Storming Of The Capitol

On January 6, 2021, while was taking place in the United States Capitol, Trump held a rally at , where he called for the election result to be overturned and urged his supporters to take back our country by marching to the Capitol to show strength and fight like hell. Trumps speech started at noon. By 12:30 p.m., rally attendees had gathered outside the Capitol, and at 1 p.m, his supporters pushed past police barriers onto Capitol grounds. Trumps speech ended at 1:10 p.m., the crowd grew larger as more supporters marched on the Capitol. Around 2:15 p.m. the mob broke into the building, disrupting certification and causing the evacuation of Congress. During the violence, Trump posted mixed messages on Twitter and Facebook, eventually tweeting to the rioters at 6 p.m, go home with love & in peace, but describing them as great patriots and very special, while still complaining that the election was stolen. After the mob was removed from the Capitol, Congress reconvened and confirmed the Biden election win in the early hours of the following morning. There were many injuries, and five people, including a Capitol Police officer, died.

Wsj Publishes Letter From Trump Continuing To Allege Voter Fraud In Pa

Trumps letter, dated Oct. 25, was sent to Journal editor Matt Murray and accuses the publication of printing falsehoods about mail-in ballots used during Pennsylvanias 2020 presidential election.

The former president lost the state to President BidenJoe BidenIdaho state House passes worker vaccine compensation billBiden sends 2016 climate treaty to Senate for ratificationRubio vows to slow-walk Bidens China, Spain ambassador nomineesMORE in November.

The Journals op-ed piece makes the case for Judge Kevin Brobson, a GOP nominee running for Pennsylvanias Supreme Court. He currently sits on an appeals bench, a step below the states high court.

The opinion piece states that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court needs an injection of judicial restraint after it carved out an exception due to COVID-19 to accept ballots for the 2020 election that arrived three days late.

The board goes on to state that these votes were segregated from the final tally and that they did not matter because the president won the state by more than 80,000 votes. However, the piece argues, if the race had been closer, the states presidential election could have been determined by the U.S. Supreme Court.

The former president in his letter argued that the election was rigged, a common refrain from Trump, who has also repeatedly alleged that the 2020 election was tainted by widespread voter fraud.

The former president went on to provide a bulleted list of points alleging foul play in the election.

I truly feel like Im not alone with all of this stuff going on

It is easy to use and soothing a good thing for anybody who is willing to relax and go into the receptive and allowing mode. The voice speaking is very calming and soothing, and the words spoken, the consciousness within the vibration of the words, resonates with me. I truly feel like Im not alone with all of this stuff going on in this reality, and on the planet, that Ive had real difficulty navigating through all of my life. So listening to both of them gives me another chance to change tracks and I feel like someone has my back.

British Elections Send A Message To Trump Gop And Bidens Democrats

If Donald Trump were at all self-reflective, he would probably be kicking himself right now as he surveys the results of last weeks British elections. Through his own mistakes and obstinance in his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, he might conclude that he kicked away his chance to serve a second term in the White House.

These were the first elections in Britain since Boris Johnson became prime minister in 2019 and Johnsons Conservative Party came out winning, both in local races and in a signature victory in a working-class, parliamentary district in northeast England long held by the Labour Party.

Johnson, like Trump, mishandled the early stages of the pandemic. Like the former U.S. president, he contracted covid-19, and had a far worse case, having been hospitalized and in intensive care for a time. But his later handling of the pandemic was less uneven, and this year Britain stepped farther and faster in administering vaccinations than other European nations. It helped.

The British elections were not purely about the coronavirus pandemic, but nothing in politics today is free from the viruss effects in health, economic well-being and the public mood. On the most important issue of campaign 2020, Trump was a victim of his own making.

As Republicans debate Trumps role and what it means to be a conservative, Johnson, like Trump, is rewriting the rules of what conservatism means.

Fridays positive jobs report might have been a day of exclamation points and all-caps self-congratulation for Donald J. Trump if he were A) still president, and B) still allowed to post on Twitter.

Instead, there was a somber tweet from the White House chief of staff, Ron Klain, who downplayed the 379,000 newly created jobs as not good enough, and Mr. Trump himself used a muted megaphone he once eschewed email to address an array of topics tailor-fit for social media.

Despite being delayed by years of litigation and politics by the Democrats, the wall is almost finished and can be quickly completed. Doing so will save thousands of lives, Mr. Trump wrote in an email on Friday, responding to recent White House moves to reverse his immigration and border wall policies.

Keep illegal immigration, crime, and the China Virus out of our country! he added in the email, sent by his post-presidential office.

More On The Trump Documents Inquiry

Mayor Caldwell discusses letter to President Trump and clarifies essential activities

In his email, Mr. Stern noted that there were two sets of documents in particular the archives could not find: the original correspondence between Mr. Trump and the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, and a letter that President Barack Obama had left for Mr. Trump on his first day in office.

Mr. Stern told the lawyers that just before Mr. Trump left office, the letters from Mr. Kim were placed in a binder for the president but never made their way to the archives, as required by the law. It is essential that these original records be transferred to NARA as soon as possible, he wrote, using the acronym for the National Archives and Records Administration.

Presidential Campaign And 2011 Hints At Presidential Run

In 2000, Trump ran in the California and Michigan primaries for nomination as the Reform Party candidate for the 2000 United States presidential election but withdrew from the race in February 2000. A July 1999 poll matching him against likely Republican nominee George W. Bush and likely Democratic nominee Al Gore showed Trump with seven percent support.

In 2011, Trump speculated about running against President Barack Obama in the 2012 election, making his first speaking appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February 2011 and giving speeches in early primary states. In May 2011, he announced he would not run, and he endorsed Mitt Romney in February 2012. Trumps presidential ambitions were generally not taken seriously at the time.

Memo From Trump Attorney Outlined How Pence Could Overturn Election Says New Book

Did Nancy Pelosi Just Call For Trumps Assassination? American ...

ABC News Jonathan Karl covers the story in his new book on Trumps presidency.

US Capitol riots: Tracking the insurrection

In a memo not made public until now, then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows emailed to Vice President Mike Pences top aide, on New Years Eve, a detailed plan for undoing President Joe Bidens election victory, ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl reports.

The memo, written by former President Donald Trumps campaign lawyer Jenna Ellis, is reported for the first time in Karls upcoming book, Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show demonstrating how Pence was under even more pressure than previously known to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Ellis, in the memo, outlined a multi-step strategy: On Jan. 6, the day Congress was to certify the 2020 election results, Pence was to send back the electoral votes from six battleground states that Trump falsely claimed he had won.

The memo said that Pence would give the states a deadline of 7pm eastern standard time on January 15th to send back a new set of votes, according to Karl.

Then, Ellis wrote, if any state legislature missed that deadline, no electoral votes can be opened and counted from that state.

The day after Meadows sent Ellis memo to Pences aide, on Jan. 1, Trump aide John McEntee sent another memo to Pences chief of staff, Marc Short, titled, Jefferson used his position as VP to win.

I wouldnt dispute it, Trump said to Karl.

No Evidence Letter Is Authentic

There is no evidence that the letter depicted on social me is real. The contents of the posts letter also contradict Bidens assessment of it being very generous.

Additionally, the seal at the top of the letter does not match the seals used on other letters from Trump that have been made public, like this one. The letter posted to Instagram is also dated 20th January 2021, instead of the typical date formatting with the month first, followed by the day.

Lastly, the letters assertion that Trump won the election is false. Election officials, both Republicans and Democrats, have confirmed that there was no widespread voter fraud and lawsuits alleging fraud have been largely unsuccessful.

When Biden Found Trumps Letter To Him In Oval Office He Put It In His Pocket And Did Not Share It: Book

On his first day in office, President Joe Biden had his predecessor on his mind: Some of the historic number of executive actions he took in the hours after being sworn in on Jan. 20 reversed policies put in place by Donald Trump.

But when Biden found a letter from Trump in a drawer of the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office in what appeared to be a rare acknowledgment by Trump of his defeat the new commander-in-chief tucked it away and went right back to work, according to a new book.

He put it in his pocket and did not share it with his advisers, Bob Woodward and Robert Costa write in Peril, which was released Tuesday. His attention turned to the virus.

Biden, 78, later confirmed the existence of the presidential epistle but gave away very little about its contents. The president wrote a very generous letter, he told reporters in the Oval Office later on Jan. 20. Because it was private, I will not talk about it until I talk to him. But, uh, it was generous.

The letter, which has been a tradition from one president to the next since Ronald Reagan, was notable given how Trump refused to concede his loss in the 2020 election, one of countless political norms he ignored since he announced his candidacy for president in 2015.
