  • Safe and Solid ratings indicate that one party has a clear edge and the race is not competitive.
  • Likely ratings indicate that one party has a clear edge, but an upset is possible.
  • Lean ratings indicate that one party has a small edge, but the race is competitive.
  • Toss-up ratings indicate that neither party has an advantage.

Incumbents Running In New Districts

When an incumbent files to run for re-election in the same chamber but a new district, it leaves his or her original seat open. This may happen for a variety of reasons ranging from redistricting to a change in residences. This may result in instances where multiple incumbents face each other in contested primaries or general elections if the incumbent in the new district also seeks re-election.

In 2022, six incumbents filed to run for re-election in new districts different from those they represented before the election. Click on the table below to view those incumbents.

In Illinois, a candidate may run with an established political party, with a new party, as an independent candidate, or as a write-in candidate. Candidate qualification processes are detailed below.

How Did This Happen

Eric M. Wallace, Illinois Senate 40th District Republican nominee ...

Over the past 50 years, Big Business , has chipped away at our Rights and weaponized our Political Processes against US.

First lets have a look at Amendment X of the US Constitution:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

We the People grant certain Powers to both the State and Federal Governments. The State and Federal Constitutions are contracts that clearly define how the Governments are empowered to perform certain functions that are beyond the ability of the People or States to perform.

Well, large companies have had all of the benefits of accruing Power and undue Influence without any of the Checks and Balances on their power that the Constitution imposes on the Government.

  • For example, 13 companies in the United States as of the latest quarter are on pace to earn Profits of over $1 billion a day up from about $50 million a day, 12 short years ago. To give you some perspective, this run rate of over $365 Billion annually is equivalent to half of all of the corporate profits in the United States in the year 2000.
  • Corporations, in particular their largest shareholders, have utilized the Smith Mundt Act of 2012 to promulgate propaganda on US Soil, splintering the American Public. A divide and conquer strategy has been well orchestrated by Globalists through the mainstream and social media via censorship and false narratives.

Abraham Lincoln In Illinois

1859 HOUSE JOURNAL ENTRY ON THE LINCOLN-DOUGLAS ELECTIONJanuary 5, 1859View Transcription

Explanation

On January 5, 1859, the Illinois Senate and House of Representatives met in joint session and selected Stephen A. Douglas for United States senator. It was the culmination of one of the most famous U. S. Senate races in history.

U.S. voters were not able to directly elect U.S. senators until the Seventeenth Amendment to the Constitution took effect in 1913. Until that date, most state legislatures selected their state’s senators.

In 1858, the newly formed Republican Party chose Abraham Lincoln to be its candidate for U. S. senator. This was the first time in the history of the state that a major political party had nominated a candidate for the U. S. Senate before the legislative elections. Previous to 1858 candidates for U. S. Senate didn’t receive party support but would seek support from legislators after the election. Running for his third term, Douglas knew he would have the support of most Democrat legislators.

Lincoln set the tone of the campaign by discussing slavery in accepting the Republican nomination. In what became one of his most famous speeches he declared, “A House divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free.”

Republican Senate Candidate Gets 9 Percent Of Vote Refuses To Concede

A Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Illinois is refusing the concede, despite suffering a blowout loss in Wednesday’s GOP primary.

Bobby Piton, the managing partner of an investment services firm and a supporter of claims that the 2020 presidential election was rife with massive fraud, announced that he would not be conceding his loss in social media posts on Thursday.

Kathy Salvi was the projected GOP primary winner with around 30 percent of the vote, while results show that Piton was favored by around 9 percent of Republican voters and finished in a distant fourth place.

“I am NOT conceding my US Senate race primary … stay tuned …” Piton tweeted.

“It appears as though the machines flipped results between different candidates differently in each voting jurisdiction …” he added.

Piton, whose campaign website touts his experience as “a paid thinker” who reads “two to three times as fast as the average human being,” reiterated his claim that the votes had been “flipped” in a phone call with Newsweek. He said that he completely rejected the official results, citing no evidence but insisting that statistics and an algorithm used in stock trading explained his loss.

Piton was involved in efforts to overturn former President Donald Trump‘s 2020 presidential election loss and appeared as an “expert witness” at related hearings held by former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, according to Vice.

Ken Griffin And Michael Flynn Are Not Swaying Many Gop Voters In Us Senate And Other Top Races

A Chicago Sun-Times/WBEZ Poll found two-thirds of likely Republican voters are not sure who theyll vote for, despite Griffins heavy backing of a GOP slate.

A dozen Republicans are running in contested primary races for Illinois attorney general, secretary of state and one of the states two U.S. Senate seats but just weeks before Election Day, GOP voters top choice in all three contests is undecided.

Not even the financial might of the states richest person has helped sway voters to rally behind two of the GOP establishments chosen candidates. And embracing former President Donald Trumps baseless claims of voter fraud or the support of his pardoned former national security adviser Michael Flynn hasnt helped any of the candidates gain traction in the U.S. Senate race.

Thats whats suggested by a Chicago Sun-Times/WBEZ Poll of likely Republican voters almost two-thirds of whom still arent sure about whom they want to send to the general election in the Senate race at the very top of the ballot and the two other contests a bit further down.

By comparison, only about a quarter of those same voters remain undecided about the six-way Republican gubernatorial race.

Illinois Republicans Seek To Replace Duckworth In Senate

Anthony Beckman, Illinois Senate 10th District Republican nominee ...

Seven candidates sought the Republican nomination in the primary Tuesday for U.S. Senate as polls closed in Illinois

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Seven candidates sought the Republican nomination in the primary Tuesday for U.S. Senate as polls closed in Illinois, with the winner taking on incumbent Democrat Sen. Tammy Duckworth.

Duckworth, 54, a wounded Iraqi war veteran and popular politician, is unopposed in the primary. She will be the clear favorite as she seeks a second term in November in a place where Democrats control all statewide offices and voters twice rejected President Donald Trump by double digits. Of 34 Senate races nationwide, the Cook Political Report puts her chances among just 10 it ranks as Solid D for a likely Democratic win.

While Illinois has elected GOP senators in the recent past, Duckworth defeated the most recent Republican to hold a seat moderate Sen. Mark Kirk by more than 10 points in 2016.

Kathy Salvi, a former Lake County assistant public defender and an unsuccessful congressional candidate in 2006, has led the pack of Republicans during the primary campaign in terms of exposure and money raised. She campaigned on a pledge to work to unify her party and maintains Duckworth is beatable because the fall election will be a vote about the success or failure of the Biden administration. Salvi, 63, of Mundelein, works in a Chicago-area law firm alongside her husband, Al, a former state lawmaker.

Trump has not endorsed anyone in the race.

Illinois primary election: Republicans fighting for votes

If Peggy Hubbard wins the GOP primary June 28, shed be among more than 100 candidates across the country who embrace the false claim that Trump won the 2020 election.

One of the apparent frontrunners in the Republican U.S. Senate primary in Illinois was part of the protests at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and has characterized the fatal insurrection as a party at Showbiz Pizza.

Just days ahead of the Capitol riot, Peggy Hubbard told her Facebook followers that she intended to board a Washington, D.C.-bound bus with my fellow Illinoisans/Patriots to take the fight for our Constitution directly to the establishment or, the swamp, as she called it and to stir things up!

Now, Hubbard, who has indicated she does not regard President Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 election, is tied or leading in polls heading into the June 28 primary election. The winner of the seven-way race will go on to challenge Democratic U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth this fall.

The Washington Post recently reported that more than 100 GOP candidates across the country who embrace the false claim Trump makes that Biden isnt Americas legitimate president have won Republican primaries through the end of May.
