The Patriot Buick GMC of Williamsburg will close on Friday, according to a by the dealership.
It is with deepest regret to inform our friends & customers that Patriot Buick GMC will close its doors for good on June 28, 2019. The Hines Family and their employees would like to thank you for your business and support for the past 45 years, wrote Rick, David and Mike.
In another Facebook post, the dealership noted it was a hard decision and thanked family and their employees.
Today we made the decision to close. It was hard since so many things are out of our control. You give it to God and let him lead the way. I want to thank our friends for the messages, emails and phone calls. It has been most appreciated. But the people that I want to especially thank are our dedicated employees. Without them, we wouldnt have made it 45 years.
It remains unclear why the dealership located on 217 2nd Street is closing.
David Hines, the owner, could not immediately be reached for comment.

Second Street Auto Dealership Patriot Buick Gmc To Close
Local auto dealership Patriot Buick GMC is preparing to shutter after 45 years serving local car buyers and owners.
In a photo posted to its page last week, the dealership announced it would close June 28. In a phone interview Monday, Patriot Buick GMC President David Hines confirmed that the dealership would close, but said he worked with General Motors to push the final day back to July 15 to facilitate the wind-down process.
Although theyll stop servicing cars June 28, Hines said a reduced number of employees will continue to operate the dealership until July 15 to handle emergency situations along with any final car sales. The reduced staffing should not affect the dealerships regular operating hours, Hines said.
Essentially, what weve done is try to slow down our process in the service department and making the 28th basically the last service day for our customers, Hines said. We will be here through the wind-down procedure, but we will not be up and operational, only in an emergency-type basis through the 15th. Essentially, the 28th will be our last day, but we will have a couple of people on hand to take care of an emergency if need be.
Hines declined to offer a reason for the decision to close the dealership.
I would prefer not to right now, he said. Its extenuating circumstances, and its just not a good time to give a statement as to why.
