The Bushnell Tour V5 Shift is what you would consider more of an average rangefinder from Bushnell. This does not have all the features and functionality of a Bushnell Pro XE, but it certainly has better technology than a cheaper off-brand rangefinder.
The Tour V5 Shift is for players that are looking for a good reading of slope compensation, the slope switch technology and top-notch slope algorithm will deliver. While its going to offer a different experience than something like the Phantom 2 golf GPS, its accurate readings, and quick information about the hole they are playing. This is a very straightforward model that you can learn to use in a matter of seconds.
One of our favorite features of the Tour V5 Shift is the fact that the unit is magnetic and will easily attach to your golf cart. The body is durable, and you can tell that this product was made with very close attention to detail. Lets dive into the specs.
Bushnell Tour V5 Shift Review
The Bushnell Golf laser rangefinder is known among most golfers as being the best on the market. Although there are some great options from Garmin and Nikon, its sort of an unwritten rule that Bushnell Golf is the best.
After trying the new Bushnell Pro XE, I thought it made sense to give the new Bushnell Tour V5 Shift a shot as well. This model is considerably less money and seems to have many of the same features. While its a little more than the Tour V4 was, as I expected, Bushnell did not disappoint.

Bushnell Tour V5 Shift Laser Rangefinder Review
In terms of technology, Bushnell’s latest rangefinder hasSlope-Switch Technology is easy to access via a button on the side and benefits from an improved slope algorithm for more accurate distances. A red ring now flashes as JOLT vibrates to give the golfer even greater feedback and confidence to know when they have locked onto the flag. The Bite magnetic mount allows the laser rangefinder to be secured to a golf buggy without the need for any aftermarket accessories.

The Bushnell Tour V5 Shift gave me no trouble when trying to narrow down my target. I always felt as though I could trust my yardages. How Does A Bushnell Rangefinder Work
The Pro XE, Tour V5, and Tour V5 Shift emit invisible, eye safe, infrared energy pulses. Bushnell Golf rangefinders’ Advanced Digital microprocessor and ASIC chip result in instantaneous and accurate readings every time. Sophisticated digital technology instantaneously calculates distances by measuring the time it takes for each pulse to travel from the rangefinder, to the target, and back.
BUSHNELL GOLF RANGEFINER BASIC OPERATION
- While looking through the Pro XE, depress the Power/Fire button once to activate the display. If the display icons and numbers are blurry, rotate the eyepiece in either direction until they are in focus.
- Place the aiming circle over a target at least 5 yards away, depress and hold the Power/Fire button down until the range reading is displayed near the bottom of the in-view display. Crosshairs surrounding the aiming circle indicate that the laser is being transmitted.
- Once a range has been acquired, you can release the Power/Fire button. The crosshairs surrounding the aiming circle will disappear once the Power/Fire button has been released .
Note: Once activated, the display will remain active and display the last distance measurement for 10 seconds. You can depress the Power/Fire button again at any time to distance to a new target. The maximum time the laser is transmitted is 5 seconds. To re-fire, press the button down again.
