Trump Other Republican Officials And Influencers Divided Over Tennessee Us House Endorsement

Though the filing deadline for U.S. House candidates in Tennessee is almost two months away, prominent Republican officials and influencers have already issued competing endorsements in the 5th District primary. Located in the Nashville area, the 5th District had heavily favored Democrats under the 2010 district maps but is expected to strongly favor Republicans under the new district maps.

Former President Donald Trump endorsed former U.S. Department of State spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus on Jan. 25. Ortagus announced her bid this week. Several other elected Republicans and commentators have backed filmmaker Robby Starbuck.

Trump said Ortagus understands the threats posed by China, Russia, Iran and others, and will be tough, not just roll over like the Democrats and RINOs. She serves in the U.S. Navy Reserves and will fight for our Military. She wont bow to the Woke Mob or the Leftist LameStream Media.

U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn reiterated his endorsement of Starbuck following Trumps Ortagus endorsement. U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and former Trump administration official Sebastian Gorka endorsedStarbuck shortly after Trumps endorsement. Political commentator Candace Owens tweeted, Nope. Trump has this completely wrong. @robbystarbuck is the correct pick for Tennessees 5th district and Tennesseans have his back.

Ortagus and Starbuck are among five candidates running in the GOP primary so far. The filing deadline is April 7 and the primary, Aug. 4.

Trump and Cohn lost that case when the countersuit was dismissed and the government’s case went forward. In 1975, an agreement was struck requiring Trump’s properties to furnish the New York Urban League with a list of all apartment vacancies, every week for two years, among other things. Cohn introduced political consultant to Trump, who enlisted Stone’s services to deal with the federal government.

In Addition To Candidates For Elected Office Republican Voters Will Get A Chance To Vote On 10 Ballot Propositions

Over the weekend, the Texas State Republican Executive Committee convened for one of their quarterly meetings and, among other items of business, approved 10 ballot propositions which will appear on the Republican primary election ballot for the March 1, 2022 primary.

The outcome of these propositions will be used to help guide the partys policy priorities with regard to the distinct legislative priorities and party platform as determined by delegates in the state convention.

Republican voters will have the option to vote in favor or in opposition to the following ballot propositions:

  • Border Security
  • Parents Rights and Critical Race Theory
  • Right to Life
  • Ballot Proposition Language and Background

    Prop 1: Border Security

In light of the federal governments refusal to defend the southern border, Texas should immediately deploy the National Guard, Texas Military Forces, and necessary state law enforcement to seal the border, enforce immigration laws, and deport illegal aliens.

The 87th Legislature appropriated $1.08 billion in the regular legislative session earlier this year for border security efforts. In the second-called special legislative session they appropriated an additional $1.8 billion amounting to an almost $3 billion total in response to a surge of illegal immigration along the Texas-Mexico border and the lack of attention from the federal government to the growing issue.

    Prop 2: Eliminate Property Tax

    Prop 3: Vaccine Mandate

What Makes The 2024 Presidential Election Unique

The lead up to the 2024 presidential election is different from past years because of former President Donald Trump. Hes eligible to run for a second term, and has publicly toyed with the idea while also weighing in on other Republicans he thinks could be the future of the party. If Trump does run in 2024, hed start out with unparalleled name ID and massive support, but if he doesnt, the field could be wide open for other Republicans hoping to win over his supporters. President Joe Biden said recently he expects to run for reelection in 2024.

This early on, wannabe candidates must raise their profiles, show their commitment to the party, and raise money, one Republican strategist said, to get on peoples radars even when your candidacy is in a holding pattern.

Some of the most visible 2024 presidential candidates will surely flame out long before the Iowa caucus, and theres always the chance that the next Republican nominee isnt yet considered a serious player . Theres a million and one things that will happen between now and then that will shape the race in ways we cant now predict, but the invisible primary that comes before any votes are cast has started.

Heres your very early guide to some of 2024s Republican presidential candidates, based on early polling, interviews with Republican donors and strategists and results from online political betting markets.

Former Us Ambassador To The United Nations Nikki Haley

Haley, 49, stands out in the potential pool of 2024 Republican candidates by her resume. She has experience as an executive as the former governor of South Carolina and foreign policy experience from her time as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

Haley was a member of the Republican Partys 2010 tea party class. A former South Carolina state representative, her long shot gubernatorial campaign saw its fortunes improve after she was endorsed by Sarah Palin. Haley rocketed from fourth to first just days after the endorsement, and she went on to clinch the nomination and become her states first female and first Indian-American governor.

As governor, she signed a bill removing the Confederate flag from the state Capitol following the white supremacist attack at the Emanuel African Methodist Church in Charleston. She left office in 2017 to join the Trump administration as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, and Quinnipiac poll found she was at one point the most popular member of Trumps foreign policy team.

I think that shes done a pretty masterful job in filling out her resume, said Robert Oldendick, a professor and director of graduate studies at the University of South Carolinas department of political science.

Haley criticized Trump following the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol by his supporters, saying she was disgusted by his conduct. Oldendick said he thought her pretty pointed criticism of the president will potentially cause some problems.

Florida Looms Large In Republican 2024 Primary

Texas Governor Abbott, Attorney General Paxton Each Face Two Major Challengers In Republican Primary

Florida is emerging as the epicenter of the early fight for the GOP presidential nomination as speculation grows about the possibility of as many as four Republicans from the Sunshine State pursuing the partys nod in 2024.

Among the Floridians seen as potential White House hopefuls are Gov. Ron DeSantis , Sens. and Rick Scott , and, of course, former President Trump, who has repeatedly hinted at a 2024 comeback bid.

The densely packed field of Floridians weighing campaigns for the White House raises the potential for a political free-for-all that could pit some of the states most prominent Republicans against one another. But it also underscores the extent to which the Sunshine State has become a hub for the conservative movement in recent years.

    Story continues below

Youre almost guaranteed that a Floridian is going to be the nominee in 2024, said Ford OConnell, a Florida-based Republican strategist and former congressional candidate.

Until Donald Trump became a Florida resident, Florida had never had a presidential nominee or VP nominee in the history of the state, he added. Its gone from being an important battleground to literally the center of the universe for the Republican Party.

Only 2 percent of respondents said that they would back Rubio, while Scotts name was not included in the survey.

    Sen Mitt Romney Of Utah

A Gallup poll last March found Romney, 74, has a higher approval rating among Democrats than Republicans, so you might figure he doesnt have a prayer in taking his partys nomination again. A February Morning Consult poll, though, had Romney polling ahead of Republicans like Pompeo, Cotton and Hawley. So, youre telling me theres a chance? Yes, a one-in-a-million chance.

The 2012 GOP presidential nominee and his wife, Ann, have five sons. He graduated from Brigham Young University and Harvard Law. Romney is a former Massachusetts governor, and the first person to be a governor and senator from two different states since Sam Houston, who was governor of Tennessee and a senator from Texas. Romney is this years JFK Profile in Courage Award recipient.

When only Republicans were asked, 82 percent of Republicans have a favorable view of Trump, and 52 percent of GOP voters said they had a very favorable view.

Trump has teased more than once that he could run for the White House again in 2024, but no formal decisions or announcements have been made about what the future might have in store for him.

In what may be troubling news for Democrats as we head into the 2022 midterm elections, the survey also found that, over half of Americans believe the national economy and the country generally is headed in the wrong direction. This is driven primarily by Republicans , but over half of independents agree as well.

City Beat Republican Primary Race In The 13th Congressional District: Plus Or Minus

Republican Debate Schedule (2016 Primary Debates ...

    Editor Paul Osborne

Due to redistricting Republican Congressman Rodney Davis home in Taylorville is now in the 15th Congressional District where he is running for re-election leaving his former 13th District wide open. Two Republican candidates with Decatur roots, Regan Deering and Jesse Reising, will be going head-to-head in the June 28th Primary Election to see which candidate moves on to the General Election to face the winner of the Democrat Primary race between David Palmer of Champaign and Nikki Budzinski of Springfield. although there is a lot of time between now and the June 28th Primary Election, Budzinski has more endorsements for her candidacy at this stage of the campaign than Ive seen in years maybe ever. Budzinski is ex-pected to be the Democrat moving on towards the General Election following the June 28th balloting.

The interesting question is about the Republicans having two candidates and if the two candidates spend a lot of money to eliminate each other, will the winner have enough to beat the Democrat in November? The lines of the 13th District were redrawn to get rid of Rodney Davis and favor a Democrat specifically Nikki Budzinski.

JESSE Reising announced his candidacy several days before Regan Deering made her announcement. Does it put the Republicans in a weaker position because of having two in the field, instead of one who could concentrate on winning the General Election? Not necessarily.

Results Of The 2020 Republican Party Presidential Primaries

    First place by first-instance vote

    Donald Trump

Below is a detailed tally of the results of the 2020 Republican Party presidential primary elections in the United States. In most U.S. states outside New Hampshire, votes for write-in candidates remain untallied.

Primary elections and caucuses can be binding or nonbinding in allocating delegates to the respective state delegations to the Republican National Convention. But the actual election of the delegates can be at a later date. Delegates are elected at conventions, from slates submitted by the candidates, selected by the party’s state chairman or at committee meetings or elected directly at the party’s caucuses and primaries. Until the delegates are apportioned, the delegate numbers are by nature projections, but it is only in the states with nonbinding caucuses where they are not allocated at the primary or caucus date.

    Statehood And Indian Removal

Defense of Florida’s northern border with the United States was minor during the second Spanish period. The region became a haven for escaped slaves and a base for Indian attacks against U.S. territories, and the U.S. pressed Spain for reform.

Americans of and began moving into northern Florida from the backwoods of and . Though technically not allowed by the Spanish authorities and the Floridan government, they were never able to effectively police the border region and the backwoods settlers from the United States would continue to immigrate into Florida unchecked. These migrants, mixing with the already present British settlers who had remained in Florida since the British period, would be the progenitors of the population known as .

These American settlers established a permanent foothold in the area and ignored Spanish authorities. The British settlers who had remained also resented Spanish rule, leading to a rebellion in 1810 and the establishment for ninety days of the so-called Free and Independent Republic of on September 23. After meetings beginning in June, rebels overcame the garrison at , and unfurled the flag of the new republic: a single white star on a blue field. This flag would later become known as the “”.
