Tennessee Is Still The No 1 Team In The Afc Do You Feel Like That’s An Accurate Ranking Is All The Scrutiny Overblown
Moraitis: Despite the two losses to terrible teams , the Titans have beaten several quality opponents this season, so I dont think their AFC-best record is a complete mirage. However, this team is very vulnerable thanks to its injuries, and especially because of the one to Henry. Tannehill must step up and play better if this team wants to continue to weather the storm. Theres only so much the defense can do.
Patriots Vs Giants: What Time Is Kickoff
- Date: Thursday, Oct. 10
- Start time: 8:20 p.m. ET
The 8:20 p.m. ET start time marks the Patriots’ second prime-time game of the season. New England will get a mini-bye after this game, as it’s scheduled to play the Jets on Monday night next week.
As for the Giants, this is their first of three prime-time games on the schedule. They also will play the Cowboys and Eagles on Monday nights in Weeks 9 and 14, respectively.
Patriots Defense Continues To Roll Tonight In Thursday Night Football
QB Matt Ryan and the Falcons offense have an arduous task at home tonight. Their Thursday Night Football matchup features a defense that has intercepted the second-most passes in the league and allowed an average of 12.5 points to opponents in the previous four games. Not great news for a team that mustered just 3 points against the Dallas Cowboys.
Last week, New England held Cleveland to 218 total yards of offense and sacked the QB 5 times. This coming just one week after the Browns offense exploded in Week 9 against the Bengals. While that was going on, the Patriots were busy shutting down the Panthers offense holding them to just 2 field goals. QB Sam Darnold was intercepted 3 times and RB Christian McCaffrey was held to 52 yards rushing.
The Patriots passing defense currently ranks in the top 10 of the league and their attack against the rush isnt far behind. Despite the rough start to the season, New England has only allowed 17.7 points per game this season. The Falcons have scored 25+ points in just four games this season, and that number should not change tonight after Thursday Night Football.

What Do You Think The Titans Will Do To Slow Down The Patriots’ Inconsistent Offense
Moraitis: The best asset the Titans have on defense is their pass-rush, which is led by Jeffery Simmons, Harold Landry and Denico Autry. When the defense is at its best, those three are getting pressure without the aid of blitzing, which allows defensive coordinator Shane Bowen to drop extra players back into coverage to help a suspect secondary. That approach wont change in Week 12, and if successful perhaps the Titans can get to Mac Jones and force him into some turnovers to change the course of the game.
Have The Pats Found Their Franchise Qb In Mac Jones Or Is The Jury Still Out
McKenna: Hes definitely going to be their QB for the next four or five years. Hes clearly on an upward trajectory and already working as a game manager who can be consistent enough to let the rest of the team win for him. So far, we havent seen him win any games the rest of the team is winning games for him. Thats fine under the current roster construction, with the team clearly set up to support him in the early years of his development. The question when its time for a contract extension will be whether Jones is among the leagues elite pocket passers, who can elevate those around him. Otherwise, it will be tricky to pay Jones big money and continue to find a strong supporting cast.

What Time Is The Nfl Game Tonight Tv Schedule Channel For Bills Vs Patriots In Week 13
At the beginning of the season, Bills vs. Patriots might not have sounded like an exciting matchup. The Bills were coming off a 13-3 season to handily win the AFC East, while the Patriots finished third at 7-9.
Even with the new quarterback in New England, expectations weren’t overly high for Bill Belichick’s squad.
Fast-forward to Week 13, and this might be one of the games of the season. The Patriots have surged to win six straight games, pushing their record to 8-4 to place them in sole possession of first in the AFC East. The Bills could change that with a win at home against their division rivals.
Even a look behind the numbers at the two teams shows a pair of squads very evenly matched. The Patriots have outscored their opponents 336-190 the Bills, 326-182. How about total yardage? Patriots 4,264-3,800, while the Bills are 4,282-3,027.
The play of the two quarterbacks has also been similar. Rookie Mac Jones has done well in his first season in New England, completing 70.3 percent of his passes with 2,850 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and eight interceptions, while Josh Allen has completed 66.8 percent of his passes for 3,071 yards, 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Allen has also rushed 69 times for 383 yards and three scores, while Jones has rushed 27 times for 71 yards.
Here’s all you need to know to watch the Bills take on the Patriots on “Monday Night Football” tonight.
Here Are Some News And Notes Surrounding The Patriots Heading Into Week 18
Well, we’ve reached the finish line of the 2021 regular season and, unlike the 2020 campaign, New England’s season will stretch beyond the final week of the year and into the postseason. While we know that the Patriots have playoff football ahead of them, that’s essentially all that is certain as they are set to square off against Miami in Week 18. The AFC East is still up for grabs for New England but, dreams of ascending to the No. 1 seed were dashed after Kansas City’s win over the Broncos on Saturday.
As it relates to the division, it’s pretty straightforward: The Patriots need to beat the Dolphins in Miami and the Buffalo Bills need to lose to the New York Jets at home. That would give New England the one-game advantage over Buffalo and possibly put them in position to ascend to the No. 2 seed in the AFC. With the Jets entering Week 18 with a 4-12 record, however, that may be easier said than done.
On top of those clinching scenarios, who the Patriots could possibly face in the opening round of the playoffs is another pressing question in New England. While there are still a number of circumstances that could unfold, the most likely opponents remain the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. As it relates to those more probable scenarios, here’s how New England’s playoff outlook has taken shape heading into Sunday’s matchup:
With a win vs. Dolphins
- TEN win + BUF win + IND win + CLE win = Patriots at Bengals
- TEN win + BUF win + IND win + CIN win = Patriots at Bills

Case Keenum and KhaDarel Hodge spend a lot of time practicing together and have developed chemistry.
They put it to use Sunday.
Keenum showed why Cleveland invested in him to back up Baker Mayfield, throwing a 7-yard touchdown pass to Hodge while leading the Browns to a 17-13 win over the New York Giants in an exhibition game.
Keenum connected with Hodge to end Clevelands opening possession. The veteran QB finished 9 of 12 for 74 yards with an interception while playing most of the first half.
Case makes things a lot easier, said Hodge, a special teams standout who is trying to earn a roster spot among Clevelands talented receivers. He can talk about coverages. He can talk about how to set up a route or what you do in certain coverage or how to run a certain route in certain coverages and hes a great guy.
He just brings a lot to the game.
The Browns rested Mayfield, running back Nick Chubb, All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett and most of their starters for the second straight week.
Patriots Game Sunday: Patriots Vs Giants Odds Injury Report Prediction Schedule Live Stream And Tv Channel For Week 3 Nfl Preseason Game
The New England Patriots will look to keep their undefeated preseason campaign alive when they face the New York Giants on Sunday.
It remains to be see how long Bill Belichick will play his starters, but you have to think both Cam Newton and Mac Jones will get a lot of reps if Newton ends up cleared for takeoff.
After all, the two quarterbacks might be on level ground in their competition in light of the report that claims the Patriots are frustrated with Newton for being forced to miss three days of practice due to a misunderstanding of COVID-19 tests that he underwent away from the team facility.
The final preseason game isnt always considered a must-watch by fans, but this development could change that for Sundays showdown.

What Channel Is Patriots Vs Jaguars On Today Time Tv Schedule For Nfl Week 17 Game
After a scorching hot stretch, the Patriots have finally cooled off the past two weeks. Back to back losses to in-conference rivals the Colts and Bills has them in a much more precarious position in the AFC than they were in just two weeks ago, and although they still hold the 6th seed in the conference with a 9-6 record, several teams at 8-7 are clamoring for their spot in the last two weeks this season.
Lucky for them, the Patriots are playing a team that is just trying to hit a big red reset button on this season. A win would all but guarantee the Patriots a playoff spot, and theyre going up against a team playing games in their best interest to lose. The Jaguars are 2-13 on the season, and if it ended today they would have the No. 1 overall pick. That could be very important for Jacksonville, who will be looking for a new coach this offseason after getting just over half a season from Urban Meyer.
James Robinson tore his Achilles for the Jaguars in last weeks loss to the Jets, sidelining one of the few offensive weapons Jacksonville was fielding. Trevor Lawrence has had all of the ups and downs youd expect of a rookie quarterback, and with Bill Belichick looming, this week could be a big down. Belichick is 23-6 against rookie quarterbacks, and while the Patriots are also fielding a rookie QB in Mac Jones, Jones is asked to do far less with far more than Lawrence has been.
Three Things To Watch
1. Can Miami’s defense rebound against an explosive New England offense?Heading into the Week 14 bye, New England had won seven in a row and had scored at least 24 points in all but two games since the start of October with one of the two exceptions a 14-10 Week 13 win on a Monday night in windy, snowy conditions. In other words, the Patriots’ offense had been clicking on all cylinders before the bye but followed the break with just 38 total points across losses to Indianapolis and Buffalo.
Last week, though, the Patriots welcomed in the new year with their second 50-point output of the season in the romp over the Jaguars. Four first-half touchdowns including two rushing scores by Damien Harris paved the way for a 28-3 lead before Rhamondre Stevenson notched two of his own and Kristian Wilkerson brought in his second touchdown pass of the game from Mac Jones.
The Dolphins, meanwhile, allowed 24 points just once during their seven-game winning streak after six of their seven previous losses came to teams eclipsing that mark. But their 34-3 loss at Tennessee last week brought many of the defense’s struggles to light once again, as quarterback Ryan Tannehill in his first game against his former team threw for two touchdowns while D’Onta Foreman and Dontrell Hilliard each found the end zone on the ground. If Miami is unable to bounce back from its struggles in Nashville, look for New England to have its way offensively on Sunday.
