My Friend Donald Trump

Trump flips out on reporter: ‘I’m the President of the United States!

Donald Trump writes to me often, usually several times a day. The president, as he calls himselfnone of that former businesswants me to know how much he values me as a trusted ally. He is forever offering me exciting opportunities, like the chance for my name to be permanently engraved on the Official 2022 Trump Donor Wall in his office. All I need to do for this to happen is contribute $45 by midnight.

Space is extremely limited, the president warned. This could be your only chance.

President Trump is always looking out for me that way. He has told me countless times that I must act quickly because time is running out. Hes been saying that about the Donor Wall since he first brought it up, weeks ago. Since then, hes given me a generous number of only chances.

The president and others in his inner circle, including Donald Jr., have also sent me multiple limited-time offers to have my name appear on his birthday card. Ive been given about ten last chances to do this since mid-May, including one from Jr. that promised me priority access to sign my fathers Official Birthday Card before ANYONE ELSE. I missed all of these chances. But, who knows, maybe there will be others before his actual birthday on June 14?

But only if I act before 11:59 p.m. Otherwise, I am just going to have to wait until the following day.

This has been going on for years.

Fact Check: Trump Did Not Fill Up The Reserve And It Is Not Virtually Drained

Former President Donald Trump claimed his administration filled up the Strategic Petroleum Reserve but it has now been virtually drained by the Biden administration.

Facts First: Both parts of Trumps claim are false. He didnt fill up the reserve, and the reserve is not currently virtually drained.

Though Trump has repeatedly boasted of supposedly having filled up the reserve, it actually contained fewer barrels of crude when he left office in early 2021 than when he took office in 2017. Thats not all because of him the law requires some mandatory sales from the reserve for budget reasons, and Democrats in Congress blocked the funding needed to execute Trumps 2020 directive to buy tens of millions more barrels and fill the reserve to its maximum capacity but nonetheless, it didnt get filled.

As CNNs Matt Egan and Phil Mattingly reported in mid-October, the US reserve remains the largest in the world even though it was at a 38-year low after Biden released a major chunk of it to help keep oil prices down in the wake of Russias invasion of Ukraine . The reserve had more than 396 million barrels of crude oil as of the week ending Nov. 4.

Trump Organization Chief Operating Officer Not Expected To Be Charged In Fraud Probe His Attorney Says

Trump Organization Chief Operating Officer Matthew Calamari, who was being investigated as part of a wide-ranging probe into former President Donald Trumps company, is not expected to be charged, his attorney said Wednesday.

Calamari attorney Nicholas Gravante Jr. confirmed that prosecutors for the Manhattan District Attorneys Office had told him that at present, they do not intend to charge him.

A spokesperson for District Attorney Cy Vance declined to comment on Gravantes statement, which was first reported by The New York Times.

The Trump Organization and its chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, were charged in July in what prosecutors described as a 15-year scheme to compensate top executives of Trumps company off the books and help them avoid paying taxes.

The Trump Organization pleaded not guilty to tax fraud, falsifying business records and other charges. Weisselberg, 74, pleaded not guilty to grand larceny and tax fraud charges, among others, after prosecutors accused him of personally avoiding taxes on $1.7 million of his income.

The Wall Street Journal, citing people close to the matter, reported in June that Calamari, Trumps former bodyguard, was being investigated over whether he, too, received tax-free fringe benefits from the company. A person familiar with the matter confirmed in June that Calamari was under investigation.

Mcconnell Pushes Back On Attacks Following Midterm Election Losses And Reiterates Candidate Quality Issue

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who reiterated he has the votes to be reelected as leader, gave his first extensive take on the Republicans lackluster performance in the midterms.

Asked about Republican Sen. Rick Scotts attacks that his refusal to lay out a policy agenda exposed GOP candidates in key races, McConnell pushed back, and instead pointed to unnamed people in the party who are engulfed in chaos, negativity and excessive attacks, adding that it frightened independent and moderate Republican voters.

He once again pointed to candidate quality as an issue in key races.

We learned some lessons about this, and I think the lessons pretty clear, McConnell said. Senate races are different. Candidate quality, you recall I said in August, is important. In most of our states we met that test, in a few of them we did not.

McConnell also reminded reporters that he had repeatedly called control of the Senate a jump ball ahead of the election.

I never predicted a red wave. We never saw that in any of our polling in the states that we were counting on to win. There was no wave, he said.

McConnell insisted once again that he will be reelected as leader by his conference, but did not rule out delaying the leadership votes expected on Wednesday.

Trump Is On The Defense Amid Midterm Disappointment As He Prepares For Expected 2024 Announcement

Should Donald Trump announce his third presidential bid on Tuesday, as is widely expected, he will begin the next phase of his political career under siege.

Seven years ago, the New York businessman entered the political fray on defense, working vigorously to cast himself as a serious contender for the Republican presidential nomination to the incredulity of veteran political operatives and his primary opponents.

This time, Trump takes the plunge as the partys indisputable frontrunner, but once again, he finds himself in a defensive crouch.

On the brink of a campaign launch that elicits both enthusiasm and dread from different corners of his own party, Trumps quest to return to the Oval Office could face untold obstacles in the months to come, even with his loyal base firmly intact.

A deflection from probes: He has spent the days since the midterm elections fending off criticism from fellow Republicans over his ill-fated involvement in key contests, furiously lashing out at two GOP heavyweights who could complicate his path to the White House if they mount their own presidential campaigns, and fretting that he or associates could soon be indicted by federal investigators in two separate Justice Department probes.

On Saturday, CNN projected that Democrats will retain control of the Senate in the 118th Congress, an outcome that has fractured Republicans and left the party on tenterhooks as Trump readies his big announcement.

Fact Check: Trump Incorrectly Boasts That No President Before Him Had Sought Or Received $1 From China

Former President Donald Trump boasted about his tariffs on China during his speech Tuesday, claiming, no president had ever sought or received $1 for our country from China until I came along.

Facts First: As we have written repeatedly, its not true that no president before Trump had generated any revenue through tariffs on goods from China. In reality, the US has had tariffs on China for more than two centuries, and FactCheck.org reported in 2019 that the US generated an average of $12.3 billion in custom duties a year from 2007 to 2016, according to the U.S. International Trade Commission DataWeb.

Also, American importers, not Chinese exporters, make the actual tariff payments and study after study during Trumps presidency found that Americans were bearing the cost of the tariffs.

As you can probably guess, Trump isnt using one of these.

So here are the requirements for sending a CAN-SPAM compliant email:

  • Your subject line should not be misleading.
  • Your From address should not be misleading.
  • The recipients email address cannot be harvested from somewhere on the Internet .
  • A physical mailing address of the person or organization sending the email must be present.
  • An unsubscribe option must be in the footer.
  • Unsubscription requests must be honored in 10 days.
  • Thats the bulk of them. There are a few others, but theyre either a little dated, a little technical, or they fall in line with some of the other points.

Chris Christie Applauded For Trump Criticism At Gop Governor’s Summit

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was applauded on Tuesday after suggesting that former president Donald Trump bears the blame for the GOPs disappointing midterm performance.

Speaking at the annual Republican Governors Association summit, Christie said the party has fallen short in the last three election cycles because Trump was front-and-center or a candidate himself.

A person familiar with his comments and the reaction from the donors, consultants, and GOP operatives in the room said Christie received sustained applause.

Christie, a potential 2024 challenger to Trump, said voters rejected candidates who embraced crazy positions and Trumps lies about the 2020 election, the source said.

Christie also blamed Trump for elevating flawed candidates that he claimed were doomed to fail in certain races, including Pennsylvania GOP gubernatorial hopeful Doug Mastriano.

Axios first reported Christies comments on Tuesday.

Christies comments come hours before Trump is expected to announce a 2024 presidential campaign, running for the White House for the third time and potentially entering a primary that could soon become crowded with anti-Trump rivals like the former New Jersey governor.

Trump Blames Biden For ‘decline Of America’

White House Undergoes Contact Tracing After Trump Tests Positive For Covid | NBC News NOW

“America is mocked, derided, and brought to its knees, perhaps, like never before,” he said, also describing the US as “failing” and “in decline.”

The former president promised to “immediately tackle inflation” and restore the US economy to its pre-pandemic state, but he was short on specifics on how a renewed Trump administration would accomplish these tasks.

Trump repeatedly mocked Biden, suggesting that the commander-in-chief is feeble and unfit. The former president has never officially conceded his 2020 election defeat, continuing to tout a debunked denial of the results.

“The decline of America is being forced upon us by Biden and the radical left lunatics that are running our government right into the ground,” Trump said.

Biden’s team responded to Trump’s announcement by pointing Americans to a new website that touts the Biden administration’s accomplishments.

“Bored? A lot of people are. Read about @POTUS’s high energy record!” White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates

Trump appeared to try to stay on script on Tuesday evening, saying at one point that his announcement was “an elegant night and this is an elegant place.” As time went on, though, Trump’s speech became virtually inseparable from his long stem-winding political rally speeches that can go on for hours.

Multiple networks, including Fox News, began to give up on Trump’s announcement and resumed regular programming before he was done speaking.
