Trump Says Hell Instead Air Grievances At Arizona Rally Next Month

Donald Trump clashes with media at chaotic midterm election press conference

President Donald Trump speaks in front of the White House on Jan. 6, 2021.

NEW YORK Former President Donald Trump has canceled a press conference he had planned to hold in Florida on the anniversary of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol by his supporters.

Trump said in a statement Tuesday evening that he would instead be discussing his grievances at a rally he has planned in Arizona later this month.

Trump had been expected to use the press conference to rail against the congressional committee investigating the events of Jan. 6, when a mob of his supporters violently stormed the Capitol in an effort to halt the peaceful transfer of power, and to repeat his lies about the 2020 election.

Trump continues to falsely insist that the election was stolen and that the real insurrection was on Nov. 3, 2020, the day Democrat Joe Biden won a 306-232 Electoral College victory. Federal and state election officials, Trumps own attorney general and numerous judges including some he appointed have all said repeatedly that the election was fair and that there is no credible evidence of serious fraud.

In light of the total bias and dishonesty of the January 6th Unselect Committee of Democrats, two failed Republicans, and the Fake News Media, I am canceling the January 6th Press Conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday, and instead will discuss many of those important topics at my rally on Saturday, January 15th, in Arizona, Trump wrote.

Donoghue Says He Asked Doj Official In National Security Division Not To Participate In Mass Resignation Plot

During a phone call that occurred before the contentious Jan. 3 White House meeting, Donoghue said that a group of assistant attorneys general all agreed they would resign en masse if Trump replaced Rosen with Clark. Donoghue said that he directed the assistant attorney general of the national security division, John Demers, not to resign.

Donoghue said the assistant attorneys general said they would resign without hesitation and that they would leave the department if Trump fired Rosen. He said that he told Demers not to resign because his position was too important to be left open.

The committee discussed the evolution of how an outrageous conspiracy theory involving the Italian government made its way through the Trump administration and revealed that the Defense secretary sought answers on it from an Italian official.

The conspiracy theory involved Italians changing the U.S. election results and then loading them into military satellites. In response to White House chief of staff Mark Meadows passing along this theory, Richard Donoghue described it as pure insanity.

The Select Committee investigation found that this wild, baseless conspiracy theory made it from the recesses of the internet to the highest echelons of our government, Kinzinger said, pointing to a text from Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa., to Meadows asking: Why cant we just work with the Italian government?

Trump Cancels Press Conference On January 6 Anniversary At Urging Of Advisers

Former President Donald Trump abruptly canceled a news conference late Tuesday that he was scheduled to host at Mar-a-Lago on the anniversary of the , but which his allies had warned would cause unnecessary problems for Republicans and himself.

In a statement released late Tuesday afternoon, the former President confirmed that he would no longer be hosting the news conference at his oceanfront club and would instead air his grievances at an upcoming campaign-style rally in Arizona. Previewing those complaints, Trump blasted the House panel that is currently investigating the events leading up to the deadly January 6 riot in Washington and accused the news media of assisting congressional Democrats on the panel with the Crime of the Century.

This is the Democrats Great Cover-Up Committee and the Media is complicit, Trump said.

A person familiar with the situation told CNN that Trump decided to call off the event due to the news medias apparent lack of interest in covering it live on Thursday. Had the former President gone through with the news conference, he would have been competing with a series of somber tributes organized by congressional Democrats at the US Capitol. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are also slated to deliver remarks on Thursday.

The same source said Trump slowly realized that most, if not all, of the major news networks were not going to carry his press conference live or send their top reporters to Palm Beach to cover it.

Trumps Private Message To Merrick Garland Before Doj Press Conference Is Revealed: Report

Former President Donald Trump allegedly sent a private message to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland before a Department of Justice press conference Thursday afternoon, appearing to ask what he could do to help bring down the political tensions that were brought to a boiling point last week following the FBIs raid on Trumps home in Florida.

Shortly before the press conference, a person close to the former president reached out to an official at the Justice Department to deliver a message to Garland.

The New York Times reported that the message Trump wanted to be passed to Garland was: The country is on fire. What can I do to reduce the heat?

During the press conference, Garland, who was 35 minutes late, only spoke for a few minutes and answered no questions from reporters.

First, I personally approved the decision to seek a search warrant in this matter, Garland admitted during the press conference. Second, the Department does not take such a decision lightly. Where possible, it is standard practice to seek less intrusive means as an alternative to a search, and to narrowly scope any search that is undertaken.

The investigation into the former president centers around several potential criminal violations, including violations of the Espionage Act, the unlawful taking of government records, and obstruction of justice related to destroying documents.

Pure Insanity: Donoghue Speaks Out On Italian Vote Switching Conspiracy Theory During Jan 6 Hearing

The Top 6 Revelations From Donald Trumps Press Conference

Donoghue testified that Kash Patel, who was installed at the Defense Department late in Trumps term, called him and said, I heard you were given some information by the chief of staff about this Italy thing. Can you tell me what this is all about?

Kinzinger noted that Meadows did not simply advance the claim to the Justice Department, but sent it to the Defense Department too.

As you will hear, Secretary Miller reached out to a high-ranking official based in Italy to follow up on this claim, he said. The Select Committee confirmed that a call was actually placed by Secretary Miller to the attaché in Italy to investigate the claim that Italian satellites were switching votes from Trump to Biden.

This is one of best examples of the lengths to which President Trump would go to stay in power. Scouring the internet for supporting conspiracy theories, he continued. As Trump told Mr. Donoghue in that December 27th call, which Donoghue took notes on: You guys may not be following the internet the way I do.

Kinzinger said Trump had rushed back early from Mar-a-Lago on New Years Eve and called an emergency meeting with the Departments leadership a meeting in which Trump floated the idea of seizing voting machines, top DOJ officials told the committee.
