The Latest: Florida Ad Says He Had A Bout With Coronavirus

The Latest on the effects of the coronavirus outbreak on sports around the world:

Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin said Tuesday during a Zoom call with reporters that he tested positive for the coronavirus last month.

Stricklin says he was initially mad at himself after the diagnosis because ”I thought I was being careful.” He said he had about 48 hours where he felt really crummy and probably another three or four days where he didn’t feel like doing much before going back to normal.

Stricklin said he quarantined for 10 days after the test results and emphasized the importance of ”wearing the masks and physical distancing.”

Jockeys riding at Saratoga Race Course in upstate New York won’t be allowed to return to the track if they compete elsewhere during the upcoming summer meet.

The new rule announced Tuesday is aimed at limiting the potential spread of the novel coronavirus. The Saratoga meet opens Thursday and runs through Labor Day.

In the last week, at least six jockeys have tested positive for the coronavirus, including five who rode at Los Alamitos in Southern California earlier this month. Many of those riders then competed at other tracks around the country before learning that they had been exposed to the virus.

The New York Racing Association says riders will need to test negative from a swab taken within five days of riding their first mount at Saratoga in order to be allowed on the grounds.

Patriot Season Ticket Holder Event

NFLN: Jets vs Patriots Analysis & Sanchez, Brady I

Re: Patriot Season Ticket Holder Event

lostjumper said:That sounds like a great time. I would love to see the Pats draft board after the draft just to get an idea of what they think about different players. Even if they didn’t draft someone, it might be interesting to see what players get drafted in the first round that they had pegged as more of a 3rd round talent and vice versa, and certain players that they take completely off their board. I think it would be fascinating.

mcsully said:Bob Kraft – great opening speech how the draft has grown in popularity. Remembers the day of it being held on Tuesday.. Brought up a story in his 1st year as owner of the team. Parcells introduced this potential draft pick to Kraft and said this is the guy we want, he loves football.. Kraft shook his hand, which he noticed it disappeared in this mans enormous mit. Kraft ask is school important to you? the candidate replied.. yes sir, I will graduate on time, no matter how many years it takes me. The crowd started laughing and Kraft shouted out, this was the day I met McGinnest

Q: I Currently Own Season Tickets And Would Like To Relocate The Seats To A Different Section How Is This Done

A: Due to high retention rates among season ticket holders, it is highly unlikely. However, each offseason season ticket holders are given an opportunity to relocate their seats to locations un-renewed through the invoicing process. You will be given an online ‘reservation time’ to log into your Account Manager and browse the availability through our Mercedes-Benz Superdome Virtual Venue powered by IOMEDIA. These reservation times are assigned based on the seniority of your account.

Nfl Season Ticket Waiting Lists

The National Football League has enjoyed success in selling out many of their venues from season ticket sales alone. Out of 32 teams in the league, 24 claim to have waiting lists from under 1,000 people to over 150,000. For some fans, this means a wait not just of years, but decades. This is due mostly to the NFL’s short window of play there are only eight regular-season home games, forcing the most devoted fans into a desperate and sometimes costly search for a limited number of events.

From 1973 to 2014, the waiting lists also had the by-product of preventing any home games of certain teams from being blacked out on local television. Under the league’s blackout policy, home games were required to be sold out within 72 hours of kickoff before a telecast was allowed, and the longest waiting lists have ensured every home game of the applicable teams being locally televised. Prior to 1973, home games could not be locally televised even if they were sold out. Four teams have had the benefit of not seeing any blackouts at all since 1972 . This restriction was lifted by the FCC in October 2014, and the league followed suit by suspending its blackout policy for 2015.
