President Donald Trump Full Acceptance Speech at 2020 Republican National Convention

The former president is eyeing up Corey Lewandowski to head up the new super PAC, Fox News reported.

Lewandowski served as Trump’s campaign manager in 2016, before being fired in the 2016 presidential primaries.

He remained close with the president, acting as an outside adviser, before becoming a top adviser on Trump’s 2020 re-election run.

The decision to start the new venture was reportedly made during a meeting last week in when Trump met with his political team.

At the meeting, according to the outlet, was 2020 campaign managers Bill Stepien and Brad Parscale, senior adviser Jason Miller, former White House social media director Dan Scavino, and his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.

Nyt: Trump Lawyers ‘knew Fake Electors Scheme Was Illegal’

The New York Times has between associates of former president Donald Trump, including some from lawyers in which they purportedly acknowledge a scheme to keep him office was likely illegal.

Some of the messages refer to fake electors who were in place in certain key states to falsely declare Trump the winner of the 2020 election, and prevent Joe Biden from reaching the White House.

The Times said they showed a particular focus on assembling lists of people who would claim with no basis to be electoral college electors on his behalf in battleground states that he had lost.

One lawyer used the word fake to refer to the so-called electors, the Times said, while lawyers working on the proposal made clear they knew that the pro-Trump electors they were putting forward might not hold up to legal scrutiny.

SCOOP: @lukebroadwater and I reviewed dozens of emails between Trump campaign officials and lawyers, including one in which a lawyer described the slates of electors they were putting together as fake

The fake electors scheme was a central plank of Trumps strategy to remain in power, and has become a focus of the House panel investigating his insurrection. In declaring Trump the rightful winner, the committee asserts, the fake electors goal was persuading the then vice-president, Mike Pence, as Senate president, to refuse to certify Bidens victory.

When Is Trump Speaking On Cpac

Former President Donald Trump will speak at the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference on Sunday, February 28, 2021.

“You’re going to see a speech on Sunday that talks about not only the beginning, but what the future may look like, and I’m excited about it,” former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows told Fox News.

“I spoke to President Trump last night for a fairly lengthy conversation where were talking about America, where it needs to go, continuing the America first agenda.”

“But more importantly than that, how this president – Biden – has undermined that particular policy within days, and we see it.”

This year’s CPAC will bring together conservative lawmakers, activists, and Republican Party officials to Orlando, Florida.

Trump Teases 2024 White House Run

Donald Trump on Tuesday dropped more hints that he will imminently announce a third run at the White House.

In a largely subdued, and scripted, 90-minute speech to the America First Agenda summit in Washington DC, his first visit to the capital since leaving office last year, Trump said it would be his very great honor to run again, and that if he didnt our nation is doomed.

But he stopped short of outright declaring his candidacy, the former president mindful he is mired in legal and political jeopardy amid numerous investigations into the insurrection and attempt to stay in office following his 2020 defeat to Joe Biden.

Trump said he could not just sit at home while the persecution continued:

I cant do that because I love our country. And I cant do that because I love the people of our country. So I cant do that. I wouldnt do it, and people dont want me to do it.

Im not doing this for me because I had a very luxurious life. I had a very simple life. People say you sure you want to do this? But you know, theres an expression. The best day of your life is the day before you run for president. And I laughed at it. I said that may be true, actually.

Trumps speech was intended to be a laying out of Republican policy agenda for the November midterms and beyond, but it pivoted into a succession of familiar old Trump grievances, including attacks on Democrats over crime, immigration and the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Trump Repeats Claims Of Election Fraud

President Trump Just Became the 1st Sitting President to Address This ...

The former president bucked calls from some Republican leaders for him to downplay his persistent, and unfounded claims, that he only lost the 2020 presidential election through coordinated malfeasance, with some in the party saying the focus has alienated would-be supporters.

Trump dismissed the congressional panel probing his role in the January 6 attack, an investigation that could possibly lead to the Department of Justice pursuing criminal charges against him, as hacks and thugs.

If I renounced my beliefs, if I agreed to stay silent, if I stayed at home and just took it easy, the persecution of Donald Trump would stop immediately, he said. But thats not what I will do. I cant do that.

They really want to damage me so I can no longer go back to work for you. And I dont think thats going to happen, Trump said.

Supporters Think Trump Was ‘set Up’

The crowd was on his side when it came to the FBI’s search.

This region supported Mr Trump in the 2020 election, even though Pennsylvania overall slipped from his grasp and chose Mr Biden.

Two supporters had already procured “Defund the FBI” T-shirts to wear to the rally.

Gail McCloskey, from the city of Altoona, nearly a three-hour drive away, told the BBC she thought the FBI visit was “a set up”.

Meanwhile, Kelly Borgogelli, 60, who had driven four hours from Buffalo, New York, to see Mr Trump, said: “They’re just going after him for pure hate.”

Asked if she believed any of the multiple accusations made against Mr Trump over the years – that he incited a violent mob to storm the US Capitol last year, that he improperly pressured Ukraine’s president to investigate his political enemies, or that he falsified claims of election fraud in 2020 – Mrs Borgogelli replied she did not.

“They’ve never given us any proof,” she said.

Her companion, Maureen Ewart, 62, said if the justice department actually charged Mr Trump, the country would be “divided”.

“It will be crowded out there, the streets will be full,” Ms Ewart said, emphasising that she did not condone violence – but feared any criminal charges against the former president could spark civil unrest.

At one point, Mr Trump himself claimed that the latest investigation into his possession of government documents was “going to produce a backlash” the likes of which the country had not seen before.

An Analysis Of President Donald Trumps Use Of Language

04.2018 | Tiffany Markman

Is Trumps unique brand of presidential oratory deliberate and strategic, is it the disjointed output of a disordered mind, or is it something else?

Like him or hate him, President Donald Trump is a unique politician because he doesnt speak like one. In many ways, hes used language to create a brand for himself one that leverages a feeling of strength, a sense of determination, and an impression that he can get the job done.

Sedensky points out that Trumps is a brand of presidential oratory not previously recorded different from what the public come to expect.

Now, is this deliberate and strategic, or are Trumps explosive noun phrases, self-interruptions, departures from the theme, flashes of memory and side remarks symptomatic of a person with a concentration problem?

Lets look at six of the linguistic devices commonly used in Trumpian speech: hyperbole, repetition and intensifiers directness sentence fragments digressions and segues grade level and sales talk.

For or against?

On the one hand, Barton Swaim, one-time speechwriter for former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, points out that Trumpian speeches are characterised by broken sentences and bizarre asides.

Theyre not sustained arguments but rather a mishmash of disjointed statements that dont combine into something greater. Are these the output, as many journalists, academics and scientists suggest, of a disordered mind?

How To Watch Trump Speech: Time Live Stream For Cpac Remarks

Donald Trump teases presidential run at 2021 CPAC speech | DW News

Former President Donald Trump will close out the third day of the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Florida, on Saturdayalmost a year after he used the event to tease another presidential campaign.

Trump has maintained his hold on the GOP since leaving the Oval Office and has asserted himself as the leader of the party, potentially paving the way for a White House bid if he decides to run again. Speakers who took to the CPAC stage over the weekend were predominantly Trump allies, aligning themselves with the former president’s view over the country’s future.

Trump, who led a straw poll of CPAC attendees last year, will be the final speaker of Saturday’s events event and is expected to take the stage on Saturday at 7 p.m ET. His speech will be live streamed on Fox Nation, Fox News‘ on-demand streaming platform CPAC’s website and the Right Side Broadcasting channel. C-SPAN will also carry Trump’s remarks.

Trump will likely lambast President Joe Biden for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In an interview last week, the former president said that he “always knew” Russian President Vladimir Putin had his eye on Ukraine and that the two leaders discussed it multiple times. Trump said he squashed the idea of Russia invading Ukraine, telling the Russian president he “can’t” do it, even though it was clear he wanted to.

Both Parties Eye Pennsylvania

The state is vital to Democrats’ hopes as well. They want to pick up a US Senate seat by propelling Lt Gov John Fetterman to victory.

The governor’s race has taken on extra significance with Mr Mastriano’s landslide win in the Republican primary. He attended the 6 January 2021 attack on the US Congress and played a key role in efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Pennsylvania.

Should he win the governorship, he would have significant power over the state’s election implementation.

To oppose him, Democrats have put forth the state’s attorney general, Josh Shapiro, and President Biden held several high-profile events in the state in recent days to help whip up the Democratic base.

In fact, he also visited Wilkes-Barre, on 30 August to give a major speech about guns and public safety and two days ago he gave a primetime address in Philadelphia.

He argued that Trump’s ideology – which he called “Maga Republicans” after his predecessor’s famous campaign slogan – threatened American democracy.

“Not every Republican, not even a majority of Republicans, are Maga Republicans,” Mr Biden said.

“But there’s no question the Republican Party today is dominated, driven and intimidated by Donald Trump and the Maga Republicans, and that is a threat to this country.”

On Saturday, Mr Trump called Mr Biden’s address the most “vicious hateful and divisive speech ever delivered by an American president”.

Trump Stops Short Of Declaring His Candidacy

Since leaving office, speculation has grown over if and when Trump would announce his plan to run again for a second term, as is permitted under the US constitution.

But while Tuesdays speech resembled those the former reality television personality made on the campaign trail in his presidential bids in 2016 and 2020, Trump on Tuesday stopped short of declaring his candidacy to be the Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election.

I always say I ran the first time and I won, then I ran a second time and I did much better, Trump said. We may just have to do it again. We have to straighten out our country.

He added the tease: I look forward to laying out many more details in the weeks and months to come.

The New York Times and several US media outlets have reported Trump has told allies he was weighing announcing his candidacy as early as this summer.

Could Donald Trump Face Ron Desantis On The Republican Ticket For President

Having Trump and DeSantis speaking at the same time on different sides of the state Saturday highlights Floridas status as the center of the GOP universe, and the growing rivalry between the partys two biggest stars.

Trump increasingly has indicated that he plans to run for president again, but polls show many Republicans would prefer DeSantis as the next GOP presidential nominee. DeSantis routinely ranks second in GOP presidential primary polling to Trump, and has inched ahead of the former president in some state surveys.

The Florida GOP event in Hollywood will be the DeSantis show, with the governor presiding over a party that Trump reshaped in his own image but now seems to be gravitating towards a younger standard bearer with some of Trumps pugnaciousness, but less baggage.

Trump isnt giving up his grip on the party willingly, though, even as a range of other figures including Hawley and Cruz subtly jockey with DeSantis to emerge as the GOPs next national leader.

All of that ambition will be on display in Tampa and Hollywood this weekend, providing a potential preview of whats to come in 2024.

Donald Trump: What We Learned From His Rally In Pennsylvania

Did President Trump " appear to incite violence" with his 1/6 tweets and ...

Donald Trump has called President Joe Biden an “enemy of the state” at his first rally since the FBI searched his Florida resort for sensitive files.

Speaking to thousands of supporters in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the ex-president accused Mr Biden of weaponising the FBI against him.

Mr Trump branded the search “one of the most shocking abuses of power by any administration in American history”.

He was in the state to promote two Republican candidates.

Dr Mehmet Oz is running for the US Senate, and state Senator Doug Mastriano is in the race to become Pennsylvania’s next governor.

Both spoke only briefly – as always, the rally on Saturday night was really about one person: the headliner.

Mr Trump, 76, spent the first part of his nearly two-hour speech criticising the FBI search early last month.

FBI agents conducting the search found dozens of empty folders marked as classified, and top secret files were recovered from his personal office.

Mr Trump, who is being investigated over his handling of classified records, denies wrongdoing.

The former president also returned to other familiar themes at the Pennsylvania rally: false claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him, attacks on rivals in the Democratic Party, and promises to “save our country”.

Several times, he called for people who deal drugs to receive the death penalty.

Here are four key things you need to know about Donald Trump’s rally.
