Proud Boys Oath Keepers And Qanon Spread The Message
The online chatter quickly spread through mainstream and encrypted channels.
Members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, extremist groups already charged with seditious conspiracy by the Department of Justice for their role in the riot, collided with the QAnon movement, followers of a sprawling internet conspiracy theory starring Donald Trump as a Messianic central figure.
“President Trump’s tweet drew tens of thousands of Americans to Washington to form the angry crowd that would be transformed into a violent mob,” Mr Raskin said.
The committee established how General Flynn and Roger Stone, both members of Mr Trump’s inner circle, had ties to the groups going back years.
In a video, Stone was shown taking the Proud Boys’ oath, declaring himself a “western chauvinist”.
An organiser of the Stop the Steal rally, which Mr Trump spoke at on the morning of the insurrection, said she had repeatedly expressed concerns the rally was being co-opted by extremists, remarking, “the President likes the crazies”.
The night before delivering his speech, Mr Trump was still writing it, embellishing his aides’ words and, ultimately, ad-libbing many of the most inflammatory lines. A single scripted reference to Mike Pence became eight.
“You have to show strength and you have to be strong,” he said, unscripted.
“We have to fight like hell and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”
“I was already worked up and so were most of the people there,” he said.

Trump Tweet Blaming Crime On Blacks Hispanics Resurfaces After ‘least Racist Person’ Claim
A tweet from President Donald Trump blaming violent crime on Black and Hispanic Americans resurfaced on social media on Thursday night after the commander-in-chief claimed to be “the least racist person” at the final presidential debate.
Reacting to the president’s claim to be the “least racist person” in the room, a slew of social media users reposted his old post on violent crime with the #RacistInChief hashtag.
“Sadly, the overwhelming amount of violent crime in our major cities is committed by blacks and hispanics-a tough subject-must be discussed,” Trump tweeted in June, 2013three-and-a-half years before he took office.
At the time of writing, the president’s post has been shared more than 9,000 times and liked by 10,400 Twitter users. Many sharing the post were critical of his remarks.
Newsweek has contacted the White House for comment.
The post resurfaced last night after Trump sought to defend his record on race relations and racial inequality at his head-to-head with Joe Biden in Nashville, Tennessee. Trump was asked to respond to Americans who believed his remarks on Black Lives Matter had contributed to “racial strife” in the country.
“As far as my relationships with all people, I think I have great relationships with all people. I am the least racist person in this room.”
For Donald Trump Jr To Call For Violence And War Against Our Democratic Processes Is Irresponsible And Reprehensible
Washington, D.C., November 5, 2020 The Brady Campaign strongly condemns Donald Trump Jr.s tweet calling for total war and to clean up this mess regarding the election. Statements such as this are clearly incitement and, particularly given the charged environment surrounding the 2020 election, dangerous.Brady Campaign President Kris Brown shared:It is outrageous, dangerous, and wrong that the Presidents son called for his father, the President to go to total war over this election. That Donald Trump Jr. would obliquely call for violence is irresponsible and reprehensible. The language in this tweet was clearly incitement and, just as importantly, the Presidents son knows that – as does the President. President Trump has incited violence throughout his political career, including inciting actions that shutdown a state legislature, and inspired a foiled coup against a sitting governor just this year. Donald Trump Jr.s words are dangerous, particularly while there are serious safety concerns while election results are being processed. Armed individuals showed up to protest lawful election officials at work in Arizona last night, a clear show of intimidation, while today the Registrar of Voters for Clark County, Nevada, stated that he is afraid for his staffs safety. The Brady Campaign reiterates the need to count all the votes and echoes former Vice President Bidens prudent call for patience and calm during this time.

Trump Falsely Claims He Won Election As Millions Of Votes Remain Uncounted
President Trump addressed the nation from the White House after 2 a.m. while the outcome of the election remained unclear, claiming victories in states that have not yet been decided and portraying the orderly counting of millions of legally cast votes as an illegitimate effort to steal the election.
The president pointed to his projected wins in Florida and Texas although he falsely said nobody had projected those states and claimed hed won Georgia even as ballots are still being counted in some of that states largest counties. The president also claimed victory in North Carolina, which CBS News estimates is a toss-up.
They cant catch us, the president falsely claimed about Democrats.
The president also wrongly claimed that hes winning in Pennsylvania, where millions of ballots have yet to be counted and no winner has been projected.
Votes are still being counted in all these states, and it would clearly be premature for either candidate to declare victory. But that didnt stop the president from castrating the facts, as CBS News Norah ODonnell put it.
This is a fraud on the American public, Mr. Trump asserted, though there is no such evidence. We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election, the president added, baselessly and dangerously asserting that this election is rife with fraud.
