- Last day to register to vote for the May 25 primary runoffs.

- May 20 Last day of early voting.
- May 24 Primary runoff election day. Also, mailed ballots must be postmarked by 7 p.m.

When And Where You Can Vote:
Registered and eligible Texas voters may vote at any early voting location located in the county in which they live.
Early voting locations will be populated through the Vote Texas website two days before the first day of early voting. All voters have to do is plug in their information in order to find polling locations.
Early voting for the Texas primary runoff election starts on Monday, May 16, and runs through Friday, May 20. During early voting, polling place hours vary at each location.
On Election Day, May 24, things work a little differently.
You will want to see if the county you live in participates in the Countywide Polling Place Program . If your county does participate in CWPP, you can vote at any polling place in the county. If your county doesn’t participate in CWPP, you can only vote at the polling place assigned to you on Election Day.

Republican Herschel Walker is getting a tax break intended only for a primary residence this year on his home in the Dallas, Texas, area, despite running for Senate in Georgia.
Publicly available tax records reviewed by CNNs KFile show Walker is listed to get a homestead tax exemption in Texas in 2022, saving the Senate candidate approximately $1,500 and potentially running afoul of both Texas tax rules and some Georgia rules on establishing residency for the purpose of voting or running for office.
Walker registered to vote in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2021 after living in Texas for two decades and voting infrequently. In Texas, homeowner regulations say you can only take the exemption on your principal residence.
Walker took the tax break in 2021 and 2022 for his Texas home even after launching a bid for Senate in Georgia, an official in the Tarrant County tax assessor office told CNNs KFile. The Walker campaign did not respond to CNNs repeated requests for comment. Walker is set to face Democratic Sen. Greg Abbott of Texas fended off two right-wing primary challengers on Tuesday, avoiding a runoff by a wide margin but still falling well short of the 90 percent of the vote he marshaled in the primary four years ago as a restive Republican base continues to push the party farther to the right.
Mr. Abbott, who is running for a third term, left little to chance, spending $15 million in the last month alone to squash any primary threat. He will now face Beto ORourke, the former congressman who formally won the Democratic nomination, in the fall.
The results from the Texas primaries are providing the first pieces of the 2022 midterm puzzle: both an early indication of the strength of the two parties ideological factions and the intensity of former President Donald J. Trumps continued hold on the Republican electorate.
Still, Mr. Abbott faced boos at a Trump rally north of Houston in January and only won over the crowd by invoking Mr. Trump more than two dozen times in a six-minute speech.
