The last five presidents have received degrees from Ivy League schools, according to FactCheck.org.
However, during the 2020 presidential election, the Trump administration disputed Joe Biden‘s claim that a president not attending an Ivy League school was rare.
Biden graduated from the University of Delaware and attended law school at Syracuse.
In October 2020, Trump’s deputy director of communications, Zach Parkinson, poked fun at Biden’s latest gaffe by tweeting: “Biden just falsely claimed that he would be the first President in ’80 or 90 years’ to not go to an Ivy League school.
“In fact, roughly half of the Presidents in that time frame didn’t go to Ivy League schools .”

Biden Orders 18 Trump Appointees Off Service Academy Boards
President Joe Biden on Wednesday asked 18 members of service academy boards, many appointed during the last days of the Trump administration, to resign their positions, causing an outcry from loyalists of the former president.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, speaking at a press briefing, said Bidens goal in purging the boards of visitors for West Point and the Air Force and naval academies was to ensure appointees are qualified to serve and are aligned with the values of the current administration. She denied the resignation requests were based on political party.
I will let others evaluate whether they think Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer and others were qualified or not political, to serve on these boards, she said, naming two high-profile Trump appointees who received letters requesting they resign.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — President Donald Trump is scheduled to attend this weekend’s Army-Navy football game in New York, the U.S. Naval Academy’s athletic director said Monday.
The game on Saturday at the U.S. Military Academy’s home field in West Point, New York, will mark the first time the storied rivalry will be held at an academy’s field since 1943, Chet Gladchuk told the Naval Academy’s Board of Visitors.
“The president’s going to make it,” Gladchuk said. “I just found out a few moments ago he’ll be at the game.”
The game generally takes place at a neutral field. It had been scheduled to be played at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field, but limits on the size of the crowd due to the COVID-19 pandemic would have prevented all midshipmen and cadets from attending. Students from both schools will be at Michie Stadium, but no fans.
While the game is usually played at a neutral stadium to accommodate a large crowd, the academies take turns as official hosts. This year happened to be Army’s turn.
This will be only the sixth time the Army-Navy game has been held at the field of one of the academies, Gladchuk said. This game will even out the number of times the game has been played on an academy’s home field at three each, he said.
Even though the game will be held at West Point, the stadium will have an air of neutrality.
“The field has been changed,” Gladchuck said. “The way we’re seated, spacing, even the hospitality accommodations, are all split right down the middle.”

The White House pushed out several prominent Trump administration appointees from their posts on the advisory boards of U.S. military service academies, administration officials said on Wednesday.
The Biden administration was seeking to ensure that nominees and board members were qualified to serve on them and aligned with the presidents values, Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, said at a White House briefing. Chris Meagher, a White House spokesman, later confirmed that all of the appointees either resigned or has been terminated from their position.
Eighteen Trump appointees were asked to resign. They included former White House officials such as Kellyanne Conway, President Donald J. Trumps counselor Sean Spicer, his first White House press secretary Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, Mr. Trumps second national security adviser and Russell T. Vought, a former director of the White House Office of Management and Budget under Mr. Trump.
Ms. Conway, one of Mr. Trumps most prominent White House aides, wrote a letter refusing to resign from her advisory position at the Air Force Academy.

Donald Trump did not serve in the military, but according to a report, the Republican presidential candidate and multibillionaire business tycoon said in a forthcoming book that he still always felt that I was in the military because he attended a military boarding school and dealt with those people.
According to an upcoming biography and interview excerpts shared with The New York Times, Trump said that his five years at the New York Military Academy provided him with more training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military.
After the Vietnam War, all those military academies lost ground because people really disrespected the military, Trump told the author in an excerpt shared with the Times. They werent sending their kids to military school. It was a whole different thing, but in those days 1964 I graduated that was a very good thing or tough thing, and it was a real way of life at military academy.
The book, Never Enough: Donald Trump and the Pursuit of Success, written by Michael DAntonio, is set for a Sept. 22 release.

Applying To Military School
While each schools admissions processes and academic requirement standards may differ, they typically take into account a diverse range of factors, including standardized testing, academic transcripts, character references and recommendations, personal characteristics, and unique skills or talents.

Cathy Russell, director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office, sent letters to 18 people named to the boards of visitors for the Air Force Academy, Military Academy and Naval Academy calling on them to resign by close of business on Wednesday or face termination.
Among those Biden ousted are some high-profile Trump administration officials, including White House counselor Kellyanne Conway , press secretary Sean Spicer , national security adviser H.R. McMaster and Office of Management and Budget director Russell Vought .
White House press secretary Jen Psaki confirmed that the former Trump officials were asked to resign or face firing. It was not immediately clear if any of those asked to tender their resignations did so before a 6 p.m. deadline set by the White House.
I will let others evaluate whether they think Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer and others were qualified, or not political, to serve on these boards, Psaki said. But the presidents qualification requirements are not your party registration. They are whether youre qualified to serve and whether you are aligned with the values of this administration.
Vought on Twitter posted the letter he received from Russell and responded: No. Its a three year term.
