Is Bill Conway A Republican

Don't Miss

Kellyanne Conway Didn’t Always Support Trump

Kellyanne Conway on the GOP health care bill

When President Donald Trump originally approached Kellyanne Conway about a position in his campaign in March 2015, she reportedly turned him down and opted to work for a super-PAC on behalf of then-Republican presidential candidate and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. During her time there, the PAC launched attack ads against Trump, including one that supposedly claimed Donald Trump supported universal health care, as Politifact noted. Moreover, Conway bashed Trump directly, arguing to CNN‘s Carol Costello in February 2016 , “He says he’s for the little guy, but he’s actually built a lot of his businesses on the backs of the little guy.” And in another interview, she wished for Trump to be more “transparent” with his elusive tax returns.

After Cruz’s Republican primary bid fell apart, Conway came aboard as an adviser for Trump in July 2016, eventually replacing Paul Manafort as Trump’s campaign manager. That was because Manafort was sidelined over allegations of secret payments from pro-Russian groups in the Ukraine.

Kellyanne Conway Uses Child Psychology Tricks On Trump

Some people reportedly call Kellyanne Conway the “Trump whisperer,” which is interesting considering she hasn’t completely succeeded in getting the president to completely back down from his controversial statements and . But it’s possible she was successful in softening his image with women in the weeks leading up to the election, as evidenced by exit polls, which show 61 percent of white women with no college degree voted for the real-estate magnate over Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.

So how does she manage to control Trump? Child psychology, of course. As parents of young children know, it’s usually more effective to offer kids choices than to try to tell them what to do. Kellyanne Conway illustrated that point to The Washington Post with an anecdote about her daughter wanting to wear turquoise instead of blue on Memorial Day, and the publication said she uses the same methods to communicate with Trump: “Never command. That could insult him. Always make suggestions, backed with information in 10-second soundbites.”

Although Conway might be patting herself on the back for cracking Trump’s code, we’re not necessarily comforted to know the commander-in-chief needs the toddler treatment.

Who Is Kellyanne Conway

Kellyanne Conway worked as a professional pollster, running her own company and working with prominent Republican political figures to aid their efforts to connect with female voters. After running a super PAC organization for Senator Ted Cruz, Conway was hired by Donald Trump to work as a campaign manager for his 2016 presidential campaign. With Trump’s election as the 45th U.S. president, Conway became the first woman to run a successful presidential campaign and was hired as a top White House counselor.

George Conway Helped Sow Chaos For Bill Clinton Now He Could Be Picked To Keep Order In Washington

Kellyanne Conways husband was a shadow player in the Lewinsky scandal. He seems to be on track to lead the Justice Departments civil division, tasked with guarding President Trump and his polices from legal challenges.

If it weren’t for George Conway, the nation might never have met Monica Lewinsky, and Donald Trump might never have met Kellyanne.

In the 1990s, George was a quiet but critical presence in what Hillary Clinton would dub the vast right-wing conspiracy – a hotshot young attorney working to undermine President Bill Clinton by offering secret legal aid to his accusers and reportedly funnelling salacious details to the Drudge Report. “This one disgruntled New York lawyer almost single-handedly brought down the president,” David Brock, the conservative provocateur-turned-Clinton-acolyte, later wrote.

Years later, George would marry Kellyanne Fitzpatrick, a publicity-prone Beltway pollster and move with her to an apartment in Manhattan’s Trump World Tower. There, he caught the future president’s attention by arguing to the condo board against stripping Trump’s name from the exterior. The speech earned him an appreciative call from the mogul and an offer to join the board. He declined, but Kellyanne said she’d do it.

“My laziness led to her to meet Donald Trump,” he said in a recent interview.

Back then, George helped sow the chaos.

Now, he’s coming to Washington to try to put things back together.

Is Kellyanne Conway Fixated On The Clintons

Bill Conways billionaire father is bankrolling his states attorney ...

Kellyanne Conway and her husband, George Conway, have reportedly been involved in lawsuits and other attacks directed at Bill and Hillary Clinton for decades. Kellyanne , for instance, has on TV shows for years. As for George, according to The New York Times, he unofficially worked on Paula Jones’ sexual misconduct case against President Clinton and even participated in “a practice argument” with Jones’ legal team, which argued before the Supreme Court that a sitting president could still face a civil lawsuit while in office. The court agreed, paving the way for the infamous Jones trial to go forward. That trial subsequently gave us the Monica Lewinsky scandal and the eventual impeachment proceeding. Ironically, the precedent set by that legal decision means that Trump can now be taken to court for any of the dozens of pending lawsuits he’s faced since taking office.

Kellyanne denies any further obsession with Hillary, however, tellingCNN’s Chris Cuomo in January 2018: “We don’t care about her. Nobody here talks about her. … Nobody here talks about Hillary Clinton, I promise you.” Hmm. We wonder if this is the White House counselor’s version of alternative facts or if she’s really telling the truth here.

Rise To The Executive Mansion

In the 2006 elections, Conway was elected New York State Comptroller and re-elected in the 2010 elections. He later won the 2012 election for Governor of New York, replacing Governor DeLuca.

Soon after the Conways moved into the Executive Mansion in Albany on January 1, 2015, the national Republicans quickly saw him as a future President and was later named the Republican nominee for the 2016 presidential elections after the disgraceful exit of Mendoza. Polls currently show him leading by double digits against President Underwood.

Former Trump Advisor Kellyanne Conway Headlines Reception For Bennet Challenger Gino Campana

In this file photo, then-Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway speaks with reporters at the White House on Jan. 24, 2020, in Washington.

Kellyanne Conway, the first woman to run a winning presidential campaign, is slated to appear at a reception for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Gino Campana Friday night in Colorado Springs ahead of the Colorado GOP’s state assembly.

Conway, a veteran pollster and longtime advisor to former President Donald Trump, managed Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and worked at the White House from 2017 to 2020 as senior counselor to the president. She signed on in February as a senior advisor to Campana, one of seven Republicans hoping to deny Democratic U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet a third term.

A Campana campaign spokesman said Conway pitched the real estate developer and former Fort Collins councilman to 125 assembly delegates who participated in an online meeting on Wednesday.

“People want a fighter,” Conway told hundreds of potential delegates earlier this year in a telephone town hall organized by the Campana campaign.

Six Republicans are competing for delegate votes at the party’s state assembly on Saturday at Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs. The candidates who receive support from at least 30% of delegates win spots on Colorado’s June primary ballot, with the top vote-getter winning top-line designation.

Kellyanne Conway’s Relationship With Bill Maher Is Testy To Say The Least

George Conway: Republicans have gone from ‘cowardice to depravity’

It might surprise you to learn that in the ’90s, Kellyanne Conway frequently appeared on Politically Incorrect, the panel show hosted by comedian and staunch Democrat Bill Maher. While the two still appear to be friendly on the surface, the truth is a bit more complicated. Conway reportedly left Politically Incorrect after she supposedly grew tired of Maher’s critical comments about Catholicism. When The New Yorker asked Maher about it, he couldn’t recall the disagreement, but he added the jab that Conway and the rest of Trump’s team deserve “a Nobel Prize in hypocrisy.”

After her hiatus from Politically Incorrect, Conway started showing up on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, even after she started working for then candidate Donald Trump’s campaign. This was surprising because Trump himself has never been on good terms with Maher he even sued the comic for $5 million over a joke. Regardless, during a September 2016 appearance, Maher introduced Conway as his longtime “friend.” The ensuing exchange was overwhelmingly cordial, but the pair definitely traded some barbs. Maher told Conway that she was “enabling pure evil” by serving as Trump’s campaign manager, while Conway shot back that the Democrats were “stuck with a lemon.”

It’s quite clear, however, that Maher does appreciate Conway’s husband. “Love this George Conway, the way he never misses a chance to call out Trump/Republican bulls**t, even while married to Kellyanne!” he tweeted in November 2019. Awkward.

What’s Up With Kellyanne Conway’s Allegedly Partisan Polling Tactics

Since receiving her law degree in 1992, Kellyanne Conway has worked as a professional pollster and political adviser. She launched her career with the GOP polling firm Wirthlin Group and founded her own business, The Polling Company, in 1995. Through her company, Conway was reportedly involved with some controversial groups throughout the years.

In 2015, her company conducted a poll on behalf of the Center for Security Policy, an anti-Muslim think tank run by conservative conspiracy theorist Frank Gaffney. Trump cited that poll to support his proposal to ban Muslims from entering the United States.

In addition, Conway and her company have ties to the Federation for American Immigration Reform an organization labeled as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center since 2008. Either way, FAIR President Dan Stein praised the ex-pollster, stating via , “FAIR began working with Kellyanne Conway as far back as 1996, and we have used her for polling virtually every year since then.”

It might come as no surprise that FAIR’s leadership seems quite pleased that Conway is involved in the Trump administration. ” was possessed of intimate professional knowledge of the immigration issue as it related to the voter concerns,” Stein told Mother Jones, adding, “And we saw that influence helping to shape Donald Trump’s positions and statements once she came on board.”

Deep Roots In Local Government

When I became leader in Sacramento, Id preach to the caucus: Hey, if you love your bill, and its a good idea, give it away. Because you are a minority player here, and its not happening, she said. We want good legislation, but find another teammate to joint-author with you, someone across the aisle, because otherwise its probably not going to happen.

She has known Nunes since he was a child through family connections, she said, watching him go from precocious 4-year-old to the U.S. Capitol. It proved to be a useful connection, leading to her 2019 appointment as the California executive director of the U.S. Department of Agricultures Farm Service Agency. She helped distribute funding to farmers through mechanisms like disaster relief and conservation programs, but her tenure there was brief, as she was replaced after Biden took office.

Conway is a product of Californias Central Valley. Born in Bakersfield, she moved to Fresno and graduated from San Joaquin Memorial High School, a private Catholic school located in the city, and went on to study at California State University at Fresno. Although she attended for four years, she did not earn enough credits in one area of study to obtain a degree.

She now calls Tulare home and lives there with her husband, Craig Vejvoda, and their dog, Jake. She previously represented her area as a county supervisor, from 2000 to 2008.

Don’t Miss: How Many Democrats And Republicans Are In The House

What Are The Chances It Passes

And early indication is that the Democratic governor isnt a fan. After the bill was unveiled, Gov. Roy Cooper released the following statement:

“Schools are grateful for involved parents and we need even more of them working together with teachers to educate our children. However, the last thing our state needs is another Republican political ploy like the bathroom bill which hurt our people and cost us jobs, so let’s keep the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ culture wars out of North Carolina classrooms.

N.C. Republicans dont possess the supermajority needed in the General Assembly to override a Cooper veto. To get the Parents Bill of Rights passed over Coopers objection, a handful of Democratic House and Senate members would need to cross party lines to support it.

Winning over Democrats is possible, especially if the bill is modified, said Stoops, adding, “I think this is an opportunity for Cooper to establish common ground with Republicans.”

Yet whether the bill becomes law, opponents say its already brought irrevocable damage to the classroom.

My colleagues and I talk about legislation like this as harassment legislation, White said. It helps create a hostile educational environment for students in K-12 schools.

Who Is Bill Conway Candidate For Cook County States Attorney

Bill Conway: Candidate profile

Chicago, IL – William Elias Conway, III is running against Cook County States Attorney Kim Foxx in the March 17 Democratic Party primary election. He has flooded TV airways and cable channels with commercials promoting his progressive agenda, pledging to defend Chicagos marginal communities from attacks from Donald Trump.

But Bill Conway is the son of William Elias Conway, Jr., the founder of the Carlyle Group. His father is a multi-billionaire who has donated over $4 million to his sons campaign against incumbent Cook County States Attorney Kim Foxx. Conway, Jr. has also strong-armed many East Coast corporations to join him in funding his sons campaign.

Foxx has a reputation for fairness and has demonstrated a willingness to question arrests made by police officers, especially those of proven torturers and frame-up artists. This has earned her the hatred of the Fraternal Order of Police, which organized a white supremist demonstration against her outside her office last year.

What is the Carlyle Group, founded by Conways father? Among those whove been on its payroll are former President and CIA Director George H. W. Bush and Frank Carlucci . Carlucci is a former U. S. Defense Secretary and CIA operative who is credited with masterminding the 1973 overthrow and assassination of Chilean President Salvador Allende.

Nc Republicans Propose ‘parents’ Bill Of Rights’ With Limits On Lgbtq Curriculum And More

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Supporters say its a win for parents. Opponents say it stigmatizes LGBTQ students, teachers, and the broader community.

Last week, North Carolina Senate Republicans revealed the Parents Bill of Rights, which has brought a new level of attention to how K-12 public schools approach instruction and identity. The legislation has cleared a pair of Senate committees as it moves toward a chamber vote.

So, whats in the bill? Might it pass? And why is it being proposed now? Here are five things to know about the controversial Parents Bill of Rights:

Is It A ‘don’t Say Gay’ Bill

Perhaps the bills most contentious paragraph addresses how sexual orientation and gender identity are taught in early grades. The latest edition of the bill states:

“Instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity shall not be included in the curriculum provided in grades kindergarten through third grade, regardless of whether the information is provided by school personnel or third parties.

This language is similar to what Florida included in its Parental Rights in Education bill, which opponents labeled the Dont Say Gay law.

We really see as another Dont Say Gay bill, said Craig White, who works as the supportive schools coordinator at the Asheville-based Campaign for Southern Equality. Theres some parents rights at the front to mask it, but if you look at what those rights are, its things like the right to receive a report card or the right to join a parent-teacher organization which are well-established common practices.

White said he believes the bills vague language will create a chilling effect on teachers and students, thereby depriving young students of an accurate and healthy representation of the real world.

Senate Republicans disagreed, arguing the ban on sexual orientation and gender identity instruction would still permit references to LGBTQ people and relationships.

The Cook County States Attorney Candidate Used A Clip From A Recent Wgn

Ashlee Rezin / Sun-Times file photo

In a new digital ad, Bill Conway, a candidate for Cook County states attorney, criticizes Kim Foxx on her handling of unlawful use of a weapon offenses, asking how the top prosecutor can solve a problem that she cant admit is present.

The ad attacks Foxx by using recent footage of a WGN-TV interview where Foxx is asked if she shares Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnsons frustration about gun offenders getting out the very next day.

Foxx is shown asking if can go back to and then trails off, pausing for several seconds. At that point, the ad cuts to a screen that reads, If Kim Foxx doesnt think releasing gun criminals is a problem, how can she solve it?

The ad, which will appear on social media, then ends. The rest of Foxxs comments in the interview are not shown.

Its really this simple: If you commit a crime with a gun, you need to go to jail, a spokeswoman for Conways campaign said in a statement. But if Kim Foxx cant even admit that releasing gun offenders is a problem, how can Chicagoans expect her to fix it?

For Foxx, the issue requires a more nuanced approach.

Foxx had taken a pause in the news report because she doesnt want to speak in sound bites.

A spokesman for Foxxs campaign said Conway should do his homework.
