Did Donald Trump Get Hit By A Car

Donald Trump Endorses Police Brutality In Speech To Cops

Protesters hit by cars outside McClellan Park during Trump visit

WASHINGTON President Donald Trump received applause on Friday when he endorsed police brutality while delivering a speech to law enforcement officers on Long Island, New York.

The president suggested that officers should hit suspects heads on the doors of their police cars.

When you see these towns and when you see these thugs being thrown into the back of a paddy wagon, you just see them thrown in, rough, and I said, Please dont be too nice, Trump said.

Like when you guys put somebody in the car and youre protecting their head, you know, the way you put their hand over, like, dont hit their head and theyve just killed somebody, dont hit their head, I said, You can take the hand away, OK? he added.

His remarks received significant applause.

Trump also made the dubious claim that laws were horrendously stacked against police officers and said he wants to change those laws.

For years and years, been made to protect the criminal, Trump said. Totally protect the criminal, not the officers. You do something wrong, youre in more jeopardy than they are. These laws are stacked against you. Were changing those laws.

It Bounced Twice And Then Went Clank Into The Hole The Former President Claimed In March 2022

Advertisment:

In March 2022, former U.S. President Donald Trump published a lengthy and detailed official statement in which he claimed to have hit a hole-in-one at his own golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Concrete evidence is lacking, but the response of putative witnesses to the event suggests it is more likely than not that Trump did, in fact, pull off the impressive feat. However, without definitive proof, we are issuing a rating of “Unproven,” for now. If definitive evidence becomes available, we will update this fact check accordingly.

In his March 28 statement, released via spokespersons Liz Harrington and Taylor Budowich, Trump wrote:

Many people are asking, so I’ll give it to you now, it is 100% true. While playing with the legendary golfer, Ernie Els,…Gene Sauers,…Ken Duke, and Mike Goodes,…I made a hole-in-one.

It took place at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on the 7th hole, which was playing 181-yards into a slight wind. I hit a 5-iron, which sailed magnificently into a rather strong wind, with approximately 5 feet of cut, whereupon it bounced twice and then went clank, into the hole.

Depending on each player’s handicap and tee box , the 7th hole stretches between 117 and 191 yards from the tee to the hole. Trump claimed to have played the hole at 181 yards . The illustration below shows the layout of the hole on the golf course’s website:

Were Not Going To Escort A Bus

The amended complaint in the lawsuit against officials said that a San Marcos crime analyst and a Biden supporter both alerted city police that the Biden bus was being followed by Trump supporters as it traveled to a scheduled campaign stop at Texas State University in San Marcos.

While Stapp, the public safety director, told the Biden supporter that San Marcos police would send backup, he did not order an escort. The complaint said he sent the information to Winkenwerder, the assistant police chief. Winkerwerder also did not order an escort or assistance, the complaint alleges. Instead, he told officers to close patrol the area near the university.

When the Biden bus entered San Marcos jurisdiction, a New Braunfels 911 dispatcher attempted to get San Marcos police to take over the escort that city had provided along Interstate 35.

The 911 dispatcher in San Marcos put the New Braunfels dispatcher and the Biden campaign staffer who was pleading for assistance on hold and called Daenzer, the police supervisor on duty.

I am so annoyed at New Braunfels for doing this to us, the dispatcher tells Daenzer, who answered the call and began laughing, according to the transcribed recording in the filing. They have their officers escorting this Biden bus, essentially, and the Trump Train is cutting in between vehicles and driving being aggressive and slowing them down to like 20 or 30 miles per hour. And they want you guys to respond to help.

Congress Dithered While Us Withered

An irate Donald Trump tried to grab the steering wheel of the presidential SUV away from his Secret Service driver in a desperate effort to join his armed supporters on Jan. 6, 2021 shouting, Im the fing president! Take me up to the Capitol now! according to shocking testimony from a top former White House aide.

Cassidy Hutchinson, who worked for Trumps then-chief of staff Mark Meadows, relayed the stunning anecdote Tuesday in front of the House select committee investigating the riot in which Trumps supporters disrupted certification of President Bidens election victory.

Secret Service agent Bobby Engel stopped the 45th president from steering the vehicle toward the Capitol to join the mob that he had just finished telling to fight like hell to stop the election from being stolen, she said.

An unnamed source close to the Secret Service later denied the account to numerous news outlets, including ABC, CBS and NBC, and said that both Engel and the SUVs driver are willing to testify under oath.

Hutchinson testified that immediately after returning to the West Wing from Trumps speech, White House deputy chief of staff for operations Tony Ornato told her about a clash inside the presidential Beast limo involving Engel and Trump though the incident actually would have taken place inside an SUV that transported Trump to and from his speech.

Nobody had told Trump that the Secret Service determined it wasnt possible to go to the Capitol, the aide explained.

WASHINGTON Soon after his speech on the Ellipse ended on Jan. 6, 2021, President Donald J. Trump stepped into the back of a black Suburban bearing the presidential seal.

What happened next has become a matter of intense debate after explosive testimony on Tuesday by Cassidy Hutchinson, a former White House aide who said Mr. Trump became enraged when his security detail refused to take him to the Capitol.

Speaking before the House committee investigating the attack, Ms. Hutchinson said she had been told by Anthony M. Ornato, a deputy White House chief of staff, that Mr. Trump tried to grab the wheel of his vehicle when he was told he could not go to the Capitol to join his supporters. Ms. Hutchinson also said Mr. Ornato told her the president lunged at his lead Secret Service agent, Robert Engel.

Ms. Hutchinson made clear in her public testimony that she did not have direct knowledge of the incident, but that Mr. Ornato recounted it to her with Mr. Engel present in the room. It remains unclear what, if anything, the committee did to corroborate it.

Former President Trump Weighs In On Death Of Teen At Hands Of Suv Driver

FOSTER CO., N.D. There is little indication that an 18-year-old who died after being struck by an SUV in McHenry, North Dakota in Foster County was a political extremist like the driver claimed.

And now former President Donald Trump is weighing in.

Shannon Brandt is accused of hitting Cayler Ellingson with his vehicle on September 18th following a street dance.

Investigators say none of the witnesses they have interviewed support the idea that there was a political argument beforehand.

A family friend said the teen wasnt active in politics.

Court documents said Brandt told a 911 dispatcher that he felt threatened after having a political argument with Ellingson, and that he believed the teen was part of a Republican extremist group.

North Dakota Highway Patrol Capt. Bryan Niewind says authorities have talked to dozens of witnesses, and the confrontation doesnt appear political at all.

When Brandt called 911 he identified that there was maybe a political motivation to what was occurring. Thats the only individual that weve heard that from so far. We havent been able to corroborate that at all, said Niewind.

At a rally in North Carolina on Friday, former President Donald Trump told the crowd the deadly incident would be getting more attention if the victim was on the far left.

Brandt was released from jail on a $50,000 bond.

A Funny Thing Happened In Trumps Suv On The Way To The Capitol Riot

Donald Trump has long insisted that his Secret Service prevented him from joining the mob who stormed the Capitol on January 6, and now we know that struggle apparently took place in a moving vehicle: According to testimony shared by a top aide to Mark Meadows on Tuesday, our then 75-year-old president attempted to wrestle the steering wheel of his SUV from a Secret Service agent while being escorted away from the riot.

Today’s testimony makes clear that Trump wanted to go to the Capitol with the armed mob, despite warnings not to do so from his advisors. When the Secret Service ruled out the possibility, the former President erupted in anger in the Suburban he was riding in.

January 6th Committee

The whole thing sounds predictably unhinged. Trump might have had an easier time getting there had he just stuck with his original plan: Were going to walk down to the Capitol, he told the assembled mob. Ill be there with you.

Biden Says Us Strike Dynamite In A Tinderbox

In the US, the news of Soleimanis killing generated starkly different reactions along party lines, with Republicans heaping praise on Trump and Democrats expressing concerns about the timing, legality and consequences of the strike.

Former Vice President Joe Biden, a Democratic presidential frontrunner, warned that the US strike could trigger a conflict across the Middle East.

President Trump just tossed a stick of dynamite into a tinderbox, and he owes the American people an explanation of the strategy and plan to keep safe our troops and embassy personnel, our people and our interests, both here at home and abroad, and our partners throughout the region and beyond, Biden tweeted.

Sen. Chris Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat, emphasized that Soleimani was an enemy of the United States in a tweet, but asked: The question is this as reports suggest, did America just assassinate, without any congressional authorization, the second most powerful person in Iran, knowingly setting off a potential massive regional war?

Some key members of Congress such as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, a New York Democrat who is a member of the congressional Gang of Eight leaders, who are briefed on classified matters had not been made aware of the attack ahead of time. Its unclear how many other lawmakers had advance notice of the strike.

Allegations Of Poking Fun At The Attack

Watch: Secret Service run to Trump as protester rushes stage

According to the filing, plaintiffs argue a text message between some of the San Marcos police officers who refused to provide assistance poked fun at the attack.

To support that claim, the lawsuit refers to a group text message among San Marcos officers, including Winkenwerder, in which an unidentified person appears to refer to Democrats who drove through town as a derogatory slang term for someone who is mentally disabled.

The following day, Chase Stapp, the public safety director, texted multiple officers about the situation, according to Fridays filing. From what I can gather, the Biden bus never even exited I-35 thanks to the Trump escort.

Yet in the days afterward, after news of the melee spread, officers started calling the event a debacle in internal emails and braced for a political fire storm after officers realized that what happened in San Marcos might lead to political and legal consequences, the complaint alleges.

When Daenzer wrote the report of the incident four days later, he said due to the staffing issues, lack of time to plan, and lack of knowledge of the route, we were unable to provide an escort.

A spokesperson for the city of San Marcos told The Texas Tribune last year that police responded to requests to assist the bus, but traffic prevented officers from catching up before the bus left the city limits.

Trump Adviser Roger Stone Said He Was A Victim In Florida Hit

Longtime friend of President Trump and informal adviser Roger J. Stone Jr. said he was a passenger in a vehicle struck Wednesday in a hit-and-run collision in Pompano Beach, Fla.

Stone, no stranger to conspiracy theories over the many years of his political career, which dates to the Nixon era, told The Washington Post via email that it is possible that this was deliberate. He noted the vehicles dark windshield, possibly fake tag number and the speed with which the driver fled the crash scene.

The car I was riding in was hit broadside at the front passenger side door, said Stone, a Republican operative with former president Richard Nixons face tattooed on his upper back. I was in the front passenger seat. The air bags deployed to my right and front. The driver who hit us backed up, shifted gears and took off.

The Broward County Sheriffs Office did not respond immediately to The Washington Posts request for comment late Wednesday. CBS4 Miami confirmed with the local authorities that a hit-and-run vehicle accident occurred at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection that Stone had described.

The driver of the struck vehicle, John Kakanis, confirmed to CBS4 that Stone was in the passengers seat. A witness, Ron Snowden, also told the Miami news station that he saw a man who resembled Stone at the scene.

Stone said in a post that he was fine, other than blurred vision in his right eye, which he said was previously injured in a boxing match.

Trump Touts Jobs In Michigan Falsely Claims He Saved Auto Industry

FREELAND President Donald Trump visited Michigan on Thursday to tout jobs, falsely claim he saved the U.S. auto industry and ask supporters to remember the roaring economy before the coronavirus turned American life upside down.

Speaking to a crowd of about 5,500 at a hangar at MBS International Airport, Trump took jabs at Democratic opponent Joe Biden and implored Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, whom he called a liberal hypocrite, to open up your state from coronavirus restrictions.

Im running for re-election to keep jobs in Michigan, the Republican president told supporters. Last year, before the China plague came… we had the greatest economy in the history of the world.

It was the presidents first campaign stop in Michigan since late May, when he visited a Ford Motor Co. plant in Rawsonville. His Thursday visit to Michigan came one day after Biden, the former vice president, visited union workers in Warren and Detroit.

Like Biden, Trump chose a politically significant spot for the visit. Saginaw County is one of the handful of Michigan counties that voted twice for former President Barack Obama but flipped to support Trump in 2016 by just over 1,000 votes.

Trump and Biden are vying for working-class voters seen by some experts as the key to carrying Michigan, which again is a battleground in the presidential campaign.

Here are some takeaways from Trumps visit:

Bob Woodward Is A Wack Job

Trump acknowledged the coronavirus what he called the plague has waylaid the economy, led to massive unemployment and killed more than 190,000 Americans, including nearly 7,000 Michiganders.

Trump blamed Whitmer, Biden and other Democrats for those losses, arguing theyve flippantly shuttered the economy. His reprisals against Whitmer garnered some of the heartiest applause of the evening.

Tell your governor to open up your state these Democrat governors, I think they do it for political reasons, he said to cheers. It would be better if you had a governor who knew what the hell she was doing.

The presidents visit came the day after it was revealed that he knew about the dangers of the coronavirus since early February and then admitted to downplaying it in interviews with journalist Bob Woodward earlier this year.

Whitmer, who is a national co-chair of Bidens campaign, called Trumps handling of the pandemic reckless earlier Thursday.

I think the biggest enemy of the state right now is the misinformation that’s coming out of the head of state, she said. And the biggest threat to the American people is the American president right now.

Trump addressed Woodwards revelations late in his speech, calling the journalist a wack job and saying he intended not to alarm the American people.
