Icymi: Lindsey Graham Warns Of Riots In The Streets

Where Will Trump Hold His Next Rally?

Monday 29 August 2022 14:05Andrew Naughtie

South Carolina Republican senator Lindsay Graham has said that if former president Donald Trump is indicted then there will be riots in the streets.

Speaking to Fox News host Trey Gowdy on Sunday Night in America Mr Graham said: Most Republicans, including me, believes when it comes to Trump, there is no law. Its all about getting him.

There is a double standard when it comes to Trump. What happened with Hunter Biden is that the FBI weighed in to make sure the story didnt break before the 2020 election.

We now have whistleblowers at the FBI telling Sen. Grassley that they were told to slow down and back off Hunter Biden. And Ill say this, if there is a prosecution of Donald Trump for mishandling classified information after the Clinton debacle there will be riots in the street.

Sravasti Dasgupta has the story.

Donald Trump: What We Learned From His Rally In Pennsylvania

Donald Trump has called President Joe Biden an “enemy of the state” at his first rally since the FBI searched his Florida resort for sensitive files.

Speaking to thousands of supporters in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the ex-president accused Mr Biden of weaponising the FBI against him.

Mr Trump branded the search “one of the most shocking abuses of power by any administration in American history”.

He was in the state to promote two Republican candidates.

Dr Mehmet Oz is running for the US Senate, and state Senator Doug Mastriano is in the race to become Pennsylvania’s next governor.

Both spoke only briefly – as always, the rally on Saturday night was really about one person: the headliner.

Mr Trump, 76, spent the first part of his nearly two-hour speech criticising the FBI search early last month.

FBI agents conducting the search found dozens of empty folders marked as classified, and top secret files were recovered from his personal office.

Mr Trump, who is being investigated over his handling of classified records, denies wrongdoing.

The former president also returned to other familiar themes at the Pennsylvania rally: false claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him, attacks on rivals in the Democratic Party, and promises to “save our country”.

Several times, he called for people who deal drugs to receive the death penalty.

Here are four key things you need to know about Donald Trump’s rally.

Am: Whats On Trumps List Of Talking Points

Trump gave a preview of the Saturday rally that suggests he will continue pushing baseless claims of election fraud.

Look forward to seeing everyone in Arizona tomorrow! Many topics will be discussed including the Rigged Presidential Election of 2020, the fake Big Lie, the corrupt LameStream Media, the Afghanistan disaster, Inflation, the sudden lack of respect for our Nation and its leaders, and much more, Trump said in a written statement Friday. Big crowds, will also be covered on TV. See you Saturday evening!

  • In the end of the day, rural Nevada can provide 75,000-vote cushions, so rural Nevada still matters, he told an audience in Fallon in late 2021. Rural Nevada is discouraged. They think Vegas is all that matters. Not true. The vote block out of rural Nevada still makes a huge difference.

Brian Freimuth, a spokesman for Laxalt, said in a statement that the Republicans effort is the most well-traveled campaign in the state and has hosted events in every rural county, dozens of rural meet & greets, a cattle drive, and events with ranchers and farmers.

Rural Nevadans know that Adams record on water rights, the second amendment, sage grouse, and fighting federal overreach make him the best candidate in this race, said Freimuth.

Cortez Masto, arguably the most vulnerable Democratic Senate incumbent in the country, has focused much of her campaign on tying Laxalt to Trump. Laxalt, who was a co-chair of Trumps 2020 campaign in Nevada, was central to filing election lawsuits seeking to overturn the presidential result in the state, which Biden won by 2 points. Those lawsuits did not change the election result.

Former President Donald J. Trump is preparing to swoop into Ohio on Saturday to rally Republicans behind J.D. Vance in a key Senate race. Two weeks earlier, he did the same for Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania.

    Neither candidate invited him.

Instead, aides to the former president simply informed the Senate campaigns that he was coming. Never mind that Mr. Trump, while viewed heroically by many Republicans, remains widely disliked among crucial swing voters.

The question of how to handle Mr. Trump has so bedeviled some Republican candidates for Senate that they have held private meetings about the best way to field the inevitable calls from his team, according to strategists familiar with the discussions.

This awkward state of affairs reflects the contortions many Republican candidates are going through as they leave primary season behind and pivot to the general election, when Democrats are trying to bind them to the former president.

Biden Says He Started The Vaccination Program Despite Trump Rollout

Former President Donald Trump will hold his next campaign-style rally in Alabama later this month, his political organization announced Monday.

Trump will travel to Cullman, located about halfway between Birmingham and Huntsville on Interstate 65, to deliver remarks on Aug. 21, according to Save America. The rally will take place on the same day the state Republican Party holds its summer meeting, also in Cullman.

The 45th president won Alabama by more than 25 percentage points in both the 2016 and 2020 elections. However, while Trump traveled to the Yellowhammer State in 2019 to take in the college football showdown between Alabama and LSU, he has not delivered a speech in the state since September of 2017.

On that occasion, Trump visited Huntsville to campaign for then-Sen. Luther Strange in the special election to fill the seat of Jeff Sessions, whom Trump had tapped to be his attorney general. Strange lost a primary runoff to controversial jurist Roy Moore, who was in turn defeated by Democrat Doug Jones amid allegations of sexual misconduct by Moore.

Will Liz Cheney run for president in 2024? If she does, shell have an uphill battle to fight in order to claim the GOP nomination.

Once a star member of GOP House leadership, the congresswoman is now a political pariah in her own party thanks to her outspoken opposition to Donald Trump and her service on the January 6 committee. She lost a primary election, and in turn her congressional seat, to a Trump-backed challenger earlier this month.

And now, potential supporters in key primary states are openly expressing skepticism regarding her future ambitions.

Former President Donald Trump speaks at the America First rally to show support for Nevada Republican gubernatorial candidate Joe Lombardo and Republican Nevada Senate candidate Adam Laxalt at Treasure Island Friday, July 8, 2022.

With fewer than six weeks to go before the Nov. 8 general election, Donald Trump will hold a rally in Northern Nevada next week for many of the states Republican candidates vying for office, according to an event page on the former presidents website.

Trumps Save America rally will be held at the Minden-Tahoe Airport on Oct. 8, according to the website entry. Doors open at 2 p.m., and the event is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Brian Freimuth, a spokesman for GOP Senate hopeful Adam Laxalt, confirmed Laxalt will be attending the rally. We look forward to welcoming President Trump back to Nevada, Freimuth said.

A spokesperson for Republican gubernatorial candidate Joe Lombardos campaign did not return a request for comment.

In a statement, a campaign spokesman for Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto whom Laxalt is running to unseat slammed the move, calling Laxalt Trumps top lackey in Nevada.

Reeves Oyster, spokeswoman for incumbent Gov. Steve Sisolaks campaign, said in a statement, Joe Lombardo is calling in backup after another abysmal week on the campaign trail where he was caught trying to rewrite his entire anti-abortion record and called out again for rising crime on his watch.

Pm: Trump Uses Rally To Bash Biden Ducey

Trump rallies thousands in Las Vegas, says Democrats will have lots of ...

Former President Donald Trump used his 93-minute remarks at his rally in Florence to give a fresh blistering to his usual foils President Joe Biden, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey and the media to the resounding support of the thousands of diehard supporters at Canyon Moon Ranch.

Trump also renewed his grievances and cast his four years in office as a period of unprecedented prosperity and security.

Early in his remarks, which ended at 8:51 p.m., Trump cast Bidens administration as an unfolding disaster and continued his baseless claims of widespread election fraud in 2020.

Biden has utterly humiliated our nation, Trump said, saying that Russia and Chinas leaders no longer respect or fear America.

Trump said the past year under Biden has been a disaster but said there would be a good political end to the catastrophe at the outset of the new year.

The speech was an updated version of Trumps usual America-first rhetoric, long on personal boasts and lacking in subtlety.

The country is being destroyed, he said, after citing rising inflation and the nations disastrous retreat from Afghanistan. Our country is being totally destroyed.

Trump called the COVID-19 response under Biden a disaster, from vaccine mandates to testing shortages.

Im proud I was the anti-mandate president, Trump said. We gave Biden every tool he could want. Hes incapable.

Trump Reiterates Call To Overturn 2020 Election And Doubles Down On Hunter Biden Obsession

    10:31Andrew Naughtie

Donald Trump last night reiterated his call to be reinstated as president on the dubious basis that the Hunter Biden laptop story was supposedly not covered closely enough during the last weeks of the campaign.

The latest outrage at the story was kicked off by an interview between erratic podcaster Joe Rogan and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who said his platform had initially limited the spread of a New York Post story about the younger Bidens device in the first few days after it was published. The FBI has denied telling Facebook to do this, saying instead that it simply warned the platform about the potential spread of Russian misinformation targeting the Bidens.

The FBI routinely notifies U.S. private sector entities, including social media providers, of potential threat information, so that they can decide how to better defend against threats, the bureau said in a statement.

There is no obvious legal standard under which the election can be overturned or nullified nearly two years after the fact.
