Leading up to the midterm elections, Republican candidates fought for an endorsement from former President Donald Trump. However, rather than being a golden ticket, it seems that Mr Trumps endorsement is more of a coin flip according to polling data from midterm contests that have been called, the former presidents preferred candidates were only successful in about half the House and governor races, though so far have been doing well in Senate races.
His longtime critic, outgoing Congresswoman Liz Cheney, did better with her endorsements, though she made significantly fewer than the former president.

Former President Donald Trump on Monday told a crowd at an Ohio rally that hell be making a very big announcement from his Florida estate next week.
Many Trump insiders had expected that the former president would use Mondays rally outside of Dayton, Ohio, to officially launch his 2024 campaign.
But his speech came and went with no announcement just a tease of a future one.
Im going to be making a very big announcement on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Mar-a-Lago, Florida, Trump told the rally-goers.
We want nothing to detract from the importance of tomorrow, Trump added, referencing the Nov. 8 midterm elections.
Several members of the Trump clan, including the former presidents two sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump and their significant others, Kimberly Guilfoyle and Lara Trump, were in attendance for the announcement of the announcement, leading to intense speculation that Trump would use the event to declare his 2024 intentions.
Trump used the evening to tout his White House accomplishments, praise Republicans hes backed for office, and denounce the Biden administration and Democrats for what he called their growing left-wing tyranny.
Trump used a particularly large portion of his address to rail against the situation at the southern border.
There is no more urgent task than to stop the invasion on the southern border, Trump said, adding that he believes it is the worst border in the history of the world anywhere.
Trump Rally Live Updates: Former President Hints At 2024 Run In Iowa
Former President Donald Trump kicked off a flurry of events in the final days of the midterm elections with a rally Thursday night in Iowa.
Trump took the stage in Sioux City, Iowa, around 8.40 p.m. EST on Thursday night. He appeared with Gov. Kim Reynolds and Sen. Chuck Grassley ahead of their midterm election bids next week.

The appearance came after the former president gave perhaps the greatest hint yet he is planning to run in 2024, appearing with former campaign staff in a new video in which they beg him to make another play for the White House. He again hinted at a 2024 run during the rally, telling his supporters to “get ready.”
After his appearance in Iowa tonight, Trump is heading to Pennsylvania, Florida, and Ohio for rallies before Election Day on Nov. 8.

Rumours circulated that former president Donald Trump might announce a third run for president at a rally in Ohio Monday evening, the night before the 2022 midterms.
One Republican source told The New York Post that Mr Trump has been telling people he might tonight, but its not a done thing.
Maggie Haberman at The New York Times reported a similar rumour, saying that he was considering announcing his run on Monday evening. But some Republicans fear that Mr Trump would be blamed for some Republican losses if he were to make the election about himself.
Most Republicans hope to keep the focus on President Joe Biden and criticising him for inflation and the economy.
Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida, Mr Trumps most dogged defender in Congress throughout his administration and afterward, tweeted that he should announce Monday evening as well.

During his speech, Trump announced he plans to make a big announcement Tuesday, Nov. 15 in Mar-a-Lago.
Many anticipate this will be the announcement to run for president in 2024.

There is speculation growing that former President Donald Trump may announce a 2024 presidential bid tonight at his political rally in Dayton.
Last week, reports from both CBS and CNN indicated that the former president was mulling announcing his intention to run for the White House shortly after the midterms, News Center 7 previously reported.
New reports from The Hill and the New York Post indicate that Trump is considering pushing up his announcement to this evening, the night before the midterm elections. News Center 7 has not be able to confirm the reports.

DAYTON, Ohio While at a rally in support of Senate candidate J.D. Vance, former President Donald Trump said he will be making a “very big announcement” Tuesday, Nov. 15.
The Hill previously reported citing unnamed sources Trump had discussed this with aides potentially making a presidential announcement at the Dayton rally Monday night. The report said the decision was not final, noting that Trump himself said at a Sunday rally in Florida that he will probably run again, adding: Stay tuned tomorrow night in the great state of Ohio. Stay tuned.
Trump teased his official campaign announcement multiple times at the rally, commenting on how Republicans can take back the White House during the next presidential election and speaking about other candidates. Toward the end of his speech, the former president said he would make an announcement later so as to not “detract from the importance of tomorrow.”

No Senate race in the country has received as much money and attention as the hotly contested and at-times divisive contest between Republican Mehmet Oz and Democrat John Fetterman in Pennsylvania.
And with over one million ballots already cast and Election Day just hours away, the reason is clear: Republican Sen. Pat Toomey’s retirement in a state President Joe Biden won two years ago has created Democrats’ best opportunity to pick up a seat and save their narrow majority. For Republicans, holding the seat is key to toppling that majority.
“This is a must-win race,” said Steven Law, president of the Senate Leadership Fund, the preeminent Republican Senate super PAC that has blanketed the state with tens of millions in ads attacking Fetterman. “We believe if we win Pennsylvania, we win the majority.”
With even upbeat Democrats conceding the party is unlikely to keep control of the House on Tuesday, Senate control is arguably the most closely watched battle on Election Day. Republicans only need a net gain of one seat. Democrats are focused on protecting incumbents in Nevada, Arizona, New Hampshire and Georgia and possibly flipping seats in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Ohio.
But it is the race in Pennsylvania that both parties view as critical. From Labor Day through Election Day, nearly $160 million will be spent on ads by both parties, more than any other Senate race, according to ad tracker AdImpact.

Republican governor sweeps to victory in Florida while former president condemned for failure of anticipated red wave
Donald Trump was branded the Republican partys biggest loser following the US midterms on Tuesday, while his party rival Ron DeSantis swept to victory in a landslide in Florida, giving him a strong platform to challenge the former president in 2024.
If Trump was the Republican loser of the US midterms despite not being on the ballot paper it was DeSantis who emerged the partys big winner. Before Tuesdays election night, when the beaming Republican governor took to the stage in Tampa with his wife Casey and children to claim victory over woke ideology, Trump had looked like the probable 2024 presidential Republican candidate.
But after DeSantiss highly convincing re-election against Democrat Charlie Crist, in which the governor took 59.4% of the vote with 99% reporting, the relative political newcomer is being tipped as a potential GOP frontrunner.
In an indicator of the changing tide, News Corp newspaper the New York Post, historically a champion of the former president and which just two years ago endorsed Trump for re-election, declared the Florida governor DeFUTURE on its front page.
An article by Fox News, another traditional Trump ally, reported that Trump was blasted across media spectrum, citing a quote describing the former president as the biggest loser tonight.
Trump In Wilmington Tonight For Political Rally
WILMINGTON, N.C. – Former President Donald Trump will be in Eastern Carolina tonight for a political rally.
Trump will make a 7:00 p.m. speech at the Aero Center at the Wilmington International Airport.
The rally is expected to include Republican candidates from throughout the state, including Rep. Ted Budd, who is in a tight U.S. Senate race with Cheri Beasley.
Doors open for the event at 2:00 p.m. with speakers beginning at 4:00 p.m.
The event comes at the end of a difficult week for the former president, First, he and his family were sued by the New York attorney general, and then the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the U.S. Justice Department could continue to review documents seized in the Mar-A-Lago search last month.

Top aides to former President Donald Trump have discussed the third week of November as an ideal launch point for his 2024 presidential campaign if Republicans fare well in the midterm elections next week, sources familiar with the matter tell CNN.
Two sources said Trump’s team has specifically discussed Nov. 14 as one possible announcement date, which would come in the middle of an overseas trip to Asia that President Joe Biden has long been scheduled to make. Trump is unlikely to announce prior to that Monday, even if the GOP exceeds expectations on Election Night, to avoid overshadowing his daughter Tiffany’s Nov. 12 wedding at Mar-a-Lago and because he does not want to share a news cycle with midterm results, sources said.
These sources also cautioned that no date has been locked in and Trump could push it back if control of the Senate remains undecided after Election Day or Republicans see underwhelming gains in their House races. While discussions about where Trump should launch his next White House bid have occurred, one person familiar with the matter said his team has not yet made a decision on a venue and is still toying with an announcement close to home in Palm Beach, Florida, where he has headquartered his political operation since leaving Washington, or in a Rust Belt battleground area like Ohio or Pennsylvania.
