Trump Sent Cryptic Message To Merrick Garland Before Warrant Was Unsealed: ‘the Country Is On Fire What Can I Do To Reduce The Heat’

Haberman reveals the message Trump tried sending to Garland
  • Trump reportedly wanted to tell Merrick Garland that the FBI’s raid of Mar-a-Lago enraged Americans.

  • His message was said to be: “The country is on fire. What can I do to reduce the heat?”

  • Several people on social media suggested they’d interpreted Trump’s words as a veiled threat.

Former President Donald Trump attempted to convey a cryptic message to Attorney General Merrick Garland following the FBI raid of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, The New York Times reported over the weekend.

The report said Trump wanted Garland to know he had been speaking with people around the country who were enraged by the FBI search.

A person familiar with the exchange told the paper that the message Trump wanted to be conveyed to Garland was: “The country is on fire. What can I do to reduce the heat?”

The Times said a person close to the former president had reached out to a Justice Department official to give Garland the message. It wasn’t clear whether the message reached Garland.

Severalpeopleonsocialmediasuggested Trump’s message to Garland could be interpreted as a veiled threat.

Robert Maguire, a research director at the nonprofit Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, said the message appeared to suggest that Trump could “fan the flames of violence.”

Big Bucks From Small Donors

The digital worlds growing footprint over the past two decades has been a boon for political marketers.

There are now so many more ways to reach a target audience.

And yet, despite its old-school dagginess, email continues to be a mainstay of political marketing and an effective, cost-efficient way to raise funds and spread the word.

Political parties spend time and money building, buying and fine-tuning email lists.

The 2020 US election is already the most costly in US political history, and in the final days, both parties are vying to outspend the other to boost their chances at the polls.

To date, some $US3.7 billion has already been spent by the two contenders, and the final tally is projected to top $US5 billion, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a Washington-based independent research group tracking political funding and its impact.

While bigwigs continue to donate eye-watering sums to both sides, small donors play an important role in US political fundraising.

These fundraising emails I receive are aimed at those small donors people who can only afford to chip in $US200 or less.

Melania Trump Wears Slogan Jacket

When or how did Melania Trump become a billboard? When I saw the first lady Melania Trump wearing a slogan jacket reading I dont really care do u ?, I can say I wasnt too shocked. Since in life I have always said you lie down with the dogs and youll wake up with the fleas .

First and foremost darlings this is a fashion blog not a political site. However sometimes these two fields cant help but cross paths. Here on this blog I have written several times on politics and am proud to put across my points of view. While I dont claim to be a political pundit I have certain political views and educate myself accordingly.

Here are a list of my political posts in case you want to check them out

Therefore my friends I will occasionally cover political issues , but always through fashions eye.

Donald Trump Could Get Crushed In 2024 For One Reason

Donald Trump has a clear problem on his hands that won’t be easy to fix if he wants to win in 2024: He needs a strong team around him if he is going to win. Can he get a loyal team who can take his message and make it into something that can win the American people over?

Perhaps the only thing that Trumpers and anti-Trump activists can agree on is that former President Donald Trumps 2024 presidential campaign announcement didnt share the same high energy feel of his 2016 campaign announcement.

Thats to be expected, of course, given that the former presidents intentions were clear since the moment he left the White House in January 2021 but the lack of fanfare around his announcement, combined with a series of major missteps suggest that the 2024 Trump team even if staffed by some of the same people is markedly different from his 2016 team.

And its certainly not for the better.

Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!

March 4, 2017

In a succession of tweets on March 4, 2017, Trump stated he had “just found out” that his predecessor Obama had wiretapped the phones in his offices at Trump Tower during the last months of the 2016 election. Trump did not say where he had obtained the information and offered no evidence to support it. Trump compared the alleged intrusion to McCarthyism and Watergate. Anonymous White House officials told The Washington Post that Trump did not appear to coordinate his comments with other White House officials.

Although no evidence supported Trump’s claims, the tweets resulted in a week of media attention. Fake news websites also took up the allegations, and one falsely claimed that a warrant for Obama’s arrest had been given.

2016 campaign: Investigation into Russian influence

Trump repeatedly attacked former FBI Director James Comey, whom Trump dismissed from office, via Twitter. Trump has posted a number of angry tweets directed at Robert Mueller, who was appointed as a special prosecutor to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Less than four months after former President Donald J. Trump left office, the general counsel of the National Archives reached out to three lawyers who had worked with Mr. Trump to convey a firm message: The archives had determined that more than two dozen boxes of Mr. Trumps presidential records were missing, and it needed the lawyers immediate assistance to retrieve them, according to an email obtained by The New York Times.

The email, sent on May 6, 2021, by the top lawyer at the archives, Gary M. Stern, was an early sign of tension between Mr. Trump and the federal agency responsible for safeguarding presidential records. It presaged the battle that would later erupt over the former presidents removal of scores of highly sensitive documents from the White House.

On Tuesday, the archives released a separate letter, indicating that Mr. Trump had taken more than 700 pages of classified materials when he left Washington. Among them, the letter said, were some related to Special Access Programs, which are among the countrys most secretive intelligence operations.

Gutfeld: Trump is sending a clear message that he means what he says

Donald Trump writes to me often, usually several times a day. The president, as he calls himselfnone of that former businesswants me to know how much he values me as a trusted ally. He is forever offering me exciting opportunities, like the chance for my name to be permanently engraved on the Official 2022 Trump Donor Wall in his office. All I need to do for this to happen is contribute $45 by midnight.

Space is extremely limited, the president warned. This could be your only chance.

President Trump is always looking out for me that way. He has told me countless times that I must act quickly because time is running out. Hes been saying that about the Donor Wall since he first brought it up, weeks ago. Since then, hes given me a generous number of only chances.

The president and others in his inner circle, including Donald Jr., have also sent me multiple limited-time offers to have my name appear on his birthday card. Ive been given about ten last chances to do this since mid-May, including one from Jr. that promised me priority access to sign my fathers Official Birthday Card before ANYONE ELSE. I missed all of these chances. But, who knows, maybe there will be others before his actual birthday on June 14?

But only if I act before 11:59 p.m. Otherwise, I am just going to have to wait until the following day.

This has been going on for years.

How Do These Mass Text Messages Work

Political campaigns tap companies such as Hustle or RumbleUp that employ hundreds of people who each send thousands of text messages to potential voters. Theyre exactly like the text messages that you or I send to our friends and family, and are categorized as peer-to-peer, or P2P messages. Thats different from whats known as application-to-peer, or A2P, messages, which are more formal blast text messages.

Since P2P messages are normally supposed to be more limited exchanges between individuals, systems may flag accounts that send too many messages. If, for instance, you send more than 1,000 messages in a day, those messages will likely get blocked.

Companies will work with the carriers ahead of time to get prior approval to send these mass messages.

I do think we need to be thinking about the future and not the past. I think the American people are focusing on this administration, what its doing to the country, and its my hope the 22 election will be a referendum on the performance of the current administration, not a rehash of suggestions about what may have happened in 2020.

Donald Trump‘s use of social media attracted attention worldwide since he joined in May 2009. Over nearly twelve years, Trump tweeted around 57,000 times, including about 8,000 times during the 2016 election campaign and over 25,000 times during his presidency. The White House said the tweets should be considered official statements. When Twitter banned Trump from the platform in January 2021 during the final days of his term, his handle @realDonaldTrump had over 88.9 million followers.

As Trump continued to issue brief statements, his spokesperson Liz Harrington tweeted screenshots of them under the Save America logo from June 2021 to June 2022. Since then, however, her Twitter handle @realLizUSA has been infrequently used. She said she would move to Truth Social, a Trump-affiliated social media application that launched on February 21, 2022. On November 19, 2022, after Elon Musk purchased Twitter, Trump’s Twitter account was unbanned.

    Writing To The President

    Directions

There are many reasons kids would like to write to the president. They might be concerned about the environment or youth crime. Your letter will be read by a White House secretary who may refer it to the president. No matter who reads it, however, you will receive a reply. Your letter can be neatly handwritten or typed. It should be short and to the point, with your concern clearly stated. Here is an example:

Dear Mr. President, I am a 6th grader at Jackson Middle School and I am very concerned about the depletion of the ozone layer. I dont want to grow up in a world that is unprotected from the harmful effects of direct sunlight. I am writing this letter to ask you to help by increasing penalties for companies with harmful environmental practices. Please do whatever you can.

They Tried To Get Trump To Care About Right

Still, the appearance by Turley at a party meeting indicates that GOP leaders are strongly considering joining the constitutional arguments against impeachment. Sen. Joni Ernst , a member of leadership, said on Monday night that President Trump exhibited poor leadership and holds some responsibility for the anarchy, but added she was concerned impeaching a former president sets a dangerous standard.

Several Senate Republicans are citing their status as jurors when asked if theyll stick up for the former president. Sen. Lindsey Graham , a Trump ally who has ripped Democrats for impeaching the ex-president, said he has faith in Trumps lawyers and that Trump needs to trust them. A fellow South Carolinian, Butch Bowers, will lead Trumps impeachment defense.

Its become a common adage within the Senate GOP that if the trial had occurred on Jan. 7, Trump might have seen a flood of Republicans looking to make a clean break with him. But now the final vote might not take place until late February and the number of GOP senators truly weighing whether to convict the president is likely short of the 17 needed to join all 50 Democrats.

A lot of people made strong statements, and I put myself in the category, of what the presidents role was, particularly right after Jan. 6 happened. And the disappointment and shock, said Sen. Shelley Moore Capito . And I suppose as time goes on the political considerations begin to weigh in.
