Biden Flees East Coast As Georgia Votes In Critical Senate Runoff Election
President Biden will be in Arizona as Georgians cast their vote in the runoff election for U.S. Senate.
President Biden hopped on long flight to Arizona Tuesday as Georgia was hosting a Senate runoff election that will determine whether the Senate remains in a 50-50 split, or whether Democrats hold 51 seats.
The president did not make a single appearance with Sen. Ralph Warnock, D-Ga., over the last month as he fends off a challenge from Republican nominee Herschel Walker. As Georgians went to the polls to vote Tuesday, Biden opted for a tour of the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. plant in Phoenix to tout the $52 billion CHIPS Act he signed in August, which provided tens of billions of dollars in new federal funding for domestic semiconductor manufacturing.
“I’m going to Georgia today to help Sen. War not to Georgia I’m going to help Sen. Warnock by doing a major fundraiser up in Boston,” the president said Friday.
Americans Are Divided By Party In The Sources They Turn To For Political News
To a large degree, the pattern of partisan polarization that emerges in attitudes about the credibility of news sources is also evident in the sources that Republicans and Democrats rely on for news about politics and the election.
Overall, Republicans get political and election news from a smaller group of sources than Democrats, with an overwhelming reliance on one source Fox News. Democrats , on the other hand, use a wider range of sources.
Six-in-ten Republicans say they got news from the Fox News cable network in the past week. After Fox News, there is a huge gap before the next most turned-to sources ABC News, NBC News and CBS News, all at similar levels .
Despite Republicans deep distrust of CNN, it is among the more commonly used sources among Republicans, with 24% who got political news there in the past week. Next come the radio shows of Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh . No other source tops 15% among Republicans.
On the Democratic side, CNN is turned to by the greatest portion, with 53% saying they got political news there in the past week. As is the case with Republicans, the three major commercial broadcast networks are the next most turned to sources of political news for Democrats, albeit in bigger doses NBC , ABC and CBS .
Fox News Presentation Style
Being a polar opposite of CNN, Fox always showed clear support towards Republican ideologies. Their channel seemed to be more towards the conservative side. They also attempted to showcase the actions of Donald Trump in a more positive light.
This news outlet too mentioned the other party more frequently on their channel, mostly to discredit or disqualify their actions. But one stark difference between the two networks was noticed in terms of the guests they invited to their shows.
While CNN, as mentioned above, pursued guests of both political affiliations, Fox News was skewed towards Republican Speakers and mostly invited those whose voice mirrored the ideologies of this party.

Early Life And Legal Career
Kelly was raised in Syracuse and Delmar, New York, the third and youngest child of an education professor and his wife. After her fathers death in 1985, her mother worked as a nurse at a Veterans Administration hospital in order to support the family. Kelly attendedSyracuse University. Herschel Walker Speaks After Georgia Senate Loss To Sen Raphael Warnock Thanks Supporters

Walker told supporters that “we put up one heck of a fight” in a speech at his election night gathering, and said he appreciated
“We can’t blame no one, because I want you to continue to believe in this country,” Walker said, encouraging voters to continue fighting for Georgia.
The Associated Press called the race for Warnock around 10:30 p.m., ending a five week runoff campaign. Warnock led the Nov. 8 election night vote by 36,000 votes, but did not secure more than 50% of the vote, triggering a runoff.

The midterm elections are officially over after Sen. Raphael Warnock defeated GOP nominee Herschel Walker by nearly 3 percentage points in Georgias Senate runoff. While Democrats celebrate their 51st seat in the upper chamber, Karl Rove, a veteran GOP strategist and Fox News contributor, says the Republican loss was avoidable.
“It shouldn’t have been,” Rove told Fox News Digital. “We had a terrible candidate who was well-meaning but plagued with a lot of scandal and was not particularly good on the campaign trail.”
Republicans’ loss in the Peach State boils down to poor candidate quality at the hands of President Donald Trump, according to Rove.
“It just shows again hes a bad picker,” Rove said.
Isan Media Cable Viewers Shift Attitudes After Changing The Channel
Millions of Americans count right-leaning Fox News as their primary source of information about politics and current events. A new working paper co-authored by Yale political scientist Joshua Kalla presents evidence of the influence such partisan media outlets wield over peoples attitudes on the major issues of the day.
For the study, Kalla and co-author David Broockman of the University of California-Berkeley, conducted an experiment in which they recruited a sample of regular Fox News viewers and paid a random subset of them to watch rival cable news network CNN from Aug. 31 through Sept. 25, 2020. They found that the people who switched to CNN for four weeks developed different views on a variety of issues, including President Donald Trumps handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and the racial justice protests that followed the killing of George Floyd, than those who continued watching Fox News.
The researchers selected Fox News for the study, they said, because the incumbent president happened to be Republican.
They focused the study on Fox News because President Trump, a Republican, was the incumbent president heading into the 2020 election, Kalla explained. Future studies conducted with a Democratic incumbent in office should focus on regular viewers of more left-leaning cable news networks, such as CNN or MSNBC, he added.

Democrat Raphael Warnock Defeats Republican Herschel Walker In Georgia Senate Runoff

Incumbent Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock has defeated GOP nominee Herschel Walker in the Georgia Senate runoff election, according to a projection made by The Associated Press.
Warnock — who has served as senior pastor of Atlanta’s Ebenezer Baptist Church since 2005 — defeated Walker in Tuesdays runoff election after he was forced into a runoff election following the November 8 general election.
In the general election, Warnock, who has served in the Senate since 2021, garnered 49.43% of the vote. Walker earned slightly less at 48.5%.

Republican Rep Valadao Wins California Central Valley Vote
SACRAMENTO, Calif. Republican U.S. Rep. David Valadao has defeated Democrat Rudy Salas in a Central Valley district, overcoming a strong Democratic registration advantage and fallout from his vote to impeach then-President Donald Trump.
With 98% of the ballots counted Monday night, Valadao had 52% of the votes to 48% for Salas, or a margin of about 4,500 votes.
Valadao was one of 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump after the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection. He is one of only two of those 10 to be reelected, along with Republican Rep. Dan Newhouse of Washington. Others retired or were defeated by Trump-endorsed primary challengers.
Democrats hold a staggering 17-point registration edge in the 22nd District in the states farm belt. But Valadao, who was never a Trump loyalist, has highlighted a bipartisan streak to win in left-leaning districts before. He held his seat from 2013 until January 2019, lost it for a term, then won it back in a 2020 rematch with Democrat T.J. Cox.
Salas, a state assemblyman who is considered a moderate, dueled with Valadao over gas taxes, the opioid overdose crisis and health care.
Earlier, Republicans regained control of the House. With Valadaos victory, Republicans will hold 219 seats next year, Democrats 212. Counting is not yet finished in a handful of other undecided races.
Valadao didnt support then-candidate Trump in 2016, but then backed his reelection four years later.
Report That Biden Administration Was Building Trump Wall
According to analysis by Media Matters, on May 12, 2021, Fox News reported on its website: “Biden resumes border wall construction after promising to halt it”. Correspondent Bill Melugin then appeared on Special Report with Bret Baier to report “the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is actually going to be restarting border wall construction down in the Rio Grande Valley” after “a lot of blowback and pressure from local residents and local politicians.” After the Corps of Engineers tweeted a clarification, Melugin deleted a tweet about the story and tweeted an “update” clarifying that a levee wall was being constructed to mitigate damage to flood control systems caused by uncompleted wall construction, and the website story headline was changed to “Biden administration to resume border wall levee construction as crisis worsens.” Later on Fox News Primetime, host Brian Kilmeade briefly noted the levee but commented to former Trump advisor Stephen Miller: “They’re going to restart building the wall again, Stephen.” Fox News host Sean Hannity later broadcast the original Melugin story without any mention of the levee.

Americans are divided by political party on which news sources they trust, according to the latest Economist/YouGov Poll.
Most Republicans trust Fox News, the only news organization to receive a majority of GOP support in the survey. One-third of Republicans trust The Wall Street Journal, while one-third are neutral on whether the newspaper is trustworthy. A quarter of Republicans trust One America News Network, a conservative broadcast organization that has been elevated by President Donald Trump and the White House in recent months.
Trump has promoted OANN as a great alternative to Fox News though, OANN hasnt usurped the media giant among Republicans overall. About one-third of Fox News viewers trust OANN, compared to 15 percent of Americans overall. OANN is frequently criticized for spreading disproven conspiracy theories and misinformation that President Trump has re-circulated on his Twitter account.
Despite this, OANN remains more trusted among Republicans than The Washington Post , The New York Times , CNN , and MSNBC . A majority of Republicans actively distrust CNN , MSNBC , and The New York Times each of which are outlets that have received frequent attacks and threats from the president for not providing favorable coverage to his administration.
Two-thirds of Democrats actively distrust Fox News, while 14 percent trust the network. About half of Democrats remain neutral on OANN, though about two in five consider it untrustworthy.

Doj ‘monitoring’ Georgia Polls For Voting Rights Compliance As Election Is Underway
The Department of Justice announced that it will be observing the Georgia senate election Tuesday in order to ensure no violations of voters’ civil rights.
Herschel Walker, the Trump-endorsed Republican nominee, is running to unseat the Democratic incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock.
The DOJ released its statement on monitoring polling locations in a press release published Tuesday, offering a list of counties under observation.
“For this election, the Civil Rights Division will monitor for compliance with the federal voting rights laws on Election Day in four jurisdictions: Cobb County, Fulton County, Gwinnett County and Macon-Bibb County. Monitors will include personnel from the Civil Rights Division and from the U.S. Attorneys Offices.”
