Requirements To Qualify For A License
The first thing you need to know is that Delaware is a may issue state. This means that the Attorney General or a judge can deny your license even if you have met all the qualifications. To obtain a CCDW license you must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Delaware. You must also be able to legally own or possess a firearm. Follow the steps below to obtain your license.
Step one is to publish your intent to apply for a CCDW license with a newspaper in your county. The newspaper must have a circulation of at least 35% of your zip code. The publication must state your full name and home address as well as your intent to apply for a CCDW license. This publication must appear at least 10 days before you file an application with the court. The newspaper should provide you with a notarized affidavit stating that your ad was run.
Step two is getting fingerprinted. You must set up an appointment for fingerprinting within 45 days of filing an application. Appointments are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 6:30 pm at Delaware State Police Troop offices. Call 739-2528 to set up an appointment.
Step three is to find five respectable citizens of the county where you live and have them complete a reference questionnaire.
Step four is to complete the CCDW application and have it notarized. Use this application if you are a retired police officer.
Delaware / Maryland Concealed Carry Course

The purpose of this course is to provide a solid understanding of the realities and legal considerations of carrying a concealed firearm. This course exceeds all of the training topics required by both the State of Maryland to apply for a Maryland Wear and Carry Permit AKA Handgun Permit and the State of Delaware as outlined in 11 Del. C. § 1441 to apply for a Delaware Concealed Carry of a Deadly Weapon License.
This course also satisfies the training requirement for a Maryland Handgun Qualification License which is required for residents of Maryland to purchase a handgun.
This two day, sixteen hour course will be conducted mostly in a classroom setting with a live fire range portion included at the beginning of day two. The course is held at Schrader’s Outdoors located at 16090 Oakland Road, Henderson, MD 21640.
Both Maryland Residents and Non-Residents may apply for a Maryland Wear & Carry Permit. This course also satisfies the training requirement for either a Florida and/or Arizona permit which would allow a non-Delaware resident to carry concealed in Delaware.
Ohio Ccw Classes And Firearm Instructors
We provide several classes that will certify you to apply for your conceal carry permit. This is an Ohio certified Concealed Carry Competency Course that will help prepare students to apply for a concealed carry permit in the state of Ohio. We are dedicated to training law abiding citizens who want to become proficient in the use of their firearm, and to exercise their right to carry a concealed weapon. Not only do we offer NRA certified courses but we have gone beyond firearms training to survival, defense, women only and kids topics. All supplies are included in our classrooms except firearms and ammo. All classes are registered and paid for online. We also offer private classes. Any course you see, can become a private class for your group at your location. We serve Wayne County and surrounding Counties.

Can I Buy A Gun To Give To Someone Else
Yes and No.
Theres no federal law or NC law that prohibits a gift of a firearm to a relative or friend that lives in your home state. The following states and the District of Columbia require you to transfer a firearm through a local firearms retailer so an instant background check will be performed to make sure the recipient is not legally prohibited from owning the gun. Maryland and Pennsylvania require a background check for private party transfer of a handgun. There are exceptions, so its important to carefully check the law of your state or ask your local firearms retailer.
HOWEVER, dont forget that you can never under any circumstances transfer a firearm to someone you know or have reasonable cause to believe legally cant own one. Thats a federal felony, so be careful. Never agree to purchase a gun for someone you dont know. Thats called a straw purchase. You are basically serving as someone elses patsy and it could get you into BIG trouble.
The ATF and Point Blank Range recommend that if you want to give someone a new firearm, rather than going to a gun store, buying it on your own and giving it to, say your father, consider instead purchasing a gift certificate from that retailer and giving it to Dad as his present. That way hell get the exact gun he wants, and theres no question about who is the actual buyer of the firearm, which is a question every purchaser must certify on the Federal Form 4473 at the time of purchase.

For Quality Training Delaware Patriot Offers The Required Training By Certified Instructors In Delaware
·Publication of your intent: You must publish your full name, your home address and indicate your intent to make application for a Delaware CCDW in a newspaper, published in your county, that has a circulation of at least 35% percent of the population in your ZIP code. Check your local newspapers if they meet this qualification — prices for a legal notice can run from $15-$75 depending on the publication. The notice must run at least ten days before you file your application and the newspaper will send you a notarized letter that your ad was run.
·References: You must have five reference questionnaires completed by people within your county. A link to the form can be found below.
· You must supply two 2″x2″ color passport-style photographs, taken within the past six months. You can have these done at most any camera store for $15.
·Fingerprinting: You must make an appointment to be fingerprinted for a background check performed by the state police. First available appointments can be several weeks from the date you call, so be sure to plan accordingly — call ahead and check their lead time. The background check costs $69 and takes 6-8 weeks to complete however, once you have your receipt of payment, you may file your application with the Prothonotary.
·Application: You must complete your application and have it notorized. You must file all paperwork, as well as a duplicate copy of all paperwork. The filing fee is $65.00 for the first three years.

What Will You Learn In Class

Delaware Concealed Carry Course
Our most popular course the one day, one location Delaware Concealed Carry Course.
The purpose of this course is to provide a solid understanding of the realities and legal considerations of carrying a concealed firearm. This one day course will include approximately four to five hours of classroom instruction followed by approximately one to two hours of range time. The course is held at Schrader’s Outdoors located at 16090 Oakland Road, Henderson, MD 21640.

Tn Carry Permit Training
The Enhanced Carry Permit Class is an 8 hour course consisting of a class presentation and discussion, an exam, and a shooting portion in our range. You must achieve 70% on each exam to pass.

Leosa Allows Qualified Officers To Protect Themselves Their Families And The Community By Being Armed While Off Duty
Qualified officers may use LEOSA only as an affirmative defense if prosecuted. An affirmative defense requires that the finder of fact, the judge, must make a determination of whether the person raising the defense is eligible to do so. To be eligible, the judge must have determined that the person raising the defense is, in fact, a qualified officer under LEOSA and was carrying the required identification at the time of the alleged violation. This means that the act will not keep officers from being arrested. However, LEOSA will stand as a defense at a hearing as to the legality of the arrest if the arrestee is, in fact, a qualified officer with the requisite identification.

There is no required firearms registration in the United States of America.This is also true for the State of North Carolina. However, many gun laws are state laws, so if you dont live in North Carolina you will need to verify this in your own state. Since Point Blank Range is a licensed federal firearms dealer , you will need to fill out government form 4473 when you purchase a gun at Point Blank Range. LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS SAFETY ACT OF 2004
On July 22, 2004, President George W. Bush signed into law H.R. 218, the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act ,30 which created a general nationwide recognition that the public is better served by allowing law enforcement officers to carry their firearms outside of their jurisdictions whether they are on or off duty. The theory behind LEOSA already was recognized among a number of states.31 That is, law enforcement officers retain their identity, training, experience, and dedication to the safety and welfare of the community regardless of whether they are on duty in their employers jurisdiction, going home to another community, or merely traveling for leisure purposes. However, the act creates a limited privilege to carry concealed weapons for law enforcement officers, not a right to bear arms.
Qualification Under LEOSA
Qualified retired officers must have retired in good standing for reasons other than mental instability and served at least an aggregate of 15 years.38 However, if the retirement was due to a service-related disability, the officer need only have completed the probationary period to qualify under this act.39 Retired officers also must have a nonforfeitable right to benefits under their agencys retirement plan.40 At personal expense, the retired officer must meet the state standard for firearms qualification required for active law enforcement officers.41
