Review Of The Mtm Special Ops Watch
The MTM Special Ops watch is a nice-looking, rugged, functional timepiece. Apparently having previously only been available to the military and to law enforcement agencies , Multi Time Machine, Inc. is now making the Special Ops watch available to the general public.
The fist thing you will notice about the MTM Special Ops watch is its weight. If you prefer light-weight, inconspicuous timepieces, the Special Ops is not for you. If you like your watches substantial and solid, keep reading. The watch isnt so heavy that you will eventually lose the use of your left arm, but the Special Ops is a dense and solid piece of stainless steel.
The next thing you will notice, after removing the watch from its packaging, is that the MTM Special Ops is a pretty nice-looking watch. Its not Rolex or Breitling good-looking, but its unique and handsome. All three hands are easy to see against the black dial, and the Arabic numeral hour markers are large and clear. The 12, 4, and 8 are interrupted by the watchs lighting system , but if you dont know where the 12, 4, and 8 are on your watch, you should probably just be wearing a digital, anyway.

About the MTM Black Patriot Special Forces watchThe Black Patriot, a recent addition to the Pro Ops line of military watches, was designed with the battlefield needs of special forces in mind. It combines the rugged durability and functionality of all the military watches in the Pro Ops series with a chronograph function which can be of use to pilots and other special ops military personnel as well. This is no ordinary chronograph, with its NASA type carbon fiber dial, 200 meter water resistance, and 316L solid surgical stainless steel case and luminous numbers.

Nasa Type Carbon Fiber
The carbon fiber dial on the Falcon is striking. MTM refers to it as NASA Type Carbon Fiber, and were not sure what that means, but you can see the crisp strands very clearly, unlike some other timepieces that have CF dials.
Of course it wouldnt be a real tool watch without a sapphire crystal to protect the face from scratches, and MTM also made sure to apply some anti-reflective coating for extra clarity when using the flashlights.
When Is The Battery Down
So, if nothing blinks and moves, battery may be down. Sure.
But also, I found that if the watch hands still move but the digital part of the watch is down, best to swap battery to bring things back to life. So as it appears, the battery drainage does not appear to affect all watch parts equally, or, simultaneously.

Editors Review: Mtm Special Ops Patriot Watch
A few weeks ago I published a review of the MTM Special Ops Predator II watch. Within a few days I received an email asking me if I actually had and wore the watch or if Id just written it up because I could and it filled space. Interesting question in that Im surprised anyone would think Id write a review on a product I havent actually had in hand, tested, worn, tried to break, etc. Sixteen years ago I broke into the industry by doing test and evaluation reports for the Blackwater Tactical Weekly. I refused to write anything I couldnt get in hand to test and warned all vendors that I WAS going to test it two ways: 1) as it was designed to be used , and 2) like every cop and soldier was going to use it anyway as a hammer, pry bar, etc. I gave fair warning: if I broke it, Id send back pieces with a specific report on how I broke it so they could use the information to improve their product. If it held up to everything I threw at it, Id publish the review/report. Theres a reason why Ive only ever received two laptop computers for review. The MTM Special Ops watches I can happily report on as having put up with everything I did to them or did wearing them.
