How Trump Politicized Mail Ballots
Before 2020, vote by mail had supporters and detractors in both parties.
Republicans looked at states that spearheaded vote by mail, such as Oregon and Washington, and saw that it appeared to increase turnout most strongly among young people and people of color, who lean heavily Democratic.
At the same time, Democrats saw that no-excuse absentee ballots were popular with rural conservatives in perennial swing states places like Florida and Ohio. Then, in 2014, Colorado held its first universal vote-by-mail election, in which every registered voter automatically receives a ballot in the mail. Registered Republicans outvoted registered Democrats, according to a 2017 study commissioned by the Washington Monthly, and Republican Cory Gardner eked out a narrow victory for an open U.S. Senate seat.
That ambiguity of the data partly explains why left-leaning advocacy groups were slow to champion vote by mail over other voting reforms, like same-day voter registration and making Election Day a national holiday, before the pandemic, even though it had a much stronger record of turning out voters. In 2018, for instance, every vote-at-home state had a turnout rate at least 10 percentage points higher among eligible voters than the national average.
Indeed, 46% of Americans voted by mail in 2020, according to the Pew Research Center, which found Biden voters were nearly twice as likely as Trump voters to do so.

On October 21, 2022, the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol formally issued a subpoena to Trump. The committee voted unanimously to subpoena Trump during a public hearing on October 13. Rep. Liz Cheney offered the resolution, saying, “Our duty today is to our country, and our children, and our Constitution. We are obligated to seek answers directly from the man who set this all in motion. And every American is entitled to those answers so we can act now to protect our republic. I am offering this resolution: that the committee direct the chairman to issue a subpoena for relevant documents and testimony under oath from Donald John Trump in connection with the January 6 attack on the United States Capitol.”
On October 13, Trump responded to the subpoena on social media, saying, “Why didnât the Unselect Committee ask me to testify months ago? Why did they wait until the very end, the final moments of their last meeting? Because the Committee is a total ‘BUST’ that has only served to further divide our Country” and “The Unselect Committee knowingly failed to examine the massive voter fraud which took place during the 2020 Presidential Election – The reason for what took place on January 6th.”

When Is The Next Us Election
The next US election will be on Tuesday 5 November 2024.
This is because, under Article II of the US Constitution, one presidential term must last four years.
Election Day is statutorily set by the Federal Government as the Tuesday next after the first Monday in the month of November. This means it always falls between 2-8 November.
Tuesday was chosen as Election Day so that voters could attend church on Sunday, travel to the polling location on Monday, and vote before Wednesday, which was usually when farmers would sell their produce at the market.

Over time, being a Democrat didn’t work for me, and 9/11 was my real awakening. I realized that America needed to focus on national security and being safe.
I’m an Orthodox Jew. I grew up Orthodox, I went to religious schools and I go to synagogue all the time. I’ve dealt with anti-Semitism my whole life. I’m from New York originally and there, I experienced plenty of anti-Semitism. In Seattle, where I live now, I was running for public office in 2019 and I received anti-Semitic death threats towards myself and my family.
During a Jewish holiday, I found a note on my door from the Seattle Police Department and FBI joint task force asking me to contact them. It turned out that someone had posted anti-Semitic death threats against me and my family on a right wing website.
The Seattle police couldn’t trace the IP address, so they dropped the investigation. I knew people in the tech world in Seattle and had them hunt down the IP address it came up as a leftist activist.
So, anti-Semitism comes from the right, and it comes from the left. Social media has enabled it to grow and be seen more than it may have been seen before. People say there is more of it now. There’s not more, people are paying more attention.

Are We Election Deniers
Murray Rothbard was no fan of democracy, and its fallacies are the subject of Hans-Hermann-Hoppes great book Democracy: The God That Failed. Hoppe shows that democracy isnt a good system of government its a bad one that encourages the government to sell out to the highest bidder. But theres a type of government thats worse than democracy, if we mean by democracy government by majority rule. This is a regime with fake elections. The elites stuff the ballot boxes so that they always win, regardless of the way people vote. This is what we have today. You can be sure that brain-dead Biden didnt win the 2020 election, but the neocon elite that controls him wanted him to win, and that was that.

Q: Youve Talked About Several Types Of Problematic Information That Youve Seen Circulated About Elections Can You Explain More About That
During an election, we tend to see lots of similar examples of problematic information. We often hear the phrase fake news, as if the only problem is websites that look like newspapers, peddling false information.
But, actually, a lot of what we see is old images recirculating. For example, a stuffed ballot box from an election in Russia from previous years ago, but it gets shared in the US, with a caption suggesting that its actually from a US election today. Or social media posts or pamphlets giving the wrong information about how you can vote for example, the wrong day or falsely claiming you can vote via SMS. And in this years midterms, we actually saw examples of videos that werent false instead they showed the reality of the messiness of democracy but this was shared as evidence that the election couldnt be trusted.

Trump Sued For Defamation After Blasting Rape Claim
Mr Trump also faces a defamation case from writer E Jean Carroll, who sued Trump for defamation in 2019 in state court after he called her a liar for saying he raped her in a New York department store dressing room in the mid-1990s.
In denying her claims, Mr Trump said that she was not his type, and alleged she had made up the claim to help the sales of her book.
Trump spokesperson Liz Harrington posted a statement by the former president on Truth Social ahead of his deposition in the case on 19 October.

Wrapping up an 18-month probe into last year’s deadly attack on the US Capitol, lawmakers will convene Monday to vote on whether to recommend criminal charges against former president Donald Trump and some of his closest aides.
The select House of Representatives committee has interviewed more than 1,000 witnesses and held explosive public hearings into what happened on January 6, 2021 — and who was responsible for it.
The panel, made up of seven Democrats and two Republicans, will meet at 1:00 pm to unveil the findings on their investigation into the deadly riot, in which Trump supporters — who falsely claimed that the 2020 election was stolen from him by Joe Biden — ransacked the Capitol.
At least five people died in connection with the melee and 140 police officers were injured. About 900 people have been arrested in connection with the violent rampage, which sent shockwaves across the country and around the world.
The panel will decide whether or not to recommend that the Justice Department seek charges against Trump — who is running to retake the Oval Office in the 2024 election — on at least three counts, according to reports.
Those charges would be inciting an insurrection, obstruction of an official proceeding and conspiracy to defraud the US government, NBC News reported Sunday.
Their vote is nonbinding and largely symbolic — the decision on charges for Trump will ultimately rest with Attorney General Merrick Garland.

How Do Republicans Feel About Trump
Polling is one indication of Trumps sway over the GOP. By the end of his presidency, he had an approval rating of just 38.6%, and an October 2021 Pew Research poll found that only 44% of Republicans want Trump to run again in 2024.
But his supporters are die-hards, and some happen to be party elites and major GOP donors. Despite Trump’s 2020 electoral loss and two impeachments, his rallies are still highly attended by enthusiastic participants. And, following Trump’s criticism of the Commission on Presidential Debates as biased against him during the 2020 election, the Republican National Committee signaled its plan to require its candidates to withdraw from presidential debates.
As Perry says, He has a solid 30% or so of the American people behind him seemingly no matter what.
For now, Trump is also maintaining strong fiscal support. At the start of 2022, his team announced that its various political committees had amassed $122 million in funding. In local, state, and federal elections, the candidate who spends more money on their campaign tends to win the election. So even though Trump has yet to officially announce his 2024 candidacy, entering with millions in cash would provide him with an advantage, covering major campaign expenses such as staff salaries, wide-reaching ads, and frequent travel to campaign in key areas.
