Trump Organization: Ny Da Criminal Investigation

Donald Trump is ‘probably going to run’ for president again

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg inherited that offices probe into Trumps businesses, but it has slowed significantly.

Prosecutors were focusing on the accuracy of the Trump Organizations financial statements when seeking financing, people familiar with the matter have told CNN.

Earlier this year, Carey Dunne and Mark Pomerantz, two senior prosecutors on the team, resigned after Bragg informed them that he wasnt prepared to move forward with criminal charges, CNNs Kara Scannell reported.

A special grand jury hearing evidence in the case expired in April, but a new one could be seated in the future.

Bragg has maintained the investigation is ongoing and prosecutors are reviewing new evidence. He said he will issue a public statement or an indictment when its completed.

Moss shared how others showed up at her grandmothers house and forced their way in to search for her and Freeman in an effort to make a citizens arrest. The term has a long history of association with vigilante violence used against African Americans engaged in whatever infractions whites deemed offensive to assert moral authority over their lives. The threats were so severe that the FBI warned Freeman it was unsafe to stay in her home in the days leading up to Jan. 6.

Hearing these Black women publicly tell the nation how they became convenient scapegoats figures whose names were repeatedly linked to broad baseless allegations of voter fraud served as a sad reminder of this countrys history.

But there was another significant takeaway of this hearing. It came when Moss explained her motivations behind her commitment to being an election worker. Ive always been told by my grandmother how important it is to vote and how people before me, a lot of people, older people in my family, did not have that right, she said. She shared that she enjoyed her civic duty, especially helping elderly and disabled voters who could not access or navigate the electronic system or had questions they needed answered by a real person. She relished going the extra mile beyond her official duties. I even remember driving to a hospital to give someone her absentee application. Thats what I loved the most, Moss recalled.

Nikki Haley: Running For Us President Against Trump In 2024

Nikki Haley: Would She Run for President 2024? Long rumored to be considering a 2024 run, former United States Ambassador Nikki Haley this week distanced herself from former President Donald Trump and firmly sided with former Vice President Mike Pence on the matter of election fraud.

Mike Pence is a good man. Hes an honest man, I think he did what he thought was right on that day, Haley told Fox Newss Bret Baier on Monday.

Her comments came after the former vice president, who is also rumored to be considering a 2024 run, said that the former president was wrong about his role in the certification of presidential electors.

President Trump is wrong. I had no right to overturn the election, Pence told the audience at a Federalist Society event hosted in Florida.

Nikki Haley Changes Her Tune, Considers Run Against Trump in 2024

In April 2021, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley indicated that she would not launch a bid for the GOP presidential nomination if former President Donald Trump announced a third run.I would not run if President Trump ran, and I would talk to him about it, Haley told The Associated Press. Thats something that well have a conversation about at some point if that decision is something that has to be made.

In October, however, Haley reversed course and said that she will decide whether or not to run independently of whether the former president announces another bid for the presidency.

Nikki Haley: Can She Win?

Right now, no.

“I don’t think there’s been any effort” by the RNC to remain neutral, longtime Republican donor and Canary LLC CEO Dan Eberhart told ABC News. “This is a symbiotic relationship.”

“The RNC needs Trump or Trump surrogates or Trump’s likeness to raise money, and Trump wants them to continue paying his bills and be as pro-Trump as possible,” Eberhart said. “So neither is in a hurry to cut the umbilical cord.”

The RNC has continued to fundraise off of Trump’s name in its emails to supporters, touting a so-called “Trump Life Membership,” boosting his social media platform, and, most recently, promoting Trump’s first visit to Washington, D.C., since January of last year. Other potential 2024 presidential candidates and key party figures like former Vice President Mike Pence and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis have not received the same spotlight as Trump, experts say.

Eberhart said the current relationship between Trump and the RNC is putting other potential 2024 presidential candidates at an “absolute disadvantage.”

“Other Republican candidates seeking the Republican nomination for president have good reason to worry that the party apparatus is rigged against them in its unwavering support for Trump,” echoed Craig Holman, government affairs lobbyist at the progressive government-watchdog group Public Citizen.

Eberhart said “it’s an open secret” within the Republican Party that “nobody wants Trump to announce his candidacy until after the midterms.”

How Did 2016 Voters And Nonvoters Compare

FACT CHECK: All Living Ex

The data also provide a profile of voting-eligible nonvoters. Four-in-ten Americans who were eligible to vote did not do so in 2016. There are striking demographic differences between voters and nonvoters, and significant political differences as well. Compared with validated voters, nonvoters were more likely to be younger, less educated, less affluent and nonwhite. And nonvoters were much more Democratic.

Among members of the panel who were categorized as nonvoters, 37% expressed a preference for Hillary Clinton, 30% for Donald Trump and 9% for Gary Johnson or Jill Stein 14% preferred another candidate or declined to express a preference. Party affiliation among nonvoters skewed even more Democratic than did candidate preferences. Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents made up a 55% majority of nonvoters about four-in-ten nonvoters were Republicans and Republican leaners. Voters were split almost evenly between Democrats and Democratic leaners and Republicans and Republican leaners .

Voters were much more highly educated than nonvoters. Just 16% of nonvoters were college graduates, compared with 37% of voters. Adults with only a high school education constituted half of nonvoters, compared with 30% among voters. Whites without a college degree made up 43% of nonvoters, about the same as among voters . But nonwhites without a college degree were far more numerous among nonvoters than they were among voters .

Gop Races Dominated By Maga Candidateswhether Trump Has Backed Them Or Not

At a recent focus group of Republican voters from swing states, the only surprise came about 80 minutes into the two-hour Zoom session, when participants were questioned about the power of Donald J. Trumps primary endorsements. Until then, the group had shown nothing but enduring loyalty and admiration for the former president. They echoed his views on immigration and critical race theory, questioned the integrity of the 2020 election and wished he were still president. Yet when asked how much Trumps much-heralded and intensely coveted endorsements would influence their vote in upcoming GOP primaries, they all hedged.

If I was on the fence, that might be the final factor, a woman from North Carolina said. But if I truly believed in the opposing candidate, its not going to make me vote any differently. As long as the person she favors advocates strong America First and Make America Great Again policies, the voter said, she doesnt need to follow Trumps lead to feel she is supporting his creed.

In contest after contest, state after stateincluding upcoming May primaries in Ohio, West Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Georgiathe fields in key races are crowded with not just one or two but several MAGA options. And the lone non-MAGA candidate, if there is one, is typically trailing substantially in the polls. That virtually guarantees a majority of Trumpists on the Republican ballot in November.

Donald Trumps 2016 Presidential Campaign

Trump said that her role in her fathers 2016 presidential campaign was limited. She said, My role is daughter. Im his daughterMy siblings and I volunteer our opinions, solicited or not. And I think most children do that with their parents. I think theres something unique in that were colleagues.

Trump introduced her father at the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio. She also penned an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal in September 2016 about Donald Trumps proposed policies on maternity leave and childcare costs.

Presidential Campaign And 2011 Hints At Presidential Run

In 2000, Trump ran in the California and Michigan primaries for nomination as the Reform Party candidate for the 2000 United States presidential election but withdrew from the race in February 2000. A July 1999 poll matching him against likely Republican nominee George W. Bush and likely Democratic nominee Al Gore showed Trump with seven percent support.

In 2011, Trump speculated about running against President Barack Obama in the 2012 election, making his first speaking appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February 2011 and giving speeches in early primary states. In May 2011, he announced he would not run, and he endorsed Mitt Romney in February 2012. Trump’s presidential ambitions were generally not taken seriously at the time.

Misogyny And Allegations Of Sexual Misconduct

Will we see a Biden vs. Trump presidential rematch in 2024?

Trump has a history of insulting and belittling women when speaking to media and on social media. He made lewd comments, demeaned women’s looks, and called them names, such as ‘dog’, ‘crazed, ‘crying lowlife’, ‘face of a pig’, or ‘horseface’.

In October 2016, two days before the second presidential debate, a 2005 “hot mic” recording surfaced in which Trump is heard bragging about kissing and groping women without their consent, saying “when you’re a star, they let you do it, you can do anything… grab ’em by the .” The incident’s widespread media exposure led to Trump’s first public apology during the campaign and caused outrage across the political spectrum.

At least 26 women, including his first wife, have publicly accused Trump of rape, kissing and groping without consent, looking under women’s skirts, or walking in on naked teenage pageant contestants. In 2016, he denied all accusations, calling them “false smears” and alleging a conspiracy against him and the American people.

Pas White Working Class Voters

In southwestern Pennsylvania, Trump signs still fly, along with Lets go Brandon and derogatory messages about President Joe Biden. At a motorcycle dealership north of Pittsburgh, the Wi-Fi signal is called: Trump is still our president. Democrats once had a stronghold in this part of the state, but the collar counties around Pittsburgh voted for Trump.

Trumps base comes from the white, working class voters in our state and in many other places, said Terry Madonna, senior fellow for political affairs at Millersville University.

They come from working-class areas such as the southwestern part of Pennsylvania where Mike Harbison lives. Even though Democratic voter registration edges out the Republicans, the residents of the collar counties around Allegheny chose Trump mainly because theyre conservative on issues like abortion and gay rights, strong supporters of the Second Amendment, Dont touch my guns. And because many of their ancestors worked in the mines and mills iron, coal, steel and now natural gas theyre concerned about the Democratic Partys position on the environment, he said.

In 2016, that fervor was the ingredient that elevated Trump to a win, and it was so unusual that pollsters missed the signs, predicting wrongly that Hillary Clinton would win.

Theres that word again: enthusiasm.

The Suburban Philly Woman

The environment is what pulled Kelly DeJong into politics.

She was still young when her conservative-leaning mom and stepdad publicly vocalized their opposition to a pump that would divert some water from the Delaware River. The fight over that pump lasted years and failed to stop its construction. Its now close to DeJongs home in Bucks County.

In college, she registered to vote with the Green Party, but in recent years, she switched to the Democratic Party so she could vote in the primary.

I wasnt active in politics until 2016, when Trump got elected, she said. Her oldest daughter, 6 years old during that election, saw some of Trumps ads on television and didnt like they way he talked about people. We were raising her to be kind to people. She was so upset when he ended up winning, DeJong said.

Shes now involved in local politics, especially school board elections, which have become contentious after the debate over masks escalated into arguments she found disconcerting, over the rights of LGBTQ students in school, she said.

She, too, lives close to where she grew up, a place that wasnt nearly as diverse in her childhood as college at Carnegie Mellon University, where she graduated with a degree in architecture. She moved to Los Angeles after college but moved back to southeast Pennsylvania to settle down, marry and raise a family. DeJong and her husband, who is self-employed, have two daughters.

Trump Committing ‘crimes Against’ His Own Supporters: Glenn Kirschner

Presidential Candidates: Donald Trump vs Hillary Clinton on Facebook ...

Former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner said on Sunday that ex-President Donald Trump has committed “crimes against” his supporters who continue to defend him despite his continuous actions that some critics deem controversial.

During an episode of his show Justice Matters that was posted on YouTube, Kirschner spoke about Trump’s Save America PAC which recently reportedly paid $3 million as a retainer to cover the legal fees of Chris Kise, a new lawyer hired for the former president, according to CNN.

Glenn Kirschner

A former Florida solicitor general, Kise is expected to work with Trump’s defense team who might be bracing for potentially going to court over the classified documents that the FBI seized last month from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago house.

The former federal prosecutor said that Trump’s supporters don’t have an “influential” and connected criminal defense lawyer, “so they’re being indicted, tried, convicted and imprisoned, while presumably some of them continue to send the few dollars they have to Donald Trump’s Save America PAC so he can do what? so he can take their money and pay his own criminal defense attorney.”

Kirschner was referring to the Save America PAC website which has a tab calling for donations to “Save America” and support Trump.

Newsweek reached out to Trump’s office for comment.

Defamation: Suit Over Trumps Denial Of Rape Claims By E Jean Carroll

Magazine writer E. Jean Carroll alleged Trump raped her in a New York department store dressing room in the mid 1990s and defamed her when he denied the rape, said she was not his type and alleged she made the claim to boost sales of her book.

Trump and the Justice Department say Trump was a federal employee and his statements denying Carrolls allegations were made in response to reporters questions while he was at the White House. They argue the Justice Department should be substituted as the defendant, which, because the government cannot be sued for defamation, would end the lawsuit.

A federal judge denied that effort. DOJ and Trump appealed the ruling, and no decision has been made.

Trump lost an attempt to countersue earlier this year.

Arizona Primary: What One Republican’s Fate Reveals About Trump’s Future

Pence was asked if he’d run against Trump in 2024. Hear his response

On Tuesday, Republicans in Arizona chose between a Trump-endorsed candidate, and one who testified against the former president before the 6 January committee. The man who defied Donald Trump is now out of public office for the first time in 30 years – and his fate could be a harbinger of where the Republican Party is heading in the days ahead.

Rusty Bowers stood before a handful of supporters seated at park picnic tables shielded from the blazing Arizona sun.

The long-time politician – he’s served in the state legislature since 1993 – was on the final stretch of a gruelling campaign, and he thanked the volunteers for agreeing to brave the heat and go knock on doors in a nearby Phoenix suburb.

Don Nicoll, who has known Mr Bowers for years, raised his hand. How should he respond if asked about a flurry of recent attacks against Mr Bowers – that he condones paedophilia, or election fraud, or teaching children to hate America? What should he tell voters who think Mr Bowers has been disloyal to Donald Trump or the Republican cause?

Mr Bowers shook his head and laughed. It’s not the kind of question he’s used to.

It was before Mr Bowers travelled to Washington DC in June and testified to the congressional committee investigating the US Capitol riot. He spoke emotionally there about how he felt pressured during two 2020 phone calls to violate his duty as an elected official.

Inside the arena, the message was similar.
