Michael Cohen Accuses Doj Of Tiptoeing Around Donald As If He Was King
Michael Cohen, a former lawyer and fixer for Donald Trump who has since become one of his fiercest critics, believes that it wont be long before the ex-president is indicted by the Department of Justice for the materials seized from his Mar-a-Lago residence.
I think that there is going to be an indictment, and relatively soon, Mr Cohen said Thursday while speaking on MSNBCs The Reidout. I believe there will also be congressional hearings with Donald in the hot seat, you know, either hell come in willingly, which you know I dont think he will, or via subpoena.
The former lawyer for Mr Trump told host Joy Reid that he believes the real questions they have to be asking right now is, you know, Where are the documents that were in these empty top-secret files that were found at Mar-a-Lago?
I mean, thats really the big question, and who did Donald give them to or show them to?
At one point in the interview, Mr Cohen seemed to express frustration with the pace at which the DoJ was handling Mr Trumps alleged criminal activities, claiming that the federal agency had been tiptoeing around the one-term president as though he were a supreme leader or monarch.
When host Ms Reid expressed her opinion that she viewed Mr Trump as untouchable, Mr Cohen pushed back and said he didnt believe that would be the case this time.
I dont agree with you in the fact that hes not going to be held accountable for this, Mr Cohen said. This is too big at this point in time.

What Challenges Would A Third Trump Bid Face
Trump is under investigation by federal prosecutors for his handling of classified documents found at his resort and his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
The former presidents alleged interference in the election is also under investigation by prosecutors in Georgia, and state and city officials in New York have accused him and his oldest children of fraudulently inflating the value of his companys properties.
If Trump declared another run for president, it would not protect him from prosecution, but Justice Department officials would consider appointing a special counsel to take over the investigation, according to the Washington Post.
Despite shifting political winds and legal setbacks, there is a historical precedent for Trumps bid for a non-consecutive second presidential term.
Grover Cleveland, the former New York governor, served as the 22nd and 24th presidents of the US, after the Democrat lost his bid for a second consecutive term.

Donald Trumps onetime press secretary, Sean Spicer, said his former boss would run for the presidency again in 2024.
Hes in, Spicer claimed of Trumps interest in the race during a recent Washington Examiner interview.
Spicer reportedly remarked that Trumps appetite for the presidential election had been bolstered over the last several months, after watching Joe Bidens handling of issues such as immigration.
A couple of months ago, I wasnt sure, Spicer said of a Trump run in the interview. Now there needs to be something that will keep him out.
The Examiner does not state whether Spicer is giving his opinion or whether he has spoken to the former president or has definitive word from his inner circle, or similar information.
As Trumps first White House press secretary, Spicer faced doubts over credibility when he addressed the media, and hence the public, from the podium in televised briefings.
He has since claimed that he didnt knowingly lie to the American public.
His latest claim came amid continued speculation about Trumps political plans following his in the 2020 election, which officials at local, state and national level called the most secure presidential contest in US history.
Spicer resigned from his position as White House press secretary in July 2017 following a chaotic six months.

Department Of Justice And Trump Legal Team To File List Of Special Master Candidates
A Friday deadline has been imposed for the Trump legal team and the Department of Justice to jointly file a list of possible candidates who could serve as a special master over the materials seized by the FBI from the former presidents Mar-a-Lago estate in August.
This week, a US district judge, appointed by Donald Trump, awarded the ex-presidents request for a third-party to review documents from the raid and filter through items that they believe should be kept from prosecutors, either because of attorney-client privilege or executive privilege.
The ruling temporarily prevents agents from reviewing the seized records as part of their criminal investigation.
At the same time that the pair of legal teams are drafting a list of hypothetical third-party candidates, the Department of Justice on Thursday has asked the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals to reverse the Trump-appointed district judges order.

And a review in Michigan, nowhere near enough to have tipped the outcome of the election, which Biden won in the state by more than 154,000 votes.
