Biden Appears To Avoid The Midterm Democratic Purge Many In His Party Feared

GAMECHANGER! DONALD TRUMP IS BACK ON TWITTER! AFTER ELON MUSK UNBANNED HIM

From CNN’s MJ Lee

As many in the country were going to bed last night, President Biden and his advisers up late into the night watching the midterm returns come in felt convinced of two things: Races across the board looked competitive, and Democrats appeared to have avoided a bloodbath that some had predicted and feared.

The White House wakes up this morning to real reasons for that optimism from the previous night to continue: The possibility of Democrats keeping the Senate in their hands very much remains intact, and theyve seen Democratic governors of big swing states and key House frontliners in their party win their races.

A huge outstanding question, of course, remains the fate of the House and just how many seats Republicans will ultimately end up picking up.

Whether Democrats can keep control of the Senate and how the makeup of the House will ultimately shake out will have huge implications for President Biden and his partys ability to govern in the second half of his first term.

And as the White House is poised to highlight some of the bright spots from last nights results, a challenge for them will be whether they can successfully make the case that some of these Democrats were able to hold their own because of the White House and President Biden not in spite of them.

One progressive House member put it bluntly to CNN: We knew the economy would be bad and they didnt have an economic message at all.

The Heartbreaking Words Ivana Trump Said To Eric Trump The Night Before Her Death

Ivana Trump was laid to rest at the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer on Manhattan’s Upper East Side on July 20, per CNN. The 73-year-old had been discovered unresponsive at the bottom of her stairs on July 14. The New York City medical examiner ruled Ivana’s cause of death was accidental, resulting from “‘blunt impact injuries’ to the torso,” CNN reported.

The unexpected and tragic death of Ivana left friends and family reeling. Her close friend, Nikki Haskell, was still in “complete shock” when she was interviewed the following day. The socialite offered insight into Ivana’s life before she died. Haskell said she had become increasingly isolated due to her fear over COVID and her struggle dealing with the death of her ex-husband Rossano Rubicondi. “She hasn’t gone anywhere or done anything,” Haskell told “Good Day New York.” However, she said Ivana had been excited about an upcoming vacation to Saint Tropez they were taking.

Trump Launches 2024 Us Presidential Run Getting Jump On Rivals

PALM BEACH, Fla., Nov 15 – Donald Trump, who has mounted relentless attacks on the integrity of U.S. voting since his 2020 election defeat, on Tuesday launched a bid to regain the presidency in 2024, aiming to pre-empt potential Republican rivals.

Seeking a potential rematch with Democratic President Joe Biden, Trump made his announcement at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida a week after midterm elections in which Republicans failed to win as many seats in Congress as they had hoped.

In a speech lasting little more than an hour, Trump spoke to hundreds of supporters in a ballroom decorated with chandeliers and lined with American flags.

“In order to make America great again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” Trump said to the phone-waving crowd, which included family members, donors and former staffers.

Trump steered clear of the name-calling that has marked other public appearances, opting instead for a critique of Biden’s presidency and a review of what Trump said were the policy achievements of his own time in office.

“Two years ago we were a great nation and soon we will be a great nation again,” he said.

Trump laid out familiar dark themes from his playbook, denouncing migrants – “We’re being poisoned” – and portraying American cities as crime-ridden “cesspools of blood.”

Control of the House of Representatives remains up in the air, but Republicans are on track to win a razor-thin majority.

Desantis’ Rout A Sharp Contrast To Trump National Gop Disappointment

Democrats Catherine Cortez Masto in Nevada and Mark Kelly in Arizona are projected to win their races, allowing them to keep their U.S. Senate seats and securing a majority for their party in the chamber.

Even before then, Republicans, who still are on pace to win a majority in the U.S. House, have been shaming and blaming each other over their midterm failures to win the Senate and some key governorships.

The lion’s share of the finger-pointing for midterm’s “complete disappointment,” as Scott termed it, has been aimed at Trump, who before the election mused that a “lot of people say it’s the Trump Party but I say it’s the Republican Party.”

At the same time, the red tsunami in Florida, led by DeSantis, highlighted the difference between the governor’s fresh, appealing political brand.

At the governor’s Boynton Beach rally, Debbie Macchia summed up DeSantis’ message in one word: “Freedom.” She said his record of achievements spoke to that message.

“Look at what he’s done,” she said. “Just look at the policies, plain and simple.”

Caldwell, the Fox News analyst, said that is precisely why he and so many others now favor DeSantis.

“He’s got solutions. The state is a great place to be and he has done all the right things,” Caldwell added, noting the parental rights law and the $20 billion state budget surplus. “It’s not just scorched earth.”

But other Republicans say not so fast.

Ira Geiger of Delray Beach said he likes DeSantis, but it’s still Trump’s nomination to win.

Oh and are you going to say anything about Trumps anti-American and fascist proposal?

Ivana Trump Is Gone But Not Forgotten

Eric Trump’s moving tribute to his mom, Ivana Trump, had the congregation in tears. However, Eric’s fist-pump as he left the service had the crowd in cheers. The Daily Mail reports that as the family exited the church, they looked stoic, despite their father’s supporters yelling, “Trump 2024!” However, when a woman yelled, “We love you! Trump 2024!” Eric retained his mourning look but couldn’t stop himself from giving a fist pump. Shockingly, in contrast to his usual animated self, Donald Trump simply “made a hand gesture” to his adoring fans as if attempting to maintain an appropriate level of funeral etiquette.

The Donald took to the specially created media platform he was forced to build following his social media ban to pay respects to his late first wife. “A very sad day, but at the same time a celebration of a wonderful and beautiful life,” the 45th president wrote on Truth Social before heading to the funeral.

Donald and Ivana were married from 1997 until 1992, per the AP. Throughout their marriage, they were business partners as well as spouses. Ivana played an active part in expanding the Trump empire. She took over the running of one of the failing Atlantic City casinos and turned it around. Ivana also played a significant role in the interior design of the Trump Tower in Manhattan. Despite the couple going through a nasty and contentious split, they ultimately managed to forge a friendship over the years.

Donald Trump Returns To Stage With Speech At North Carolina Gop Convention

Trump made his first post-presidency appearance outside of Florida.

Former President Donald Trump returned to the stage on Saturday night, delivering a speech at the North Carolina Republican Party State Convention, and claiming America is backsliding under President Joe Biden.

“It’s great to be back in Greenville with so many proud, North Carolina patriots who love our country, support our military, respect our police, honor our flag and always put America first, we don’t put America second,” Trump said as he opened his speech. “As we gather tonight, our country is being destroyed before our very own eyes.”

The 90-minute speech sounded much like one from Trump’s 2020 campaign, touting the accomplishments of the administration, including development of the COVID-19 vaccine, Wall Street’s rise, building the border wall and curtailing immigration and his tough stance on Iran and China.

Trump’s speech in Greenville, North Carolina, was his first political appearance outside his new home state of Florida since he left office in January. In late February, he delivered the keynote address at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando where he teased a 2024 comeback bid while promoting the false claim that the November election was “rigged” against him.

Musks Stance On The Post Vs Twitter

Musk, the worlds richest man who purchased Twitter last month, has previously insisted full disclosure was needed to determine why the company decided to block the bombshell report about President Bidens son in the weeks leading up to the 2020 election.

The 51-year-old billionaire, who has vowed to turn Twitter into a bastion of free speech, had been teasing the release of the internal files for several days, arguing the public deserves to know what really happened.

This is a battle for the future of civilization. If free speech is lost even in America, tyranny is all that lies ahead, he tweeted Monday after vowing the files would soon to be published on Twitter itself.

Taibbi also revealed company emails responding to a request from the Biden team during the run-up to the 2020 election shortly after the company cracked down on The Posts Hunter Biden story.

Another, dated Oct. 24, 2020, said, An additional report from DNC, an apparent reference to the Democratic National Committee.

In response, someone wrote back, handled these.

Taibbi also tweeted: Both parties had access to these tools. For instance, in 2020, requests from both the Trump White House and the Biden campaign were received and honored.

Signs Of Eroding Support Are Visible Even In Trump’s Florida

#shorts Trump’s call for termination of ‘constitution’ condemned

How widespread that sentiment is shared is unknown. Especially in his home state of Florida, once referred to as the “Trumpiest” place in America because of Trump’s high popularity among Republicans and others.

In 2020, Trump carried the Sunshine State by 3.4%. Prior to that, during his presidency, he regularly enjoyed popularity ratings in the 90% range among Florida Republicans. He has undoubtedly been the catalyst for driving the state’s flip from a purple swing state to a crimson-red “America First” model for the country.

Signs of continued loyal fervent among the Trump base abounded at the many rallies and political events for Republican candidates leading up to Tuesday’s vote.

“If Trump came in and said, ‘I’m going to stay the president for the next 20 years,’ I would support him all the way,” said Jacqueline Baust while attending a rally for Gov. Ron DeSantis in Boynton Beach this month. “I think everything Trump has done for our country and for the people in the world is like a blessing and he’s the greatest president we’ve ever had.”

But there are indications Trump’s support has seen some erosion, and often around questions of electability and likeability.

At this past July’s Sunshine Summit of GOP leaders, party organizers and donors openly voiced their preference for DeSantis, who some said had less baggage. And a Data for Progress poll this month of Florida GOP voters put DeSantis ahead of Trump, 44% to 42%, in a head-to-head primary matchup.

I could name 24 of them, let’s say. I won’t bore you with it. And then all of a sudden, you have something like this. There is like oh, gee, maybe I’ll talk to the president sometime later. No, it’s amazing. The weak Republicans. They’re pathetic Republicans, and that’s what happens.

If this happened to the Democrats, there’d be held all over the country going on. There’d be hell all over the country. But just remember this, you’re stronger, you’re smarter. You’ve got more going than anybody and they try and demean everybody having to do with us and you’re the real people. You’re the people that built this nation. You’re not the people that tore down our nation.

The weak Republicans–and that’s it, I really believe it. I think I’m going to use the term. The weak Republicans. You’ve got a lot of them and you’ve got a lot of great ones. But you’ve got a lot of weak ones. They’ve turned a blind eye.

Even as Democrats enacted policies that shipped away our jobs, weakend our military, threw open our borders, and put America last. Did you see the other day where Joe Biden said I want to get rid of the America first policy. What’s that all about? Get rid of–how do you say I want to get rid of America first? Even if you’re going to do it, don’t talk about it, right?

Unbelievable, what we have to go through. What we have to go through–and you have to get your people to fight. And if they don’t fight, we have to primary the hell out of the ones that don’t fight. We primary them.

This Is What Trump Told Supporters Before Many Stormed Capitol Hill

The president incited those who attended his rally to march to the Capitol.

Many who participated in the chaos at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday came straight from an event held by President Donald Trump.

Trump’s “Save America Rally” included the president telling supporters to “stop the steal” of the election, urging them to head to the Capitol to demonstrate against Congress certifying President-elect Joe Biden’s victory. Among the crowd’s battle cries was, “Fight for Trump! Fight for Trump! Fight for Trump!”

What To Watch For

Some members of the Republican party distanced themselves from Trump following a string of midterm losses among candidates he supported, many of whom helped him deny the results of the 2020 presidential election. His meeting with rapper Kanye West and prominent white supremacist Nick Fuentes at Mar-A-Lago last month further angered conservatives, who issued condemnations of the dinner. Few Republican leaders have said whether they will support Trump in his next presidential bid as other possible contenders, including former Vice President Mike Pence and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, are weighing their own candidacies.

Donald Trump tries to spell hereby correctly three tweets in a row ...

Trump, who was twice impeached during his four years in office but was not convicted either time, maintains a tight grasp on his Republican base. Six in 10 Republicans back the former president as their party’s leader, according to an ABC News/Washington Post poll from earlier this year.

In the lead-up to the 2022 midterms, Trump’s Super PAC poured millions into key races, and the former president wielded his political power by endorsing hand-picked candidates for major congressional seats, including Senate candidates Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania and Herschel Walker in Georgia. The former president ramped up his already busy rally schedule in the final weeks of the campaign, holding multiple events over the weekend leading into Election Day.

But after at least 30 of Trump’s endorsed candidates, including Oz, lost their races, some have begun to question his ability to continue winning elections for the party.

Trump has already taken aim at some potential presidential primary opponents, including possible 2024 rival Ron DeSantis, who on Tuesday cruised to reelection as governor of Florida. In a statement released last week, Trump attacked DeSantis as an “average” governor, saying that DeSantis was “politically dead” until Trump endorsed him in 2018 and griping over DeSantis’ refusal to say whether he’ll run for president in 2024.

“Well, in terms of loyalty and class, that’s really not the right answer,” Trump said, disparaging the Florida governor as “Ron DeSanctimonious.”

Finishing The Border Wall

Trump made a false claim about one of his signature policies, a wall at the border with Mexico.

We built the wall, and now we will add to it. Now, we built the wall we completed the wall and then we said lets do more, and we did a lot more. And we did a lot more. And as we were doing it, we had an election that came up. And when they came in, they had three more weeks to complete the additions to the wall, which wouldve been great, and they said no, no, were not going to do that, he said.

Fact Check: 20 False And Misleading Claims Trump Made In His Announcement Speech

Former President Donald Trump began his 2024 presidential campaign just as he ended his presidency in 2021: with a whole lot of inaccuracy.
