Somerset County Completes Record Voter Registration Mails Ballots To All Voters
Somerville, NJ With more than two weeks left in the unprecedented 2020 General Election, Somerset County has completed registering or updating a record 13,000 voter registrations and mailed ballots to every active registered voter. At the same time, the county has received and processed more than 70,000 ballots more than four times the total mail in ballots voted during the 2016 presidential election and is now inputting ballots into the State Voter Registration System within an average of five to seven days of receipt.
This has been an all-hands-on-deck effort to meet the requirements of the 2020 election, with every department in the county lending support to the County Clerk and Board of Elections to ensure a free and fair election, said Somerset County Freeholder Director Shanel Robinson. The voter participation in this election has been extraordinary and we are thrilled to see it. However, we are thankful for the patience of those who were frustrated at not being able to track their ballot.
The 2020 General Election is being conducted with almost all voting conducted remotely on paper ballots and is seeing a heightened level of voter interest. In 2016, there were more than 150,000 ballots cast in Somerset County in the presidential election. The County Clerk has already mailed out more than 250,000 ballots in 2020, and the expectation is there will be far more voters participating this year.

Somerset County to Hold Annual TD Bank Ballpark Drawing
Nonprofits Can Score Free Tickets and Box Seats
SOMERVILLE, NJ Somerset Countys Board of County Commissioners will hold its annual TD Bank Ballpark drawing for community nonprofits and organizations. Winners will receive free tickets to a 2022 Somerset Patriots home game and reserved seating in the Commissioners community box at the TD Bank Ballpark located in Bridgewater. Winners will be announced in March.
Over the past two years we have seen how vital charitable organizations are to Somerset County, and we know that we could not have survived the pandemic or Hurricane Ida without the help of these organizations, said Commissioner Director Shanel Y. Robinson. This drawing is one small way for Somerset County to thank those who are tirelessly dedicated to supporting worthy causes for the County.
There are 30 seats in the Commissioners community box, which is set apart from 6,000 other seats at the ballpark. The community box provide a spectacular view of the baseball field.

The Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate, have announced that the team has been cleared to return home to TD Bank Ballpark for games this weekend from Friday, Sept. 10 through Sunday, Sept. 12.
Like much of the surrounding area, TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater was underwater and suffered damage caused by the flooding from Tropical Storm Ida. The Patriots moved the first three games of the series against the Hartford Yard Goats to Dunkin Donuts Park as the teams waited to see where the final three games would be able to be played.
Wed like to thank Major League Baseball, the Yankees, and the Colorado Rockies for their support and guidance during this difficult time, said Patriots president/general manager Patrick McVerry. It goes without saying how thankful we are that our friends at the Yard Goats took us in this week. They stepped up and made our team feel welcome when we couldnt be at home.
Once the water receded from the field, the Patriots grounds crew, led by Dan Purner, and the teams front office worked to get the ballpark back in shape to host games.

Long Islands offense highlighted by Vega and Songco
The Long Island Ducks split a single admission doubleheader with the Somerset Patriots on Tuesday night at Bethpage Ballpark, winning the opener 8-4 before falling in game two 8-2.
Somerset took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game one on an RBI single by Greg Golson off Ducks starter Henry Hirsch. Long Island answered in the bottom of the frame with an RBI single from Angelo Songco off Patriots starter Lucas Irvine. An RBI triple from Scott Kelly in the second put the Patriots back on top, but Lew Fords run-scoring groundout and another RBI single from Songco in the third put the Ducks ahead 3-2.
The Patriots briefly tied the game in the top of the fourth on an RBI double by Alfredo Rodriguez. However, a four-run bottom of the frame gave Long Island the lead for good at 7-3. Run-scoring doubles from Anthony Vega and Songco, along with a two-run single by Elmer Reyes, highlighted the inning.
Both sides traded runs in the fifth to round out the scoring. A sacrifice fly off the bat of Aharon Eggleston and an RBI double by Fehlandt Lentini made it an 8-4 ballgame.
Christian Marrero opened the scoring for the Patriots in game two with an RBI double in the second inning off Ducks starter Matt Larkins. Two more runs in the fourth on Tyler Bortnicks RBI single and a wild pitch increased the lead to three.

Somerset Patriots To Play Ball This Weekend After Flooding
BRIDGEWATER, NJ In just one week since Tropical Storm Ida flooded out TD Bank Ballpark, the Somerset Patriots say they are dried out and ready to play ball this weekend.
“We are excited to announce that we should be all set to play our home games at TD Bank Ballpark this weekend,” said Somerset Patriots President/General Manager Patrick McVerry. “These games are even a possibility because of the tireless work of our grounds crew, led by Dan Purner, our staff, and the amazing support of this community. We look forward to being able to open the ballpark and show everyone just how resilient we all are here in New Jersey!”
Following the flooding on Sept. 1, the Patriots moved the first three games of the series against the Hartford Yard Goats to Dunkin Donuts Park until the cleanup was completed.
The upcoming games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday against the Hartford Yard Goats will be played at the stadium in Bridgewater.

TD Bank Ballpark at 860 E Main St, Bridgewater Township, NJ 08807 is the home of the Somerset Patriots. The ballpark opened in 1999 and has a total seating capacity of 6,100 that can be expandable up to 8,500 with standing room only sections. The TD Bank Ballpark seating chart offers three tiers of reserved seating with additional party deck and lawn seating sections.
The 100 level of the stadium is made up of premium field box seating that puts fans closest to the field and the players. Section 102 on the Somerset Patriots seating chart is located directly behind home plate, while sections 111, 113 and 115 are behind the Patriots dugout. Sections 112, 114, and 116 are located behind the visiting teams dugout. The 200 level is known as the upper box section, while the 300 level is known as the field box level.
Somerset Patriots Single Game Tickets For May Go On Sale On April 5th

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees Double-A Affiliate, have announced that single game tickets for home games for the month of May will go on sale on Monday, April 5th at 10:00 am.
Tickets will only be available for sale via somersetpatriots.com, by phone at 252-0700, or on the team’s mobile app. Tickets will not be available to purchase at the box office at this time.
The Patriots are currently operating at 30% capacity with health and safety guidelines in place from Major League Baseball, as well as local and state authorities. All seats are being sold in socially distanced pods. Pod sizes range from one to six seats and pod sizes are limited. Guests must purchase all tickets in a pod, so if a fan selects a pod of four tickets, all four must be purchased. Pod sizes cannot be adjusted.
Due to contractual commitments to previously sold packages, in addition to current and expected guidelines in the state of New Jersey, available tickets for May games at TD Bank Ballpark will be extremely limited and are expected to sell out quickly. All single game tickets will be on a first come, first served basis.
The Patriots will be releasing additional tickets for games in June and beyond at a to be determined later date. The team hopes to be able to expand single game ticket inventory as guidelines change throughout the spring and summer.

Somerset County Surrogate And Clerks Offices To Suspend Extended Hours Nov 24 In Celebration Of Thanksgiving
SOMERVILLE, NJ On Wednesday, Nov. 24, the Somerset County Surrogates Office and Clerks Office, located in the Administration Building at 20 Grove St., Somerville, will close ate 4:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. respectively to allow staff and the public to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. Extended hours of operation will resume on Wednesday, Dec. 1, when the offices will close at 6 p.m.
