Trevon Diggs’ Seventh Interception Gives Cowboys A 26
Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs intercepted Mac Jones at the Patriots’ 42-yard line and returned the pass for a touchdown to give the Cowboys a 26-21 lead with 2:27 remaining.
Diggs, who has seven interceptions, matched an NFL record by intercepting a pass in the first six games to start the season. Only Rod Woodson has had seven interceptions in the first six games of a season.
The Cowboys’ attempted two-point conversion, a catch by Tony Pollard, failed, leaving them only up by five.
Big Interception For Dugger : 17 Pm
HUGE stand there by the New England defense, as Kyle Dugger picked off a tipped ball in the Dallas end zone, giving the ball back to the Patriots after a nice return, New England will get the ball at its own 25-yard line with just under 13 minutes left in the first half. A bend-but-dont-break special there for New England.
Tipped in the end zone and PICKED. #ForeverNE
In other news, cornerback Jonathan Jones is questionable to return. Without Joejuan Williams and Shaun Wade in the lineup this afternoon, its a very dicey situation for the New England secondary, as special teamer Justin Bethel who tipped the ball that led to the Dugger pick is now the Patriots No. 3 corner.
Cowboys Vs Patriots Live Updates: Stats And Highlights As Dak Prescott Throws Overtime Td Pass In 35
A 35-yard touchdown pass from Dak Prescott to CeeDee Lamb in overtime capped the Dallas Cowboys’come-from-behind 35-29 win against the New England Patriots in what may have been the best game in this season.
The lead changed three times in the final 6:50 of the fourth quarter even though Dallas did not score a touchdown on offense. Prescott engineered a nine-play drive to set up Greg Zuerlein for a 49-yard field goal to tie the score late in the fourth, then found Lamb on the run on their first possession of OT. Dallas is now 5-1, while New England slides to 2-4.

Cowboys’ Randy Gregory Forcing O
The Patriots’ Justin Herron has replaced Isaiah Wynn at left tackle after Randy Gregory blew by Wynn for a sack on the last drive. There has been plenty of offensive line shuffling for the Patriots in this game. Yodny Cajuste started at right tackle but was replaced by Mike Onwenu after he allowed a sack. Onwenu is still in the game.

Cowboys At Patriots: Five Things To Watch
Here are five things you should be looking for as the Cowboys take on the Patriots Sunday afternoon.
The Dallas Cowboys are one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now as they have won four straight, and look to continue that winning streak versus a young New England Patriots team still looking to find its identity in the post Tom Brady era. This is a sneaky big game for both historic franchises, and for different reasons.
The Cowboys will enter into Gillette Stadium and try to beat a team they haven’t defeated since 1996, although this Patriots team looks very different than it has in the last 20 years. Dallas is looking to further cement the reputation they have built so far this season that they can take care of business versus teams they, at least on paper, are better than. The Patriots, on the other hand, trot out a young, unproven quarterback in Mac Jones who Bill Belichick and staff would love to see develop and grow by taking out a red-hot Cowboys team.
This game can be a slippery one for the Cowboys as we all know that a Patriots team with Belichick at the wheel is going to be well-coached and disciplined. The Cowboys will need to be smart and just play their style of football. No reason to go out there and try to do more than they have been over the last month, if they stay true to themselves, they can come out of New England with a win.
Here are five things to watch this week.
The Health Of The Patriots Offensive Line Is A Huge Key
The Cowboys will be paying attention to the faces and names the Patriots deploy on their offensive line on Sunday. The Patriots have dealt with a few injuries and COVID-related issues as of late. RT Trent Brown has been put on injured reserve and they were without their starting LT Isaiah Wynn and LG Mike Onwenu last week, and neither have been seen on the practice field as of Wednesday, in preparation for the Cowboys.
The Patriots only had one starting offensive linemen on the field last week and if that trend continues this week, the Cowboys will be salivating at the opportunity to get after Mac Jones. A bad offensive line can be a game-wrecker, so all eyes will be on the Patriots big fellas up front as the week goes on.
Patriots Stats And Trends
- New England has covered the spread on two occasions this season.
- The Patriots covered the spread in their only game when underdogs by 3.5 points or more.
- New England’s games this season have hit the over on one of five set point totals .
- This season the Patriots rack up 4.2 fewer points per game than the Cowboys allow .
- New England is 1-1 against the spread and 2-0 overall when the team puts up more than 23.4 points.
- The Patriots average 319.8 yards per game, 70.6 fewer yards than the 390.4 the Cowboys give up.
- The Patriots have turned the ball over nine times, three fewer times than the Cowboys have forced turnovers .

Cowboys Roster Moves And Elevations:
The Cowboys are signing rookie fullback Nick Ralston, along with tight end Jeremy Sprinkle, to their 53-man roster. Each had reached his quota of standard elevations to the game day roster. Therefore, Ralston and Sprinkle are added to Dallas offensive mix, providing additional help with both run and pass protection, while giving Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott more potential targets on offense.
Per multiple reports, cornerack Trevon Diggs and running back Ezekiel Elliott will both play on Sunday, against the Patriots. As such, the Cowboys will take the field with two of their most prolific players on either side of the ball.
Prediction Or It Turns Out That Ed Too Tall Jones Wasnt Too Tall At All
Based on the pure talent theyre putting on the field, the Cowboys should win this, and without a whole lot of suspense. Arguably, they are better than the Patriots at every single offensive and defensive position group. Their offense is balanced and unpredictable. Their defense is fast and aggressive. It could be a long day for the Patriots.
But it might not be. We thought the Bucs would wallop the Patriots. It came down to a last-minute missed field goal. We thought the Patriots would wallop the Texans, but they had to score the final 16 points to salvage the win. This season has not been predictable. And there are a couple of factors that point their way.
The first is that this game means more to the Patriots, who can get back to .500 with a win. That matters.
The second is that Belichick vs. McCarthy is a mismatch akin to 1987 Mike Tyson against this cinder-headed Logan Paul character. McCarthy won a Super Bowl with the Packers, but one should be the minimum with peak Aaron Rodgers at quarterback.
Its hard to imagine that anyone who watched this seasons Hard Knocks featuring the Cowboys came away impressed with McCarthy, who has all the mannerisms of Kevin James playing a football coach in a movie youd never want to see.
The Patriots need to stop fumbling. They need to stop making defensive mistakes that come from a lack of discipline. And everyone needs to do their best to play with the energy of Matt Judon.

Dallas Answers To Tie The Game : 48 Pm
Good example of the quick-strike abilities of the Dallas offense there. A super-aggressive series of plays from the Cowboys who got back-to-back first downs to get the series started took just seven plays and went 75 yards in 3:37 to tie the game at seven. Prescott went 6-for-6 on that drive, finding five different pass catchers along the way. Easy to see that the comfort level in this one for the Patriots defense is going to be pretty close to zero from start to finish.

The Patriots Might Have To Use The Tom Brady Model To Slow Down Dak Prescott While Mac Jones Has To Be Especially Careful Around One Of His Old Teammates
The last time the Patriots played the Dallas Cowboys , things were quite different in Foxborough.
Tom Brady and Stephon Gilmore were still here. The team was coming off its sixth Super Bowl win rather than a year in which they just missed the playoffs for the first time in more than a decade. They still had a top-10 scoring offense, and their defense was the best in the league. New England had actually won a few home games up to that point.
None of those things are true now. But the Patriots hope the end result from that season will be the same in 2021: a hard-fought win at home over a good football team.
A victory over the 4-1 Dallas Cowboys could do more than just bring New Englands record back up to .500. It could reassure the Patriots and their fans that this team might have some real playoff aspirations.
The Cowboys, after all, have some stellar talent on both sides of the ball, and proving they can keep those high-caliber players in check will show the Patriots can hang with anybody when theyre playing up to their potential.

Patriot Maven Game Prediction:
Essential on Offense:
In order for the Patriots to keep Dallas on its heels, they must test the versatility and productivity of their offensive skill position players. Both Nelson Agholor and Kendrick Bourne have demonstrated an ability to get open down the field. With the Cowboys defense surrendering an average of 311 yards per game through the air, Mac Jones might find some success testing the Dallas secondary by targeting Agholor, as well as Bourne when he aligns on the outside. New England might also be well-suited to utilize the skill set of tight end Jonnu Smith, both as a red zone target and as a carrier from the backfield. Smith has yet to emerge as the dual-threat, which Patriots fans expected when he was signed by the club in the offseason. However, Smith can be very effective in short yardage situations. With Dallas ability to get pressure on the passer, Jones will need to move the ball with the short passes he has used so effectively this season.
Essential on Defense:
While the Cowboys are prolific on both sides of the ball, the Patriots are eager to rid themselves of the lingering hollow feeling from their Week Five victory. The Pats played poorly in the first half against Houston and realized that they were fortunate to right the ship. New England will come out prepared in Week Six and will keep the game close. As a result, they do just enough to pull the upset over the Cowboys.
Final Score Prediction: Patriots 20, Cowboys 17

Fansided: Cowboys 24 Patriots 20
Tyrone Starr writes: “A road game against New England is EXACTLY the kind of game teams of Cowboys past would lose. Dallas has beaten the Patriots since 1996. Six straight losses, four of which have seen the Cowboys score less than ten points. That will not happen this time.”
Final Score: Patriots 23 Dallas 34
Ultimately I just dont see how the Patriots can slow down the Dallas offense, which has been humming the past few weeks and the Patriots sputtering offense most of the year save for a 16-point 4th quarter comeback against Houston in Week 5. The Cowboys match up well against the Patriots weaknesses on both sides of the ball. Patriots will have to hit Dallas hard early in the game or risk getting boatraced by halftime. Mac Jones will be in for a challenge trying to keep pace with the Dallas offense against a defense that seems to be improving each week. I think its a competitive game for 3 quarters with Dallas sealing the game early in the 4th quarter.

Pats Stop Dallas On Fourth Down : 34 Pm
Not a great start for J.C. Jackson, who yielded a pair of early completions, but that was mollified by a pair of impressive stops right after that. First, Matt Judon held up Zeke Elliott on third-and-short, and Donta Hightower stuffed Elliott on a fourth-and-short play. Good start for New England, which will now take over at the 34-yard line.
