How To Get Rid Of Republicans

Don't Miss

The Republican Party Is Abandoning Democracy There Can Be No Politics As Usual

The *real* reason Republicans want to get rid of Liz Cheney

Republicans could not be clearer about their cynicism, yet some establishment Democrats act as if politics as usual is still an option

Over the past few weeks, President Joe Biden has repeatedly emphasized his friendship with Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell. At the National Prayer Breakfast in early February, for instance, he praised McConnell as a man of your word. And youre a man of honor. Thank you for being my friend.

Bidens publicly professed affinity is weirdly at odds with the political situation. Going back to the Obama era, McConnell has led the Republican Party in a strategy of near-total obstruction which he has pursued with ruthless cynicism. It is true that he has, at times, signaled distance to Donald Trump and condemned the January 6 insurrection. But McConnell is also sabotaging any effort to counter the Republican partys ongoing authoritarian assault on the political system.

Republicans could not be clearer about the fact that they consider Democratic governance fundamentally illegitimate, yet some establishment Democrats act as if politics as usual is still an option and a return to normalcy imminent.

Most Senate Republicans Dont Want To See Trump Run Again

Senate Republicans, with a few exceptions, are hoping that former President TrumpDonald TrumpRepublicans poised to sweep Virginia, stunning DemocratsFive takeaways from a grim night for DemocratsNew Jersey governorâs race too close to callMORE does not announce his intention to run again for president.

These GOP senators definitely dont want to see Trump announce a bid before the 2022 midterm elections, fearing that could sink their hopes of winning back the Senate.

More broadly, theyre generally reluctant to see him on the ballot in 2024 at all because of his track record with independent and swing voters.

Several Republican senators, who requested anonymity to discuss Trump frankly, said they dont want to see Trump return as the partys standard bearer.

I think were better off when hes not part of any story, said a Republican senator, who said his view is widely shared in the GOP conference.

Hes a clinical narcissist. He threw away the election in the debate with Biden and he threw away the Senate out of spite, the lawmaker added, referring to Trumps first against Biden, which many Republican senators viewed as a disaster, and his influence on Republican voter turnout in the Georgia special election.

One thing is crystal clear: Most GOP senators think Trump announcing a bid before the midterms would hurt them.

McConnell has steadfastly refused to acknowledge Trumps attacks or mention him by name.

Im shocked, arent you? he quipped.

Horowitz: How Republicans Can Get Rid Of Trump For Good

Blaze News

It’s become obvious over the past week that Republicans are uncontrollably desperate to rid themselves of Trump and disentangle their voters from his unflinching grip. They have been trying to do this for five years, but now they are willing to try anything and everything to accomplish their long-held goal. Unfortunately for them, they are ignoring the one way to actually get rid of Trump, opting instead for a tactic that will destroy themselves more directly than anything they have done until now.

The reason why voters are attached to Trump has nothing to do with Trump per se. It is rooted in what predated Trump. In fact, the very people who hate Trump the most today are the ones responsible for his rise.

The GOP has gone for three decades without representing any of the values or concerns of half the country. The more Republicans conspired with the left to destroy this country, the more radical the left became. The left has won so many fiscal and social fights without firing a shot that naturally it is proceeding immediately to the next step. In turn, the base voters became increasingly desperate for some sort of check and balance on the left’s increasingly successful transformation of this country. Trump co-opted the sentiment of the time in 2015, and GOP voters jumped aboard. If you throw Ted Cruz into the mix, over 70% of primary voters chose two candidates abhorred by the entire party ruling class.

Republicans Want To Reform Social Security Behind Closed Doors Beware

Republican politicians are scared to death. They seek to create a smoke-filled room to provide political cover. Of what issue are they so terrified? Social Security.

Republican politicians say they support Social Security. They say they want to eliminate its projected shortfall. But do they offer a substantive proposal? Absolutely not. Instead, they hide behind process to avoid political accountability.

They want Democrats to hide with them behind closed doors. The goal is to come up with an unamendable package, supported by Democrats, that is full of benefit cuts and gives Republicans political cover to rob working families of their earned benefits. Fortunately, the Democrats will have no part of it.

Democratic policymakers are offering concrete proposals for all the world to see. They are begging their Republican colleagues to release a proposal of their own.

The Democrats are calling the Republicans bluff, but the Republicans are refusing to show their cards. Why? Because they are afraid. The reason they are so afraid is not hard to see. They are radically out of step with their own voters.

As polarized as Americans are over many issues, poll after poll shows that an overwhelming majority of Americans Republicans, as well as Democrats and Independents believe that Social Security is more important than ever. They strongly oppose any and all cuts. They want to see benefits expanded. And they want the wealthiest to pay their fair share.

Reverse Psychology on how to get rid of Republicans

over at the Atlantic has a suggestion for those in his party that want him to stay out of the Presidential race.

I want him to become the nominee.

Biden would surly kick his ass again

But Leibovich has a simple way to set the Big Guy on self destruct.

Just keep calling him a Loser, like he is and hates so much hes still whining and crying about.

Mike Pence and Ron DeSantis ARE seriously running already and will have to decide how to get around Trump..

Trumps bizarre and enduring hold over his party has made it verboten for many Republicans to even utter publicly the unpleasant fact of his defeatsomething they will readily acknowledge in private. I caught up recently with several Trump-opposing Republican strategists and former associates of the president who argued this restraint should end. The best way for a Republican to depose Trump in 2024, they said, will be to call Trump a loser, as early and as brutally as possibleand keep pointing out the absurdity of treating a one-term, twice-impeached, 75-year-old former president like a kingmaker and heir apparent. In other words, dont worry about hurting Special Boys feelings.

I doubt that this Trump-but-different tactic would work, especially with Trump himself in the race. Plus, why waste so much good material? A Hes a loser strategy would be way more direct and satisfying, and would have the added benefit of driving Trump nuts.

Context: The 2020 Us Election Explained

I published an article in July 2016 stating that I believed that Donald Trump had narcissistic personality disorder, and tried to warn America what would be in store for it if we elected him president. Exactly four years ago, on the eve of the US presidential election, I wrote an article predicting that Trump would win. My view was based largely on the belief that Hillary Clintons intended coronation was premature, that she was a flawed candidate, and that Trump had succeeded in tapping into an important vein in American political culture the neglected blue-collar voter. I published that article at 3:00 the morning after the election, one of the very first to have acknowledged the birth of Trumpism.

In that piece, I wrote:

We have seen the result of four years under his thumb. America has rarely been more partisan or divided. Those who yearned for an Ozzie-and-Harriet vision of America have become more emboldened four years later, apparently believing that America can once again become a bastion of white conservatism, replete with racism, bigotry and misogyny. That is unlikely to happen. America has become too diverse, and sufficient progress has been made toward equality to revert to that sad vision. The partisanship will surely only continue to get worse in the coming four years. The question is, can we ever return to a time when bipartisanship reigns?

The Republican Axis Reversing The Rights Revolution

We are witnessing a reordering of American life not seen in half a century.

The great divergence is rapidly expandingand President Joe Bidens window to reverse it is narrowing.

Since the 1960s, Congress and federal courts have acted mostly to strengthen the floor of basic civil rights available to citizens in all 50 states, a pattern visible on issues from the dismantling of Jim Crow racial segregation to the right to abortion to the authorization of same-sex marriage. But now, offensives by red-state governments and GOP-appointed federal judges are poised to retrench those common standards across an array of issues. The result through the 2020s could be a dramatic erosion of common national rights and a widening gulfa great divergencebetween the liberties of Americans in blue states and those in red states.

The only lever Democrats have to resist these efforts is their unified control of the White House and Congress. In theory, this allows them to pass federal legislation establishing a new floor of nationwide rights on voting, abortion, LGBTQ issues, and other areas. In practice, thats proved to be an empty promise.

Americans Not Only Divided But Baffled By What Motivates Their Opponents

As it became clear that Democrats would win control of the U.S. House of Representatives, pundits immediately began explaining the Blue Wave. Some said it was rooted in concerns that President Trump was leading the nation into dangerous territory others pointed to alarm about health care, or compassion for citizens of color and refugees. But Republican voters were having none of this, according to a recent Penn State Mood of the Nation Poll.

The nationally representative poll of 1,000 citizens included 307 voters who cast votes for Republican Congressional candidates in the midterm elections. We asked them, In your opinion, how many citizens voting for the Democrats did so because they sincerely believe that the Democratic party is best for the country?

Left-wing filmmaker Michael Moore has shared a 10-point plan to oust Donald Trump from the White House.

The longtime critic of the Republican leader published the easy-to-follow guide in a bid to make Trump toast again.

Moore argued that Mr Trump was in deep, deep trouble, citing controversy over his administrations ties to Russia and the unpopularity of his travel ban, and urged supporters to capitalise on these controversies.

To Get Rid Of Trump Or Not

Impeaching 74-year-old President Donald Trump Jan. 13 for spurious reasons, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi took out all her wrath the man who frequently called her crazing Nancy. Well crazy Nancy got the last laugh so far, unleashing the anti-Trump demons in the Democrat-controlled House, essentially weaponizing her Article 1 power, the unconstitutional use of impeachment. Impeachment was intended by the Founding Fathers to rid the fledgling democracy of a tyrant, criminal or both. Llike everything else under the rule of law, lawmakers, like Pelosi, arent allowed to invent their own laws or make up definitions for ramming a square peg into a round hole. Pelosi did just that when she charged Trump with incitement of insurrection, something that turns insurrection on its head. Rioters that stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 werent seeking to overthrow the U.S. government.

Democrats Think Many Republicans Sincere And Point To Policy

Democrats, however, were somewhat more generous in their answers. More than four in ten Democratic voters felt that most Republican voters had the countrys best interests at heart . And many tried their best to answer from the others perspective. A 45-year-old male voter from Ohio imagined that as a Republican, he was motivated by Republicans harsh stance on immigration standing up for the 2nd Amendment promised tax cuts. A 30-year-old woman from Colorado felt that Republican votes reflected the desires to stop abortion stop gay marriage from ruining our country and give us our coal jobs back.

Other Democrats felt that their opponents were mostly motivated by the GOPs opposition to Obamacare, lower taxes and to support a party that reduced unemployment.

Sunny Hostin says its time to do away with the Republican party completely. The View co-host delivered an impassioned speech on todays episode of the talk show after yet another mass shooting took place in the U.S. on Wednesday , but still no meaningful gun reform has been passed.

During a conversation about the shooting in a Tulsa hospital, which killed four people and took place shortly after the shooting in Uvalde, Texas, that killed 19 students and two adults, Hostin unloaded on Republicans, starting with House Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. After hearing McConnell place blame for mass shootings on lack of school security and mental health issues, Hostin tore into the politician.

I dont think that Mitch McConnell is going to legislate for gun safety, Hostin told the panel. You cant trust Mitch McConnell at his word, ever, cause hes a filthy liar and has been for quite some time.

She continued, Republicans get in lockstep against gun safety because all they care about is power. All anyones talking about, even with red flag laws, is temporarily taking guns away. Its a minor solution. The solution here, as Whoopi has said all week, get the AR-15s off the planet, really, in my view.

Just get rid of bump stocks, get rid of these weapons of war. And its not gonna happen with Republicans in power. So I am now with you, Joy, Hostin said, referring to comments her co-host Joy Behar had made urging people not to vote for Republicans.

Democrats Return The Favor: Republicans Uninformed Or Self

The 429 Democratic voters in our sample returned the favor and raised many of the same themes. Democrats inferred that Republicans must be VERY ill-informed, or that Fox news told me to vote for Republicans. Or that Republicans are uneducated and misguided people guided by what the media is feeding them.

Many also attributed votes to individual self-interest whereas GOP voters feel Democrats want free stuff, many Democrats believe Republicans think that I got mine and dont want the libs to take it away, or that some day I will be rich and then I can get the benefits that rich people get now.

Many used the question to express their anger and outrage at the other side. Rather than really try to take the position of their opponents, they said things like, I like a dictatorial system of Government, Im a racist, I hate non-whites.

Top GOP Senator Warns Democrats ‘Will Bitterly Regret’ Getting Rid Of Filibuster

Donald Trump is headed toward a massive defeatat least, if any of the polls are to be believed. What is more, theres a decent chance a massive blue wave could do the unthinkable, sweeping even safe Republicans like South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham out to sea.

If that happens, there will be a window of time, however fleeting, for sane Republicans to try and take back the GOP. Doing so will require following the motto of Cobra-Kai: Strike first. Strike hard. No mercy.

What I am about to propose is admittedly heavy-handed. It will be called undemocratic. But whoever said a political party is supposed to be a democracy? It might even be called a coup by people who call everything that. What I am suggesting is a return of the establishment of smoke-filled rooms with party bosses. What I am saying is that the empire must strike back.

First, though, let me explain to you why I came to this conclusion.

Back in 2015, I received an email from a reader. Worried about Trumps rise, he suggested that Republicans should pull out all the stops to disqualify Trump from even being eligible to participate in the Republican primary process.

Yeah, that worked out well.

I was wrong. Republicans should have pulled out all the stopsused any means necessaryto smash Trumps radical revolution before the primary contests even started.

So what constitutes law and order in the GOP?

And who could actually enforce it?

Help us George W. Bush, youre our only hope.
