It’s Unclear What Donald Trump Plans To Do With The Money

No matter how big Donald Trump’s war chest is, no one is still clear on what it is he plans to spend it on. As The Washington Post pointed out, he could use it to fund a 2024 run for the White House. He could use it to pay for unspecified travel and political activities meant to influence 2022’s midterm elections. He could even use the money in the event the Trump Organization’s legal troubles overwhelm his personal finances.

And even though he’s proven his mettle as a fundraiser, Trump doesn’t appear to want to spend very much of the cash he’s got in hand. He has only written checks worth about $3 million in total the lion’s share of that amount went to a pro-Trump research group, and $68,000 went to his hotels . None of the cash went to any of the candidates he has endorsed, and whose own fundraising activities have fallen behind those of their competitors. For example, Reuters, which also reported on Trump’s war chest, pointed out that Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski has more funds at her disposal than her Trump-endorsed rival, Kelly Tshibaka. Time will tell how the twice-impeached president will roll out his cash.

Donald Trump’s Political Organizations Have Raised More Than $100 Million

Since leaving the presidency in January 2020, Donald Trump has continued to raise money by speaking to Americans. The donations from his supporters come through two political action committees Trump’s Make America Great Again PAC and Save America leadership PAC. Per CNN, his political organizations recorded $102 million in cash reserves in July, with $90 million of that in his Save America leadership PAC.

Support that generates such revenue for a businessman-turned-politician comes with contributors who believe in his politics and his statements through his term and post-presidency. Per CNN, the first six months of the year saw 3.2 million contributions to the political committees. And these millions might just come in handy if Trump decides to contest for the White House once again in 2024. Trump has had large political support, and his followers contributing such large amounts certainly helps clear the pathway for him.

Firm Involved In Jan 6 Rally Rakes In Millions From Trumps Political Operation

Trumps political operation also continued to route payments to at least one firm involved in the rally that preceded the Jan. 6 Capitol attack, even after the public hearings kicked off in June, OpenSecrets analysis of campaign finance filings found.

Groups aligned with Trump have paid about $15 million to Event Strategies Inc., a firm named in the permit for the Jan. 6 rally and also employed two individuals involved in the demonstration, since the 2016 election cycle. About half of that over $7.2 million came in the first seven months of this year, OpenSecrets found.

The bulk of those payments to Event Strategies Inc. came from Trumps Save America leadership PAC.

Overall, individuals and firms involved in organizing the Jan. 6 rally have received about $17 million in payments from Trumps political operation with about $14 million since the start of the 2020 cycle including in the weeks leading up to Jan. 6, 2021.

The Truth and Courage PAC also started paying Event Strategies in 2022, racking up about $73,000 in payments. The super PAC, which is aligned with Sen. Ted Cruz , has spent over $315,000 supporting Republican candidates in 2022 midterms.

Presidential candidates raised and spent $4.1 billion in the 24 months of the 2019-2020 election cycle, according to campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission that cover activity from January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2020. Congressional candidates collected approximately $4 billion and disbursed approximately $3.8 billion, political parties received $3.2 billion and spent nearly $3 billion, and political action committees raised approximately $13.2 billion and spent $12.9 billion in the 24-month period. Their combined cash-on-hand was $27.8 million, while their combined debt was $17.9 million as of December 31, 2020.

Over the past year, Trump has been fundraising with numerous allies through various vehicles, including his Save America PAC and his presidential campaign committee-turned PAC, Make America Great Again PAC.

Save America, in particular, was set up as a leadership PAC, which is designed to allow former and current lawmakers or prominent political figures to raise money and boost their allies, often with the purpose of advancing their political influence.

Last year, Save America raised $700,000 in a joint fundraising operation with Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. More recently, the PAC raised roughly $202,000 with Trump-endorsed Florida House hopeful Anna Paulina Luna, new disclosure filings show.

Save America had also raised massive sums with the Republican National Committee in the weeks following the 2020 election, but the two have since stopped officially fundraising together. The RNC and other GOP party committees, however, continue to frequently appeal to donors by using Trumps name in fundraising emails and messages.

Donald Trump announced his reelection bid as soon as he took office four years ago and raised more than $1 billion in the 2020 cycle, according to OpenSecrets. This amount includes donations to his official campaign committee and outside groups such as single-candidate super PACs and hybrid PACs or Carey committees.

Trump Has Raised Over $100 Million For His 2020 Re

The president is gearing up for 2020 already.

President Donald Trump has raked in more than $106 million for his bid for re-election — even though it is over two years away, new Federal Election Commission reports show.

The total, raised since January 2017, includes contributions received through his primary campaign committee as well as two affiliated committees: Trump Victory and Trump Make America Great Again. A portion of the money raised through Trump Victory and Trump Make America Great Again goes to the Republican National Committee.

Just from July through September, the three committees raised more than $18 million and spent over $12 million. They kicked off October with nearly $47 million in cash on hand in Trump’s war chest.

The new reports also show spending over the last quarter that reflects an increasingly aggressive campaign by Team Trump, led by 2020 campaign manager and digital guru Brad Parscale.

Trump Tops $100 Million Raised For His 2020 Re

WASHINGTON President Donald Trump has raised more than $100 million toward his re-election bid, a staggering sum more than two years before the 2020 presidential election.

The president’s fundraising total, which includes his official campaign and two other joint accounts, raised about $18 million between July and September. That brings his fundraising total since January 2017 above the $100 million mark. And he closed September with almost $47 million in the bank.

The latest numbers, filed with the Federal Election Commission on Monday’s quarterly fundraising deadline, provide a glimpse into how Trump is stockpiling money for his re-election bid at a historic rate and how he’s choosing to spend that money.

Trump’s fundraising bonanza has been boosted significantly by small-dollar donations, with his campaign committee having raised a majority of its funds from donations of less than $200.

But he’s also wooing large donors through his joint fundraising committees, which are set up primarily to take in donations that can be split across multiple accounts. Venture capitalist Peter Thiel cut one of those campaigns a $250,000 check, for example.

Trump’s campaign spent $7.7 million over the last three months, including more than $1.5 million on legal expenses and about $1.6 million on advertising with a group called American Made Media Consultants.

The campaign also donated $2,000 to 107 separate Republican candidates across the country.

Trump Raises $495 Million Since Mid

President Trump has raised $495 million since mid-October, with $207.5 million of it pouring in after Election Day an extraordinary haul resulting from Trumps post-election fundraising effort using a blizzard of misleading appeals about the integrity of the vote.

The sum raised since Oct. 15 far exceeds fundraising records set by the Trump operation in roughly comparable time periods at the height of the 2020 presidential campaign and is an unusually large amount to raise after the election.

That means between Oct. 15 and Nov. 23, Trump raised an average of nearly $13 million per day a massive amount fueled by a deluge of email and text fundraising appeals sent out by the Trump Make America Great Again Committee, a joint fundraising committee that raises money for the presidents campaign, the Republican Party and Trumps new leadership PAC, Save America.

The figures were announced by the campaign Thursday and are to be made public in federal filings this month and in January. The Biden campaign had not released figures as of Thursday evening.

Much of the money raised since the election probably will go into Save America, a political action committee that the president can use for various activities after he leaves office. Some of the contributions will go toward what is left of the presidents legal fights over the certification of election results, which have failed to gain traction in the courts.

There are a few reasons why Donald Trump has done so well on the fundraising front he’s told his supporters that they should only be sending money to him, and not to the GOP as a whole. As he said during the Conservative Political Action Conference in February 2021, “There’s only one way to contribute to our efforts to elect ‘America First’ Republican conservatives and, in turn, to make America great again,” Trump said, “and that’s through Save America PAC and DonaldJTrump.com” .

Also, as The New York Times reported, some of the funds that came in through the Make America Great Again Committee have done so under a cloud. Supporters who chose to send money once accidentally ended up making regular, repeat donations because they didn’t read the fine print, and didn’t uncheck preselected boxes. The matter was so serious that the campaign ended up having to issue refunds worth more than $64 million by the end of last year The New York Times also reported this practice continued into 2021.

Trump 2020 Campaign Raised $46 Million In Final Quarter Of 2019

Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. on New Year’s Day announced that the president’s re-election campaign had raised $46 million in the last quarter of 2019making the 4th quarter the campaign’s best since the beginning of the 2020 election cycle.

Despite being impeached by the Democrat-led House in mid-December, Trump’s campaign ended the year with $102.7 million cash on hand. The amount only represents fundraising for Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. and does not include finances raised by the Republican National Committee or any other joint fundraising committees. The fourth quarter ran between October 1 and December 31.

“President Trump’s unprecedented fundraising is testament to his wide grassroots support and his stellar record of achievement on behalf of the American people,” Brad Parscale, the manager for Trump 2020 campaign, said in a statement emailed to Newsweek.

“Democrats and the media have been in a sham impeachment frenzy and the President’s campaign only got bigger and stronger with our best fundraising quarter this cycle,” he added. “The President’s war chest and grassroots army make his re-election campaign an unstoppable juggernaut.”

The Trump reelection campaign started 2019 with $19.3 million cash in hand and raised roughly $143 million more throughout the year, $83.4 million of which has been banked.

Numbers To Know About The Money In The 2020 Presidential Election

Staggering sums of money were injected into the 2020 presidential race.

Here are some of the most critical numbers to know about the money spent by the presidential candidates, and their allies, according to an Issue One analysis of campaign finance reports.

$4.9 billion: The total amount of money that was spent by all candidates and outside groups during the 2020 presidential election the equivalent of about $22 per voter.

$2.74 billion: The total amount of money that was spent by the campaigns of President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden as well as by outside groups supporting them during the general election. Biden and his allies controlled about 61% of this sum , while Trump and his allies controlled about 39% .

$1.7 billion: The total amount of money spent by the Trump and Biden campaigns. Bidens campaign alone spent about $1.01 billion, while Trumps campaign spent about $710 million. In other words, Bidens campaign spent nearly $1.50 for every $1 Trumps did.

$1.02 billion: The total amount of money spent in the general election by outside group allies of President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. Pro-Biden outside groups together spent about $668 million, while pro-Trump outside groups spent about $349 million. In other words, pro-Biden groups spent nearly $2 for every $1 spent by pro-Trump groups.

Even in defeat, President Trump continued to raise money at some of the fastest rates of the year, pulling in $207.5 million in the month since Election Day along with the Republican Party as he made baseless claims of voter fraud to undermine the legitimacy of the election.

Mr. Trumps campaign apparatus has continued to aggressively solicit donations under the guise of supporting his various legal challenges to the election of Joseph R. Biden Jr., but as of now 75 percent of donations goes to a new political action committee that Mr. Trump formed in mid-November, up to the PACs legal limit of $5,000. The other 25 percent goes to the Republican National Committee. Only if a donor gives more than $6,000 do any funds go to Mr. Trumps formal recount account.

His campaign did not release a breakdown of how the $207.5 million was divided. The funds are split among the new PAC, called Save America, the R.N.C. and two committees operated jointly by the party and the campaign, with some money also going toward paying off Mr. Trumps campaign debts.

Trump Raises More Than $207 Million Since Election Day As He Pushes Baseless Election Fraud Claims

President Donald Trumps political operation has raised more than $207 million since Election Day, as the President inundates his supporters with fundraising appeals and refuses to concede his White House loss, according to figures released Thursday night by his campaign.

The vast majority appeared to flow to Trumps campaign coffers, the Republican National Committee and their joint committees but some went to a new leadership PAC Trump established after the election that could help fuel his political ambitions in the future and retain his influence over the Republican Party for years to come.

CNN previously reported that Trumps post-election fundraising had exceeded $170 million.

These tremendous fundraising numbers show President Trump remains the leader and source of energy for the Republican Party and that his supporters are dedicated to fighting for the rightful, legal outcome of the 2020 general election, Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien said in a statement.

Despite his loss to President-elect Joe Biden and dozens of failed attempts to challenge the election results in the courts Trump has refused to concede his defeat, instead opting to spread falsehoods about election fraud and bombard his supporters with appeals for additional cash.

In all, the Trump political operation had sent 414 emails and another 132 text messages seeking funds between 11 p.m. ET on Election Night, November 3, and Thursday afternoon.
