WASHINGTON, Jan 11 The decision by tech companies to clamp down on President Donald Trumps ability to speak to followers through mainstream social media may force him to tap more traditional methods of communication or more isolated conservative online channels during his final days in office, experts say.

Twitter Inc , Facebook Inc , Alphabet Inc-owned Google , Apple Inc and Amazon.com Inc took their strongest actions yet against Trump to limit his reach, fearing continued violence stemming from his posts after his supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol building last week. They were joined by smaller tech companies including Twitch, Snapchat, Reddit, Shopify and TikTok. read more

Donald Trump Has A Brand New Highly Secure President Phone

The question is whether or not he can tweet from it.

Donald Trump has just been sworn in as the President of the United States, but he’ll have to use a different phone to tweet about it. The New York Timesreports that the new President has been given a new smartphone with “state-of-the-art” security, replacing the Samsung Galaxy phone he has been using until now.

It’s unknown what kind of phone Trump will now be using, but it will be a “secure, encrypted device approved by the Secret Service.” It is likely similar to the iPhone used by President Obama during his last few years in office, which had many of the standard features removed for security reasons.

More From Popular Mechanics

Trump’s new phone will likely be unable to send texts, take pictures, or play music or videos. It’s unknown whether the President will be able to use his phone to send tweets.

The new phone will also have a new number that is only known to a few people. His previous number was widely known to members of the press, who would often call him for comment on news stories to the exasperation of his staff.

Donald Trump‘s use of social media attracted attention worldwide since he joined in May 2009. Over nearly twelve years, Trump tweeted around 57,000 times, including about 8,000 times during the 2016 election campaign and over 25,000 times during his presidency. The White House said the tweets should be considered official statements. When Twitter banned Trump from the platform in January 2021 during the final days of his term, his handle @realDonaldTrump had over 88.9 million followers.

As Trump continued to issue brief statements, his spokesperson Liz Harrington tweeted screenshots of them under the Save America logo from June 2021 to June 2022. Since then, however, her Twitter handle @realLizUSA has been infrequently used. She said she would move to Truth Social, a Trump-affiliated social media application that launched on February 21, 2022. On November 19, 2022, after Elon Musk purchased Twitter, Trump’s Twitter account was unbanned.

What Phone Does Elon Musk Use You Wont Be Surprised

by Richard Goodwin | Oct 22, 2021 | Phones

Elon Musk is a billionaire. Hes reinvented the car and is now focused on getting more humans into space. But what phone does Elon Musk use? Lets find out

Elon Musk is something of an enigma. Hes still fairly young for a billionaire, but the guy has crammed quite a lot of things into his professional career. He basically made electric cars cool, helped get PayPal off the ground, and is now trying to make public space travel a thing with Space X.

When hes not messing with the crypto markets for his own personal gain, Musk is a father and a serial entrepreneur. Often controversial, Musk seldom minces his worlds and is known for his unique style of leadership and problem-solving. He is also known for spending ALL of his money on things he believes in.

For instance, Musk made $400 million from selling PayPal. But rather than jetting off to paradise, Musk put $100 million into Tesla, $100 million into Space X, and another $100 million in his other companies. He then spent the next year or so couch-surfing in and around LA at his friends houses and apartments.

But during ALL this, Musk needs to stay connected just like the rest of us, and for this reason, he ALWAYS has his phone with him. But what phone does Elon Musk use?

Concerns About His Old Phone Persist

Trump Tweets,

A Trump impersonator attends a rally in Las Vegas on Dec. 14, 2015.

Though reports indicate that Trump gave up his Android phone in favor of something more secure, the Times on Jan. 25 reported that he was still using his old handset to do one thing: tweet.

When Trump assumed the position of Commander in Chief, he also inherited Obamas Twitter handle, @POTUS, but most of Trumps action on Twitter still comes from his personal account.

Since moving into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., Trump has been using his old, unsecured Android to post on Twitter, raising national security concerns, the Times wrote, contradicting earlier reports that he got rid of the device.

Using the phone on an insecure Wi-Fi network could reveal his location and other data on the device, the report noted. Hackers could also potentially breach Trumps smartphone if he were to click on a malicious link inside a tweet or message, then turn on the camera or microphone to spy.

It would be pretty bad if Trump is still tweeting from the same Galaxy S3 he appeared to be using in February 2016. As Android Central pointed out, that handset hasnt been updated since 2015, meaning it lacks important Android security patches available to newer models.

Election Claims And Grievances

@realDonaldTrump

Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!

March 4, 2017

In a succession of tweets on March 4, 2017, Trump stated he had “just found out” that his predecessor Obama had wiretapped the phones in his offices at Trump Tower during the last months of the 2016 election. Trump did not say where he had obtained the information and offered no evidence to support it. Trump compared the alleged intrusion to McCarthyism and Watergate. Anonymous White House officials told The Washington Post that Trump did not appear to coordinate his comments with other White House officials.

Although no evidence supported Trump’s claims, the tweets resulted in a week of media attention. Fake news websites also took up the allegations, and one falsely claimed that a warrant for Obama’s arrest had been given.

The Truth About Donald Trumps Relationship With Kevin Mccarthy

In the weeks following the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrectionist riots at the Capitol Hill and those leading up to Donald Trumps impeachment trial, its become even more and more evident to the American public that tensions between those who had once been considered die-hard Trump loyalists and Trump himself have reached a critical boiling point. While some of them have continued to stick by the former president who has become the only U.S. leader in history to be impeached twice, and the first to face impeachment after leaving office others of the rank and file have begun to break, some slowly and some with a furious thunder. Now, it looks like Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has opted for the latter to a point.

On Feb. 12, 2021, CNN reported details of a phone call made between McCarthy and Trump during the Jan. 6 riots, in which right-wing MAGA devotees and extremists, many of whom were also associated with white supremacist groups, stormed the Capitol Building with the intention of wreaking destruction and physically harming or executing members of Congress and Vice President Mike Pence. Snippets of the conversation were told to CNN by Representative Jaime Herrera Beutler, who discussed the call with McCarthy, and sources close to both politicians.

So what was said between McCarthy and Trump? And what does it say about where the relationship between McCarthy and Trump now stands?

A Military Program Has Created An Android

Among the privileges and cool stuff that come with being the president of the United States is a highly modified Boeing Black smartphone, an encrypted device certified to handle Top Secret data. The Defense Department Information Systems Agency, or DISA, developed the phone with help from Boeing and other partners, the phone goes with the office of the President. But is Donald Trump using it or his old and far less secure Android phone?

The DISA phone emerged from the agencys Mobility Classified Capability program. A fact sheet says the program uses commercial mobile devices and commercial mobile architecture components such as commercial virtual private networking. The sheet describes the phone as NSA-approved, and lists Top Secret communication capability as coming soon.

As of November 1, DISA had handed out at least two of the phones, to President Obama and to Cyber Command leader Adm. Mike Rogers, according to DISA chief Lt. Gen. Alan Lynn, who spoke at the Milcom conference in Baltimore. Lynn was initially coy when asked who helped DISA make the device: I dont want everyone to know whos making good stuff for me because theres a lot of partners. I dont want to just highlight one. Although Im sure the question might have come from that one. A moment later, he softened. Ill tell you who worked on the Top Secret one, Boeing did. Boeing Black is the device were working with.

He added that DISA was just now in the test phase of it.

Why Does Donald Trump Think Vaccines Cause Autism

Hes at it again. Last spring, Donald Trump used his television and pop culture celebrity to push a dead issue on whether the President of the United States, Barack H. Obama, was indeed a U.S. citizen. That campaign ended with the release of the Presidents long form birth certificate and Mr. Trump announcing how very proud of himself he was.

The campaign, although doomed to fail from the start, raised Mr. Trumps status amongst a small, but vocal few in the right-wing of our political landscape, and perhaps most frighteningly, actually propelled him to the front of the G.O.P presidential nominee field for ever a brief moment.

But this was Donald Trump. There was no way such fabricated legitimacy could last, and he promptly faded away, leaving the Republican nominee race to much more serious and stable candidates, like misogynistic pizza barons and wife-jumping historians.

Well, its spring once again and that means its time for Mr. Trump to hitch his wagon to another lost cause, simultaneously moving an entire conversation backwards all in the name of propelling his own fame forward. Apparently it was time to once again link vaccines to autism.

After being widely criticized for their interpretations and in the face of much larger studies , finding NO link between MMR vaccinations and autism, 10 of the original 13 authors on that 1998 paper published a retraction of interpretation in 2004.

  • 2019 Revenue: $40,523,041
  • 2019 Asset Value: Over $50,000,000
  • Business Type: Hotel

This business is a holding company for the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., which operates in the Old Post Office building, a national landmark. Trump’s company holds a long-term lease on the property, owned by the U.S. government, which could last nearly 100 years with extensions.

The hotel was at the center of a major emoluments case against the former president. A group of hotel and restaurant owners sued Trump for violating the emoluments clause, alleging that he was unconstitutionally profiting from his office because his hotel gets the business of foreign officials staying there to curry his favor. The group argued that this gave the former president’s hotel an unfair competitive advantage against their businesses.

Possibly as a result of lawsuits and public criticism, the Trump Organization planned to sell its lease to the property. They were seeking a purchase price of more than $500 million, one of the highest-priced hotel deals per room ever. The sale process was placed on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On January 20, 2021, as part of a new Executive Order titled Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government, President Biden revoked Executive Order 13950, Combating Race and Sex Stereotyping, which, among other things, prohibited federal contractors and subcontractors from providing certain workplace diversity training and programs. This new Executive Order further affirmed that qual opportunity is the bedrock of American democracy, and our diversity in one of our countrys greatest strengths.

President Bidens Executive Order 13985 follows the December 22, 2020, issuance of a nationwide preliminary injunction by the United States District Court for the Northern District of California prohibiting OFCCP from implementing, enforcing, or effectuating Section 4 of Executive Order 13950 in any manner against any recipient of federal funding by way of contract subcontract . . . . After the injunction, OFCCP issued a detailed notice regarding OFCCPs compliance with this court order.

Trump Cant Even Figure Out Which Smartphone To Use

Senior Tech Editor, The Huffington Post

Donald Trump flip-flops even when it comes to his choice of smartphone.

The Republican presidential candidate called for a boycott on Apple products last week when the tech giant refused to unlock an iPhone connected to a terror investigation. He vowed only to use Samsung devices until Apple changes course, and urged his supporters not to give Apple any business. But a glance at his tweets Friday reveals that Trump or someone on his campaign is still using an Apple iPhone to dole out abuse.

The plot thickens: Trump also appears to be using an Android phone . Here he is elevating the discourse about rival candidate Ted Cruz:

A representative for Trumps campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday.

Its likely that Trump doesnt actually press the publish button on all of his own tweets, though he reportedly dictates all of them, at least. And its previously been reported that his personal device is a Samsung Galaxy phone.

Still, the man made a pretty blunt statement about iPhones last week: Dont use them until Apple cooperates with the FBI. Apple certainly hasnt done that yet, so whats the deal?

While Trump flip-flops constantly, this situation actually offered him a chance to be consistent for once. The business mogul has railed against Apple before for failing to build a larger iPhone, because huger is always better:
