How Do I Contact President Donald Trump

Don't Miss

Trumps Bid To Subvert The Election

WATCH: Biden and Trump on what theyâll say to Americans who didnât vote for them

A monthslong campaign.During his last days in office, President Donald J. Trump and his allies undertook an increasingly urgent effort to undermine the election results. That wide-ranging campaign included perpetuating false and thoroughly debunked claims of election fraud as well as pressing government officials for help.

Baseless claims of voter fraud.Although Mr. Trumps allegations of a stolen election have died in the courts and election officials of both parties from every state have said there is no evidence of fraud, Republicans across the country continued to spread conspiracy theories. Those include 147 House Republicans who voted against certifying the election.

Intervention at the Justice Department.Rebuffed by ranking Republicans and cabinet officials like Attorney General William P. Barr, who stepped down weeks before his tenure was to end, Mr. Trump sought other avenues to peddle his unfounded claims. In a bid to advance his personal agenda, Mr. Trump plotted to oust the acting attorney general and pressed top officials to declare that the election was corrupt. His chief of staff pushed the department to investigate an array of outlandish and unfounded conspiracy theories that held that Mr. Trump had been the victor.

I had seen what occurred in Georgia and I was like, I want no part of this madness and the only way I enter into this is I call the president back, Mr. Hickman said.

History collides, Mr. Hickman said. Its a small world.

For Trump Email Is The New Twitter

    By Glenn Thrush

Fridays positive jobs report might have been a day of exclamation points and all-caps self-congratulation for Donald J. Trump if he were A) still president, and B) still allowed to post on Twitter.

Instead, there was a somber tweet from the White House chief of staff, Ron Klain, who downplayed the 379,000 newly created jobs as not good enough, and Mr. Trump himself used a muted megaphone he once eschewed email to address an array of topics tailor-fit for social media.

Despite being delayed by years of litigation and politics by the Democrats, the wall is almost finished and can be quickly completed. Doing so will save thousands of lives, Mr. Trump wrote in an email on Friday, responding to recent White House moves to reverse his immigration and border wall policies.

Keep illegal immigration, crime, and the China Virus out of our country! he added in the email, sent by his post-presidential office.

It is Trumps Twitter feed, only now its my inbox, Rob Tornoe, a reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer, posted on Twitter after the email went out.

The old-is-new email format, which has no character count or content warnings, allows the former president to ramble and speak out as before, with all the same unedited idiosyncrasies of grammar and punctuation intact.

A few hours later, he targeted Karl Rove, a former adviser of President George W. Bush, for writing an op-ed piece calling Mr. Trumps speech at CPAC hollow.

Friday Briefing: The Full Story Of Donald Trumps Plot To Steal The White House

President Trump hugs the American flag and we have no idea why

In todays newsletter: As the January 6 hearings close in Washington DC, Nimo Omer breaks down the five biggest takeaways from the year-long inquiry

  • for our daily newsletter, First Edition
  • Good morning. It has been 18 months since the January 6 insurrection, but the chaotic scenes of people storming the Capitol in Washington DC will be studied for decades to come.

Due to the seismic nature of the events that took place in the wake of the US presidential election, a House of Representatives committee has been conducting a year-long inquiry into the scope of former president Donald Trumps involvement in the attack and, crucially, whether any part he played was premeditated. The findings of this inquiry have been made public via a series of prime-time televised hearings that have laid out in meticulous detail who was involved, in what capacity, and what they knew.

Last night, the January 6 committee convened for its final scheduled hearing. It revealed that Trump did not contact any law enforcement agency or the Pentagon to quell the violence as he watched events play out on TV in the White House dining room.

For todays newsletter, I spoke to David Smith, the Guardians Washington DC bureau chief, about the key revelations from these hearings and what they might mean for Trumps future. Thats right after the headlines.

What Laws May Trump Have Broken

The warrant gave prosecutors the right to seize records containing evidence in violation of three laws, with code numbers 793, 2071 and 1519.

While the list of items agents took from Mar-a-Lago notes that many of the documents were classified, those three laws deal with mishandling of federal government records regardless of whether or not they are classified.

The law with number 793 prevents unauthorized possession of national defense information, without mentioning whether the records are classified or not. It is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

That law was initially passed under the 1917 Espionage Act, which predates the statutory classification system.

The other laws, 2071 and 1519, make it illegal to conceal or destroy official U.S. documents. They are punishable by up to three and 20 years in prison, respectively. Neither law requires the information in question to be classified.

To obtain the warrant, prosecutors had to persuade a judge they had probable cause to believe the laws may have been violated. Trump has not been charged with any crimes.

    Archives Officials Warn Of Consequences

President Trump gives a farewell address to the American people

Officials at the archives warn Mr. Trumps representatives that there could be a referral to the Justice Department or an alert to Congress if the former president continues to refuse to comply with the Presidential Records Act.

Mr. Trumps advisers are concerned about who can go through the documents held at Mar-a-Lago, because appropriate clearances are needed to review classified material and it is not immediately obvious what is in them. Mr. Trump ultimately goes through the boxes at the club himself, although he appears not to have gone through them all.

In late December, Mr. Trumps lawyers inform the archives that they have found 12 boxes of documents at Mar-a-Lago and that they are ready for retrieval.

Will Biden Run Again Voters Overwhelmingly Don’t Want Him To Poll Shows

Biden has said he intends to seek reelection in 2024, though he has noted he won’t make his final decision until early next year.

A USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll last month found that by 64%-26% voters did not want Biden to seek a second term. But the numbers are a change from the summer, when 69%-22% said they didn’t want Biden to run.

The poll also found that in a prospective presidential race, Biden led Trump 46%-42%.

Trump Rebuked For Call To Suspend Constitution Over Election

    Print

Former President Donald Trump faced rebuke Sunday from officials in both parties after calling for the “termination” of parts of the Constitution over his lie that the 2020 election was stolen.

Trump, who announced last month that he is running again for president, made the claim over the weekend on his Truth Social media platform.

“A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” he wrote. “Our great ‘Founders’ did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!”

Incoming House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries on Sunday described Trump’s statement as strange and extreme and said Republicans will have to make a choice whether to continue embracing Trump’s anti-democratic views.

“Republicans are going to have to work out their issues with the former president and decide whether they’re going to break from him and return to some semblance of reasonableness or continue to lean in to the extremism, not just of Trump, but Trumpism,” Jeffries said.

Asked about Trump’s comments Sunday, Rep. Mike Turner of Ohio, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, said he “vehemently” disagrees and “absolutely” condemns the remarks, saying they should be a factor as Republicans decide who should lead their party in 2024.

And This Is Popular With Political Campaigns

Yes. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders was the first to effectively employ this system with Hustle, which employed people to send personal text messages to prospective voters. Youve likely seen an increase in volume of text messages from local campaigns during an election or primary.

It turns out, youre more likely to respond to a text message than you are a phone call or email, which often are littered with spam or robocalls.

A lot of these systems are flagged automatically or occur when customer complaints come in, so thats a hard case to make. Theres no evidence that the carriers or their partners are flagging and blocking these messages for reasons other than preventing spam.

The telecom companies are also far more reserved when it comes to staking out a political position, with the carriers previously having praised Trump for his large corporate tax cut in 2017.

When it comes to combatting spam, the motivation is primarily driven by the need to eliminate something most people find annoying.

The former couple first announced their split in March 2018, and finalized their divorce in February 2019. We finalized our agreement at the end of last year, they said in a joint statement. We are incredibly lucky to have five amazing children and are committed to raising them together. Our kids and their happiness will always be our first priority.

The duo reportedly began dating back in April 2018, and about a year later, Guilfoyle joined Donald Trumps reelection campaign as a senior adviser. The couple also shares a $4.5 million dollar Hampton house together.

Guilfoyle started her career as a prosecutor in San Francisco, and was once married to the citys mayor, Gavin Newsom. She began her television career in 2004, soon becoming a regular figure on Fox News. Later, she served as the vice chairwoman of the pro-Trump super PAC, America First Action.

Trump Launches Official Website For Post

Donald Trump is back online but not yet back on social media.

The former president launched an official website, 45office.com, for his post-presidency office on Monday. The website allows the public to submit messages, scheduling requests and press inquiries to Trump and former first lady Melania Trump.

Trump also says hell be back on social media, this time on his own platform, in the next few months.

Trump has been off Twitter since January, when the social media giant suspended his account after his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in a riot that resulted in five deaths. His Facebook and Instagram accounts were also suspended.

Also on Monday, Trump blasted two of his most prominent coronavirus advisers. He called Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx two self-promoters trying to reinvent history.

In a statement Monday night, Trump called Fauci the king of flip-flops and accused Fauci of moving the goalposts to make himself look as good as possible. Fauci is the chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden.

Birx managed the Trump administrations response to the pandemic. In the statement, he called her a proven liar with very little credibility left.
