5:04 p.m.: An injured player on the field as the game goes to a TV timeout.

4:58 p.m.: The Cowboys are looking at their second fourth-and-short of the day from their own territory. It’s at their 47 and this time its good as Ezekiel Elliott breaks off an outside run and picks up just enough. First-and-10 from right at midfield.

4:54 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN PATRIOTS. Mac Jones hits Hunter Henry to give the Patriots the lead again for the second time this quarter. New England 14, Dallas 7.

4:34 p.m.: The Cowboys lose their challenge. Ezekiel Elliott is ruled down by contact and it’s a turnover on downs for the Cowboys. New England takes over on the Dallas 34 and primed to score early.

4:28 p.m.: Dallas was staring at first-and-20 from its own 15 and they get it all the way down to fourth-and-1. The Cowboys go for it and don’t get it, but Dallas coach Mike McCarthy challenges.

4:26 p.m.: There’s a penalty on the opening kickoff and the Cowboys start at the 12 yard line.

Pats Take The Lead : 05 Pm

Down six midway through in the fourth quarter, that was a big-time drive there for the Patriots offense. Jakobi Meyers had a pair of 11-yard receptions to spark things at the start, and Damien Harris added a 22-yarder and a 6-yarder shortly after that to get into the Dallas red zone. Harris then picked up a key third-down, and Rhamondre Stevenson plunged in from the one for the first regular-season touchdown of his NFL career. The extra point was good, and its 21-20 New England with 6:23 to go in regulation.

Trevon Diggs’ Seventh Interception Gives Cowboys A 26

Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs intercepted Mac Jones at the Patriots’ 42-yard line and returned the pass for a touchdown to give the Cowboys a 26-21 lead with 2:27 remaining.

Diggs, who has seven interceptions, matched an NFL record by intercepting a pass in the first six games to start the season. Only Rod Woodson has had seven interceptions in the first six games of a season.

The Cowboys’ attempted two-point conversion, a catch by Tony Pollard, failed, leaving them only up by five.

The following players are out for todays game against the Cowboys:

Guard Shaq Mason was ruled out on Friday. Mason, who remains one of the most durable linemen in the league over the last few seasons, will miss his second consecutive game. Id expect the Patriots to lean on some combination of Ted Karras and James Ferentz at the guard spot, both of whom did well to stabilize an offensive line that was wracked by injury last week in Houston.

Cornerback Shaun Wade has had a lousy stretch of luck to open his New England career. Initially, he took multiple healthy scratches, but a head injury has left him sidelined this week. Jalen Mills, who has been slowed by a hamstring issue , should continue to get the bulk of the reps opposite J.C. Jackson, but Wades continued absence leaves them a little thin at corner.

Cornerback Joejuan Williams wasnt on the injury report all week, which means hes a healthy scratch. Not a great sign for Williams, especially when you consider just how thin the Patriots are at cornerback. As is the case with Wades absence, this likely means that Mills is feeling better than expected.

Running back J.J. Taylor has had his issues with ball security , which led to a healthy scratch. But he popped up on the injury report as a limited participant on Friday, and was listed as questionable. It likely means more Brandon Bolden in the running game than initially expected.

The Dallas Cowboys travel to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro to battle the New England Patriots in Week 6!

Dak Prescott and the Cowboys are red hot as they enter todays game against the Patriots. Mike McCarthys squad has won five straight, , Prescott is playing like an MVP, and Trevon Diggs leads the NFL in interceptions with I dont know like 15 picks? Okay, its six, but thats still an insane amount considering were only entering Week 6.

After a Week 5 victory over the Houston Texans, Bill Belichicks team enters todays game at 2-3, two games behind the surging Buffalo Bills in the AFC East. Does Mac Jones have what it takes to outmaneuver the impressive Dallas defense? Time will tell.

Heres how to watch the Week 6 matchup between the Cowboys and Patriots live online.

Halftime Analysis : 58 Pm

Two quarters are in the books in Foxborough, and the Patriots lead the Cowboys 14-10. Here are a few quick notes:

  • Mac Jones: 7-for-7, 100 yards, 1 passing TD
  • Damien Harris: 5 carries, 34 yards, 1 TD
  • Rhamondre Stevenson: 2 catches on 2 targets, 36 yards
  • Dak Prescott: 17-for-23, 192 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
  • Eziekel Elliott: 12 carries, 33 yards
  • Amari Cooper: 3 catches on 3 targets, 42 yards

A few observations:

The New England offense played extremely well for the first quarter-plus, as Jones and the Patriots took a 14-7 lead after just seven offensive plays. Harris started things with a four-yard run for a touchdown after a direct snap to the running back. New England followed that with a lightning-quick series that ended with a 20-yard scoring strike to Hunter Henry. A pair of red-zone touchdowns was a great way to start things for an offense that had struggled in that area to this point in the season.

As a group, the Patriots defense yielded plenty of yardage, but had a pair of great red-zone stops, which ended up holding the Dallas offense to just 10 points. First, there was a Kyle Dugger pick of Prescott, and then, New England stopped the Cowboys on a fourth-and-goal situation from inside the one. Both were great bend-but-dont break moments for the Patriots defense. The yardage totals from this one could be very ugly, but the scoreboard is sill in New Englands favor.

New England will get the ball to start the second half.

Pats Stop Dallas On Fourth Down : 34 Pm

Not a great start for J.C. Jackson, who yielded a pair of early completions, but that was mollified by a pair of impressive stops right after that. First, Matt Judon held up Zeke Elliott on third-and-short, and Donta Hightower stuffed Elliott on a fourth-and-short play. Good start for New England, which will now take over at the 34-yard line.

We have a quick turnaround on the schedule this week, buckling down for a Thursday night match up against the New England Patriots. With that the Falcons will need to turn the page on a Cowboys game that did not go as planned.

The Patriots come into Thursday’s game with the second longest win streak in the league, having won four straight, and five of their last six overall. Coming into this season it’s a safe bet that there weren’t many that would have picked Mac Jones as the best, or at least most successful, rookie quarterback in the league over top picks like Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson. Yet here we are. Jones has been balling out over his last five games, putting up an 8:2 touchdown-to-turnover ratio while averaging about 220 yards per contest.

On the Falcons side we all know how Sunday went against the Cowboys and there is no need to dwell on that. However, it is worth noting how this Falcons team has responded coming off each loss this season. Except for Week Two against the Buccaneers, the Falcons have been able to follow up every loss this season with a win. Even that Bucs game, though the final score didn’t reflect it, was a hard-fought ball game with the Falcons proving a real test to an early season Superbowl favorite. On the road, nonetheless.

With all that let’s take a look at how to take in Thursday night’s game against the Patriots.

Cowboys Get The Ball Back : 26 Pm

A pair of bad back-to-back plays for New England: First, a James Ferentz penalty nullified Jakobi Meyers first career touchdown reception. On the next play, the Dallas pass rush got to Mac Jones, knocking the ball out and forcing the turnover. A tough series of events for an offense that had been playing well to this point in the afternoon. Dallas gets the ball at its own 48 its 14-7 New England with 10:05 to go in the first half.

When: Sunday, October 17, 2021

Where: Gillette Stadium

The Houston Texans looked to be on the way to their first win since the opener after building a nice lead with a solid first half Sunday against the New England Patriots.

Instead, a second half filled with mistakes, penalties and a bizarre punt for no yards led to a fourth straight loss.

Rookie Mac Jones threw a touchdown pass to tie it before Nick Folks 21-yard field goal with 15 seconds left lifted the Patriots to the 25-22 win.

This loss comes after an embarrassing 40-0 rout at Buffalo that was the most lopsided defeat in franchise history. But this one feels even worse than that debacle because the Texans know this was a winnable game.
