Is There A Trump Rally Tonight

In Georgia Football And Politics Converge

Deadline Approaches For Trump Team To Turn Over Documents

ATHENS, Ga. Herschel Walkers Senate campaign has had several tailwinds working for it this year: President Bidens unpopularity and steady inflation top the list.

And the Georgia Bulldogs arent hurting his cause, either. Even serious political analysts acknowledge that the Bulldogs strong season they are undefeated in the powerful S.E.C. so far may be helping Mr. Walker in his Senate race against Senator Raphael Warnock, by lifting spirits and stirring up nostalgia just in time for the most famous Bulldog ever to ask for votes.

The connection was undeniable on Saturday, when Mr. Walker was the biggest star not in uniform on the day of the biggest college football game of the year, where Georgia beat the University of Tennessee, 27-13.

Tammy Mitchell remembers being about 10 years old when she saw Mr. Walker, then a powerful young running back, lead the University of Georgia Bulldogs to a national championship in 1980.

On Saturday, she had both football and politics on her mind as she attended a rally for more than 100 Georgia Republicans and Walker supporters, decked out in red and black Bulldogs paraphernalia, some with their faces painted, as they held signs supporting Mr. Walkers candidacy for the Senate.

I think its a sign, she said.

But, he said, emotional stuff could be meaningful in such a tight race.

His whole candidacy seems to be specifically based on the fact that hes a football star, he said.

Dogging Beto O’rourke Praising Abbott

Although Gov. Greg Abbott wasnt in Robstown for Trumps rally, the former president was more than willing to take a jab at Democrat Beto ORourke, calling the Democrat a flake.

“Seventeen days from now the people of Texas are going to defeat Beto O’Rourke,” Trump said. “And we’re going to keep Greg Abbott, a wonderful man, a great man, a great governor.”

Trump has a long history of taking jabs at ORourke. In 2018, he held a rally in Houston to help U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz against ORourke. At that stop Trump called ORourke a stone-cold phony.

Abbott said earlier this week that he would not be able to be in area for the rally because he had a pre-planned fundraising event in Florida that conflicted with Trump’s schedule.

Trump on Saturday called President Joe Biden and Democrats lunatics for not supporting oil and gas jobs more in Texas.

Theyre against oil, God and guns, and then they say theyre going to do well in Texas, Trump said. I dont think so.

O’Rourke’s campaign was more than willing to let Trump campaign for Abbott in Texas, releasing a fundraising appeal to their supporters to try to counter the impact of Trump. “Like Trump, Greg Abbotts platform is rooted in fearmongering and scoring cheap political points by hurting Texans.”

Trump Goes After Biden

Trump kicked off his speech early and took hits at the Biden administration for inflation and foreign policy, among other issues. He incorrectly claimed he may have won the 2020 election in Ohio by more than 8 percentage points, which was the result certified by state election officials.

Trump also told the crowd they need to send Vance to the U.S. Senate and kept directing comments to J.D. throughout his remarks.

Former President Donald Trump is holding a rally in Texas two days before early voting starts for the November election.

The rally will be Saturday in Robstown, outside Corpus Christi on the Gulf Coast. Republicans are targeting districts in the area as they try to take over South Texas congressional seats.

The rally will start at 7 p.m. at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds, according to a media advisory. Trump’s team announced Tuesday that additional speakers would include Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Attorney General Ken Paxton. Gov. Greg Abbott said he would not be able to attend due to an out-of-state fundraising trip.

The advisory said Trump would speak in support of his unprecedented effort to advance the MAGA agenda by energizing voters and highlighting the slate of 33-0 Trump Endorsed America First candidates in the Great State of Texas. The 33-0 figure refers to his endorsement record in the Texas primaries and runoff earlier this year, which included some incumbents who faced nominal or no opposition.

Among Trumps endorsees is Abbott who is fighting against Democrat Beto ORourke for a third term.

In Pennsylvania Trump Predicts Gop Victories In Midterms Teases Another White House Run

Speaking to a crowd of thousands on an airport tarmac near Pittsburgh on Saturday night, former President Trump predicted victory for his Republican Party in Tuesdays midterm elections and foreshadowed his all-but-certain campaign to regain the presidency.

In a nearly two-hour speech that featured his usual false claims about the 2020 election being stolen from him, Trump described an America beset by a wide-open southern border, city streets ruled by bloodthirsty gangs and violent criminals, and twisted race and gender insanity in our schools.

Theres nothing good to say about whats happening in our country, he said. But on Tuesday night, I think there are going to be incredible things to say.

Trumps prediction of GOP triumph Tuesday may well bear fruit. Republicans are heavily favored to regain control of the House of Representatives, and the outcome of the Senate fight hinges on a few tight races like the one in Pennsylvania, where Democratic Lt. Gov. John Fetterman is facing off against Trumps pick, the celebrity television doctor Mehmet Oz.

The rally Saturday was ostensibly in support of Oz and Trumps gubernatorial pick, state Sen. Doug Mastriano. But the former president was the main event.

Trumps fans, who began gathering at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport at 8 a.m., had to wait.

Look at all of them, Trump said, referring to the news media. They must think Im going to announce for president tonight.

Pm: Hundreds Wait In Line For Access To Theatre

Doors opened at the Arizona Federal Theatre at around 9:30 a.m. for about 1,000 people donning MAGA hats and red white and blue waiting in line, according to volunteer organizers.

Food vendors and booths selling merchandise like Trump 2024 hats lined the corners of intersections around the venue.

Organizers said people started camping to wait in line on Friday night.

Police blocked several streets near the venue and officers stood next to police vehicles as people waited in line.

There didnt appear to be any protesters at or near the event on Saturday afternoon.

Pm: Lake Fires Up Crowd But Doesn’t Mention 2020 Election

Republican candidate for Arizona governor Kari Lake, the former television news anchor, spoke for 18 minutes on Sunday without once mentioning the 2020 election and the false claims about it that propelled her to political prominence.

Instead, Lake painted her Democratic opponent Katie Hobbs as an absent candidate who refused to debate her, while Lake has toured the state speaking directly to voters. She connected Hobbs to the Biden administration, claiming Hobbs would raise taxes on Arizonans already feeling the brunt of record-high inflation. Hobbs has said she does not plan to do so, and either candidate would need the Legislatures agreement to change tax policy.

Lake repeatedly noted a discrimination case Hobbs was involved in while Hobbs was the Democratic leader in the state Senate. A Black female Democratic staffer proved to two juries she was discriminated against and fired in retaliation by Hobbs and others after raising an issue over her pay disparity.

Those verdicts, Lake said, showed Hobbs had already embarrassed the state and should not lead it. Her attacks prompted cheers from the crowd.

Theyre saying lock her up, Lake said. I think we should just vote her out, hows that?

It is said hard times create strong men, well they create strong women too, she said. And this woman is ready to put an end to the hard times. Who is ready to step up with me?

The crowd chanted back: Kari! Kari! Kari!

Trumps Save America Rally In Nebraska Draws Thousands

Trump Lawyers Saw Justice Thomas As Key To Overturning Election Results

GREENWOOD, Neb. Former President Donald Trump spoke at his Save America rally Sunday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood.

Trumps rally was in support of Nebraska gubernatorial candidate Charles Herbster.

Hope to see you at the I-80 Speedway today for the Save America Rally! Doors open at 12:00PM

Charles W. Herbster May 1, 2022

The I-80 Speedway in Greenwood is about 36 miles southwest of Omaha.

The rally was originally scheduled for Friday, April 29, but was delayed due to severe weather. Supporters started lining up at 10 a.m. Friday, some of them opting to camp out at the site overnight Thursday.

I hope its not fake news that we had to make this decision, Herbster told the crowd already gathered for the event.

Thousands came out for the rescheduled rally on Sunday, and chanted USA as the former President took the stage.

An hour into making remarks, Trump mentioned why he was there to support Charles Herbster. He invited Herbster on stage with him.

I think Charles is going to do very well, and if he does, youll be very happy and youre gonna have an even more prosperous state, weve made it very prosperous, and I really think hes going to do just a fantastic job and if I didnt feel that, I wouldnt be here, Trump said.

The rally comes shortly after Herbstere was accused of sexual misconduct toward eight women, including Republican state senator Julie Slama.

Trump said Herbster has been put through the grinder unfairly.

‘whoever Votes For Beto’ Won’t Vote For Me

ROBSTOWN Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, speaking ahead of Trump, urged the crowd in Robstown to support GOP candidates up and down the ballot, singling out a handful of local Republicans from the Corpus Christi area.

Among the Patrick-promoted candidates was Adam Hinojosa, the GOP nominee in an open race for the state Senate seat held by retiring Democrat Eddie Lucio, Jr.

As lieutenant governor, Patrick presides over the 31-member Senate, where he is hoping to expand Republicans current 18-13 advantage.

Patrick also predicted there would be few midterm voters who split their tickets by voting for a mix of Democratic and Republican statewide candidates.

Whoever votes for Beto surely isnt crossing over to vote for me. We have nothing in common, Patrick said. So everyone who votes for Beto votes against me, votes against Ken Paxton, and all the way down the ballot. Thats why it is so important to get everyone you know to vote every Republican all the way down the ballot.

For decades, Texas voters could check a single box to automatically vote for every candidate on the ballot from their preferred party, a practice known as straight-ticket voting. Lawmakers removed the option starting with the 2020 election, giving down-ballot candidates more control over their fate than before.

Am: 17 Visits And Counting

Arizona’s political preeminence seems like a given these days, but the red state-turned-purple battleground coincides almost perfectly with the political rise of Donald Trump.

The former president found early enthusiasm for his America-first message in Arizona in 2015, and he never really stopped coming back.

His scheduled rally in Mesa will add to an Arizona total no president or presidential contender can rival, with big asterisks for Barry Goldwater and John McCain, who lived in the state while pursuing the White House.

According to Republic research, Trump has made at least 17 visits since entering politics.

That is a list that began on July 11, 2015, with a stop in Phoenix that focused on immigration and helped set the tone for his upstart campaign.

Trump visited the state seven times in 2020. That included a just weeks before the pandemic halted campaign visits for months.

In May 2020, Trump started to move about again, with a stop at a Phoenix Honeywell facility making respirator masks to cope with the health crisis and to discuss aid to Native Americans.

He wound up losing Arizona in 2020 by fewer than 11,000 votes, the smallest margin in the country.

Trump made his first post-presidential visit to Arizona on July 24, 2021, at a Turning Point Action rally in Phoenix in which he saw firsthand the raucous reception to Kari Lake by Republicans.

  • How To Watch Donald Trump’s Texas Rally With Dan Patrick And Ken Paxton

Former President Donald Trump is set to attend a “Save America” rally Saturday night in Robstown, Texas, to back GOP candidates Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and state Attorney General Ken Paxton who are up for reelection ahead of this year’s midterms.

Trump’s rally will take place at 7 p.m. CDT at Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds. The former president is expected to deliver remarks and show support for Patrick, who is running in the lieutenant gubernatorial race for a third-term against Democratic candidate Mike Collier, and Paxton who is running for state attorney general against Democratic candidate Rochelle Garza.

The rally comes during a time where Trump has been recently subpoenaed by the House select committee to testify under oath about last year’s Capitol riot when a group of his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol building to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden‘s electoral college victory.

The Robstown, Texas, rally is held “in support of his unprecedented effort to advance the MAGA agenda by energizing voters and highlighting the slate of 33-0 Trump Endorsed America First candidates in the Great State of Texas,” according to the “Save America” event description.
