The writer of this article needs to do a little research on voting laws. Non-citizens, non-residents of the precinct where they cast their ballot or dead people, have NO RIGHT to vote. Motor-voter was designed to let non-citizens get on the registration lists, and stoping the States from purging their lists, was intended to let them vote, illegally. Nobodys vote is being suppressed, and any state that allows any non-citizen to vote, allows China, Mexico, Russia, etc. to manipulate our elections. Same with allowing non-residents, people in one state have NO RIGhT to vote in another state.
Overnight The Midterms Got A White
A leaked draft of a Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade instantly propelled the debate over abortion into the white-hot center of American politics, emboldening Republicans across the country and leaving Democrats scrambling to jolt their voters into action six months before the midterm elections.
Although the Supreme Court on Tuesday stressed that the draft opinion was not final, the prospect that the nations highest court was on the cusp of invalidating the constitutional right to abortion was a crowning moment for Republicans who are already enjoying momentum in the fight for control of Congress, statehouses and governors offices. Republican state leaders on Tuesday announced plans to further tighten restrictions on the procedure or outlaw it outright once the final ruling lands in the coming months.
Democrats, reeling from the blow and divided over whom to blame, hoped the news would serve as a painful reality check for voters who have often taken abortion rights for granted and struggled to mobilize on the issue with the passion of abortion rights opponents. They said they planned to drive home the stakes in the fall, particularly in state races, putting abortion rights on the November ballot in key contests in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona and other battlegrounds.

Relationship With Trump Administration
McConnell initially endorsed fellow Kentucky senator Rand Paul during the 2016 presidential campaign. Following Paul’s withdrawal from the race in February 2016, McConnell endorsed presumptive nominee Donald Trump on February 4, 2016. However, McConnell disagreed with Trump on multiple subsequent occasions. In May 2016, after Trump suggested that federal judge Gonzalo P. Curiel was biased against Trump because of his Mexican heritage, McConnell responded, “I don’t agree with what he had to say. This is a man who was born in Indiana. All of us came here from somewhere else.” In July 2016, after Trump had criticized the parents of Capt. Humayun Khan, a Muslim-American soldier who was killed in Iraq, McConnell said, “All Americans should value the patriotic service of the patriots who volunteer to selflessly defend us in the armed services.” On October 7, 2016, following the Donald Trump Access Hollywood controversy, McConnell said, “As the father of three daughters, I strongly believe that Trump needs to apologize directly to women and girls everywhere, and take full responsibility for the utter lack of respect for women shown in his comments on that tape.” In private, McConnell reportedly expresses disdain for Trump and “abhors” his behavior.
Later that day, he described the storming of the Capitol building as a “failed insurrection” which “tried to disrupt our democracy”.

McConnell said on the Senate floor that a bill passed by the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives, which sought to meet fellow Republican Trumps demands for bigger cheques, has no realistic path to quickly pass the Senate.

Roes Fall Would Alter Political Battle Lines But In What Way
Democrats who were privately hoping for a surprise development to shake up the midterms have gotten their wish. Nobody expected it to come in the form of a leaked draft Supreme Court opinion overturning Roe v. Wade, however.
Its a political bombshell. But that doesnt mean its easy to discern where the shrapnel lands.
Democrats we spoke with on Tuesday were furious about Justice Samuel Alitos draft opinion, which was presented in the document as the view of the courts conservative majority. Universally, these Democrats viewed it as an assault on the fundamental rights of women to control their own bodies.
But in coldly rational political terms, they expect the news to energize their base and motivate key swing groups, such as suburban college-educated women. They also pointed to polling showing that banning abortion, as a number of states have indicated they would do if Roe were overturned, would be unpopular with the broader public.
The more you see Republicans cheering the decision, the more youre going to have voters saying, Wait a second, this is not what I thought they were going to do, said Margie Omero, a Democratic pollster.
We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled, Alito wrote in the draft, which a representative for the court emphasized in a statement was not necessarily a final opinion. It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the peoples elected representatives.

Former President Donald Trump called for Republicans to rebel against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and oust him from his leadership position as vengeance for brokering a deal to raise the federal debt ceiling.
Trump called McConnell a broken old crow and criticized him for working with Senate Democrats on the debt ceiling deal instead of using it as leverage to oppose President Joe Bidens spending plans.
McConnell gave Democrats limited support in the Senate, allowing them to overcome to filibuster rule and use their own votes to lift the debt ceiling, a limit beyond which the US government is forbidden to borrow.
Mitch McConnell is giving the Democrats victory on everything, Trump said in a statement issued by his spokesperson Liz Harrington through Twitter on Sunday.

Although well above the draft age at 41 years old, Cooper enlisted for service in the United States Army in World War II in 1942. When Did Mcconnell And Trumps Relationship Sour
The two Republicans shared a cordial working relationship throughout Mr Trumps presidency.
That changed, however, after Mr Trump lost the presidential election. Mr McConnell said he had not spoken to Mr Trump since mid-December.
The rift between them was exacerbated after the Capitol riots, which led to the deaths of five people including a police officer.
Mr Trump, who was impeached by the House of Representatives over the violence, was acquitted by the Senate on charges of inciting the insurrection.
Only seven Republicans joined the Democrats in voting to convict Mr Trump. Mr McConnell and 42 other Republicans voted to acquit.
A two-thirds vote was needed to convict.
Despite voting to acquit, Mr McConnell excoriated the former president on the Senate floor after the vote.
There is no question, none, that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day, he said.
A mob was assaulting the Capitol in his name, he added. These criminals were carrying his banners, hanging his flags and screaming their loyalty to him.
The relationship between Mr Trump and Mr McConnell is not the only one to have soured over the past month.
On Tuesday, an adviser to Mr Trump said that former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani has stopped doing legal work for the former president.
Mr Giuliani is not currently representing President Trump in any legal matters, Jason Miller told CNN.

On the calendar at Jackson Womens Health Organization on Tuesday, every appointment slot was filled. Patients drove in from across Mississippi, as well as from Louisiana, Tennessee and as far away as Texas, taking the long trip to obtain an abortion from a clinic that now seemed doomed.
A draft opinion leaked from the Supreme Court has indicated that a majority of the justices were in favor of overturning the constitutional right to abortion, a decision that could spell the end of clinics like this one, the lone provider in Mississippi and the named plaintiff in the case that will lead to the most consequential abortion rights decision in decades.
But on Tuesday, as it will until an official ruling arrives, the clinic remained open. Volunteer escorts showed up to usher patients past the activists who arrive each day to discourage women from going inside. The doctor and staff pledged to keep working for as long as they possibly can.
Were going to continue to see patients, Shannon Brewer, the director of the clinic, said. I dont know anything different we would do other than see patients.
Demand at many clinics across the country has surged in recent months as conservative states have passed new restrictions in anticipation of the Supreme Court ruling. On Tuesday, that frenetic pace continued, with clinics pushing to see as many patients as they could even as they anticipated with new certainty a ruling that could ultimately put many of them out of business.
Protesters Gather In Manhattan In Support Of Roe
More than a thousand demonstrators gathered at Foley Square in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday evening to protest the possibility of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, which has guaranteed the right to abortion for nearly half a century.
Many wore green, a signature color for abortion rights campaigners, and brandished everything from neat, preprinted signs from Planned Parenthood to recycled cardboard covered in furious Sharpie messages.
New Yorks attorney general, Letitia James, shared that she herself had an abortion years ago when she was new in the City Council. She encouraged people to turn their anger into action.
This is a call to action, this is a five-alarm fire, my friends, Ms. James said to cheers. This is a time to act, this is not the time to be silent, because silence is the enemy right now.
The gathering included others who had had abortions, like Marcy Kempner, 60, who said, firmly, that she wanted to see womens health codified in law.
Having this at the whim of the Supreme Court and all the shenanigans that go on around, that is not a way to have a free and fair country, said Ms. Kempner.
Derek Holmes, 26, said he attended the event because he had been in a situation where having an abortion saved me from becoming an ill-equipped father.
I dont think many men see the importance of having this right and its more than just economics, said Mr. Holmes. I could never understand what it must be like to have an unwanted child.

The most logical culprits are the justices themselves, and the decades of right-wing activism that elevated them to these positions for this very purpose. But it is a more interesting take to blame those who claim to support the right to abortion but have failed to protect that right. Susan Collins, for voting to confirm Brett Kavanaugh. Conservatives have already found liberals to blame for the document leak while Democrats turn on each other . The News Stuns Both Sides And Then Energizes Americans
Opponents and supporters of abortion rights had expected for months that the Supreme Court would vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, but the leaked draft opinion late Monday came as if out of the blue, setting off shock, outrage and jubilation on both sides of the nations deeply polarized abortion debate.
Activists took to the streets to declare their intention to fight harder, especially over control of Congress in this years midterm elections. Candidates sought to raise money off the news. And in states that are poised to ban abortion or guard access to it, politicians and governors declared that they were ready to act.
Yet many Americans woke up stunned, not realizing and some still not believing that Roe and the constitutional right to an abortion that it has guaranteed for five decades could disappear within a matter of weeks.
Connie Wright, a Des Moines-area grandmother of eight, was getting ready for bed on Monday night when her phone lit up with a friends text about the leak. Searching online to confirm it, Ms. Wright fell to her knees. I feel like this is something Ive been praying for forever, she later said. And that it was answered prayer. And I just kept thanking the Lord for these innocent babies lives that are being saved.
Jordyn McFadden, a first-year law student at Washington University in St. Louis who was studying outside a Starbucks, said the draft ruling that suggests Roe v. Wade will be overturned made her see the Supreme Court as tyrannical.
