Trump Holds Campaign Rally In Florida | NBC News

Trump gave a preview of the Saturday rally that suggests he will continue pushing baseless claims of election fraud.

Look forward to seeing everyone in Arizona tomorrow! Many topics will be discussed including the Rigged Presidential Election of 2020, the fake Big Lie, the corrupt LameStream Media, the Afghanistan disaster, Inflation, the sudden lack of respect for our Nation and its leaders, and much more, Trump said in a written statement Friday. Big crowds, will also be covered on TV. See you Saturday evening!

Pm: Ward: Who Won The Election Crowd: Trump

Many if not most people in the crowd seemed to believe Trumps insistence that he really won the election by a lot. A year of investigation, numerous courts throwing out lawsuits claiming they had evidence of fraud and the results of the audit authorized by the Arizona Senate did not seem to deter crowd members from their belief.

Kelli Ward, chair of the Arizona Republican Party, who took the stage first, made that clear. She gave a brief speech that began by asking the crowd to respond to the question Who won the election?

Trump! the crowd roared.

Seeming to address concerns by many Republicans about the election system, Ward urged people to please, please go out and vote.

Ward claimed that cheating also occurred in 2016, but we overwhelmed their cheating algorithm.

Get rid of Dominion! Get rid of drop boxes! she shouted. Lets restore integrity to our election.

Many of the people in the crowd wore colorful costumes, Trump apparel and shirts supporting Trump or Arizona Republican candidates for office such as gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake or U.S. Senate contender Jim Lamon.

The crowd included many young people and senior citizens, though most in attendance seemed to be middle-aged. The festival atmosphere included food trucks, loudspeakers blaring a mix of country and classic rock, long lines for the portable toilets and a stage with bleachers for VIPs.

Diehard belief in the falsehood that Trump actually won the 2020 election was a strong theme.

Does He Attack Other Republicans

In one sense, Trump has already fired the starting pistol on a 2024 run.

He did so on the Saturday before Election Day when he called Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis DeSanctimonious at a Pennsylvania rally.

Since then, Trump has also attacked Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin as well as reprising his frequent attacks on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and firing back at internal critics such as Earle-Sears.

The attacks on DeSantis are the most noteworthy.

After his initial volley, Trump went on to describe DeSantis as an average REPUBLICAN governor with great Public Relations. In remarks published by The Wall Street Journal, Trump also threatened, If he did run, I will tell you things about him that wont be very flattering.

To his supporters, the name-calling and shade-throwing are just the latest iteration of an approach that helped propel Trump to the White House in 2016, even as it appalled the media.

But Trump is no longer attacking from a position of strength.

DeSantis won reelection in Florida by almost 20 points last Tuesday, a remarkable result in a state that was recently considered a battleground.

And Youngkin defeated Democrat Terry McAuliffe last year in a state President Biden had carried comfortably in 2020.

For many Republicans, figures such as DeSantis and Youngkin represent a brand of conservative politics that should be aped rather than derided.

Did Donald Trump Already Forget Hes Running For President

More than three weeks after announcing his candidacy for president, Donald Trump has yet to hold a rally or even leave his adoptive home state of Florida. In fact, according to recent reports, Trump has barely left his home.

The former president announced his 2024 run against the wishes of most of the GOP and his close advisers, largely out of frustration with momentum shifting to Ron DeSantis, said Alyssa Farah Griffin, the former White House communications director for Trump and current co-host on The View. Now hes several weeks into a presidential run with no real apparatus, zero message, and no events. So far, its a spite-run and its being received as poorly as one could expect.

Trump advisers and confidants are split on whether this is all part of the planmore eight-dimensional chess from a man constantly credited with grand master movesor actually another unforced error, launching a presidential campaign without state leadership in place. The static campaign is also an indication of where the MAGA movement stands within the GOP after disappointing midterm losses: intact and influential, but also rudderless and out of steam.

The 2024 campaign, thus far, has largely been a campaign in name only.

Indeed, the former president hasnt hit the trail in a meaningful way. Hes opted instead to hunker down at his Mar-a-Lago estate. That, of course, hasnt stopped the former president from making newsjust not the news a nascent presidential campaign would want.

Former Us Attorney Believes Justice Department Charges Could Happen In A Month’

Former US attorney Preet Bharara said he believes the US Department of Justice is on a path to charge Trump.

He told NBCs Meet the Press on Sunday that the counsel team investigating criminal cases involving the former president includes very seasoned prosecutors picked for the job in part to determine whether the cases can be tried in court.

I dont think they wouldve left their former positions, both in government and private practice, unless there was a serious possibility the Justice Department was looking at prosecuting, he said.

He said he believes charges could happen in a month.

Mr Bharar also said the forthcoming referrals from the House select committee are largely symbolic and that the Justice Department wont be pushed to act more quickly or aggressively.

I think they want to make a statement for themselves. I think it had no impact on the Justice Department whatsoever, he said.

Rep Moore Speaks On Upcoming Trump Rally

ENTERPRISE, Ala.

Earlier this month, it was announced that former President Donald Trump will be in Cullman next weekend for a Save America rally.

One of his strongest supporters is 2nd Congressional District Congressman Barry Moore.

Tuesday in Enterprise he talked about the upcoming rally and whether the former president is gearing up for a potential run in 2024.

Moore says he believes the rally is more about freedoms in America.

Trump, I think in a lot of ways is trying to help win House seats so as he travels to these states and Senate seats, 2nd Congressional District Rep, Barry Moore added. Obviously, hes not up for election right now, so I think hes trying to build a base for Congress to get the gavel away from Nancy Pelosi maybe get a majority in the Senate, because hes always kind of fought for those candidates and I think thats more what hes doing right now.

Moore plans to attend the rally in Cullman on August 21st.

Trump Organization Found Guilty Of Tax Fraud

Despite the indirect reproach, however, Youngkin avoided answering the specific question he was asked: whether Trump had disqualified himself as a Republican Party nominee for president.

But if Trump had hoped to scare away challengers, his sputtering launch could do the opposite, according to a senior official on Trumps 2020 campaign.

The design of this was to come out, be the front-runner and scare everyone out, and all the last few weeks have done is encourage donors and voters to go window-shopping, the source, who did not want to publicly criticize the de facto party leader, said. This is the problem with coming out this early and not being strong: All it does is force people to look for other options.

DeSantis is now more popular among Trumps 2020 supporters than Trump, according to a survey conducted by the firm WPA Intelligence as part of a review of the midterm elections. The poll found that DeSantis net favorability among Trump voters is plus-69, while Trumps is plus-44. A narrow plurality of Republicans 40 percent to 37 percent said Trump should no longer be seen as the leader and face of the GOP.

Id like to see Shermanesque statements from all the potential candidates, Bolton said. If I dont see that, then Im going to seriously consider getting in.

Trump’s universal familiarity to voters and early start grant him exclusive advantages over the crowd of hopefuls tiptoeing around the 2024 arena.

Trumps Cabinet Weighed Removing Him After Jan 6

Members of the presidents Cabinet were distressed enough by the assault on the Capitol and the presidents encouragement of the mob and refusal to intervene that they quietly discussed invoking the 25th Amendment to remove him from office, Ms. Hutchinson testified. The ignominious prospect of being the first president to be subject to the amendment was one of the reasons he agreed to record a video on Jan. 7 committing to a peaceful transfer of power.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Former President Donald Trump is coming to Miami just two days before Election Day. But one Republican wont be there Gov. Ron DeSantis. Not yet anyway.

Trump on Wednesday said hell hold a rally with Sen. Marco Rubio on Nov. 6. DeSantis was left off the announcement and an adviser to the former president said the Florida governor is not attending.

The apparent snub angered some people within DeSantis orbit, who complained that the Florida governors team was not informed of the rally prior to Trump announcing it. The timing of the Trump and Rubio event means any campaign event DeSantis holds that day wont get as much attention during the all-important final stretch of the 2022 midterms.

Youve got the Sunday before Election Day totally hijacked by Trump parachuting in on Trump Force One taking up the whole day, said a longtime Republican consultant who is close to the governor. No Republican could go to a DeSantis event that day. None. And DeSantis wont be here? This is big.

The people were granted anonymity to freely discuss the matter.

Donald Trump has announced a string of new rallies to be held across the U.S. in support of a number of candidates he has endorsed in the upcoming midterm elections.

While announcing the rallies, which are also being held in Iowa, Pennsylvania, and Florida, Trump’s Save America Super PAC said in a statement the events are a continuation of the Republican’s “unprecedented effort to advance the MAGA agenda by energizing voters and highlighting the slate of Trump Endorsed America First candidates.”

The rallies will take place as the GOP is aiming to retake control of the House and Senate in November’s midterms, which will require Trump’s endorsed candidatessome of whom have no previous political experienceto come out on top in their respective races.

Are There Any Surprises

More than seven years on from the launch of his first campaign, predicting Trumps actions remains a fools errand.

There is, as always, the possibility of the former president throwing a curveball.

But, so far, it looks like he is closing in on a campaign launch.

Hopefully, tomorrow will turn out to be one of the most important days in the history of our Country! he wrote on Truth Social on Monday.

Senate Republican Rejects Trump As Republican Party Leader

Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy, among Republican senators who voted to convict Trump during his second impeachment, told CNN on Sunday that he rejects the premise that hes the leader of the Republican Party and suggested that the GOP should consider a new nominee in 2024.

The Republican Party does not have a president in office right now, he said. It does not have anybody whos obviously not my leader.

He said that a right of center party which thinks that smaller government, that individual responsibility, that free markets is more likely to bring prosperity to a family and prosperity to our country should guide the party, then we win.

Republicans Hope To Build A ‘red Wave’ On Tuesday

Republicans were banking on Trump’s Iowa visit to help stoke a red wave of enthusiasm and discontent that could help them wipe the board of Democrats, lifting lesser-known down-ballot candidates such as Republican attorney general candidate Brenna Bird and auditor candidate Todd Halbur.

An October Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll shows Reynolds handily leading her Democratic opponent, businesswoman Deidre DeJear. The same poll shows Grassley with his narrowest lead since he was first elected to the U.S. Senate and squeaky tight contests in two of four U.S. House districts.

We’re all fired up tonight,” Reynolds told the crowd. “We’re five days out, and we talk an awful lot about a red wave. And the only way that red wave is going to happen is if we build it. And in order to build it, we need you to show up.

Please help me get my own attorney general in Brenna Bird! Reynolds said to cheers. Bird is challenging longtime Iowa Democratic Attorney General Tom Miller.

Grassley also tossed some political red meat for the crowd.

“Im not going to give up on trying to get political bias out of the FBI,” he said, drawing his biggest cheer of the night. “And Im not going to give up on my investigation of Hunter Biden and other Bidens.”

Iowa Democrats were critical of Trump and Iowa Republicans who appeared with him.
