The “Helmet Catch” was a famous, miraculous play made by Giants’ quarterback Eli Manning and wide receiver David Tyree in the final minutes of Super Bowl XLII in 2008. The Giants were down 14-10 in the game’s fourth and final quarter, looking to make a comeback against the dominant New England team. In the final two minutes of the game, on third down and 5 from the Giants’ 44-yard line, Eli Manning managed to escape the Patriots’ defensive line and make a pass before being tackled by Patriots’ linebacker Mike Vrabel. Coming off their road win over the Lions, the Giants went home for a Week 12 intraconference duel with the Minnesota Vikings. In the fourth quarter, the Vikings’ safety Dwight Smith returned an interception 93 yards for a touchdown, along with LB Chad Greenway returning an interception 37 yards for a touchdown. New York’s QB Eli Manning completed a 6-yard TD pass to WR Plaxico Burress to complete the scoring.
With the loss, the Giants fell to 74.
Eli Manning was intercepted four times . He became the third NFL QB since 1970 to have three interceptions get returned for touchdowns. His performance was all the more embarrassing as the Vikings had the league’s worst pass defense in 2007 , and were playing in this game without starting corner Antoine Winfield.

It looks like Cam Newton’s preseason snap count will be 39. That is a very small sample size if they’re evaluating him against Mac Jones. Perhaps it indicates the Patriots have made up their mind on Newton.

On Thursday, the Patriots will attempt to finish the preseason unbeaten when they visit the New York Giants as three-point road underdogs at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark.
New England backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been solid through the first three exhibition games in preparation to be the starter in Brady’s absence following a four-game suspension for his role in the Deflategate scandal.

Garoppolo was 9-of-15 for 57 yards, his lowest total in the first three games. Brissett, a third-round draft pick from North Carolina State, will likely see most of the snaps against New York, though, as the Patriots try to keep their top players healthy.
