The real questions are, are the survival food kits from 4patriots worth the money? Is the company legitimate? Is 4patriots the best option for emergency food?
Ive been reviewing emergency food for years now, and in 2021 I suddenly started getting ad after ad for a company called 4Patriots.
The commercials are long, infomercial style ads like youd see on daytime television in the 1990s. Everything seems too good to be true, and then they say, But wait, theres more! Some of their ads promise things that just dont seem possibleat least not for a company thats hoping to stay in business.

My momma always said when things seem too good to be true, they probably are.
Nonetheless, I decided to do a full review of 4Patriots Survival Food, as I imagine lots of you have the questions. Can this company possibly be legit?
I pride myself on doing comprehensive reviews, so Id encourage you to read everything if youre seriously considering purchasing products from 4Patriots. That said, I know people are in a hurry and theyre looking for quick answers.
Is 4Patriots Legit? Yes.

Is 4patriots Survival Food Legit
Yes, 4patriots survival food is legit, and they do in fact deliver the survival food they advertise. Its not the best survival food on the market, or the least expensive, but they are in fact a legitimate company . At least not at the time of this review.
If the name sounds familiar, thats because theyve been around for a quite a few years. They originally started out as Food 4 Patriots circa 2013. They ran heavy ad campaigns and focused on up-sale tactics, trying to get you to add on to your order half a dozen times before you could successfully checkout.
The review are absolutely horrible, and you can look at their to see that just about every comment is someone complaining about the quality of the food, the poor package seals or the fact that they never received their order. Look them up on scam reporting websites and they have plenty of complaints, mostly that people were double charged and/or never received their order.
Around 2018 they rebranded as simply 4Patriots. They changed their website name, created a and tried to leave all the bad press behind. They put a much heavier focus on customer service, and Ive got to hand it to them, the complaints dropped dramatically.but not entirely.
They doubled down on facebook ads, and quickly sold out of everything when the kerfuffle of early 2020 hit.
They are incredibly good at marketingand thats because theyre actually a marketing company, not a survival food company.

Ammo cans are sold for short-term emergencies. They stand apart from most long term food storage companies because they promise 2,000 + calories in each meal. Whats Inside The 4patriots Tub
Lets take a look at what was in my kit. If you order the same kit as I did, however, you might not get these same things. The company says We may substitute recipes of similar quality and caloric value in order to expedite your kit. Compare that to Emergency Essentials, which clearly lists everything that comes in its one-month bucket, which provides 41 food packets for about the same price as the 4Patriots four-week kit at about $4.85 per packet.
But if you do happen to get the same things as I did, heres what you can expect:
- Powdered whey milk x 2
- Vanilla pudding x 2
Thats 24 meals in total. If you ate three meals a day, thatd last you eight days at about $8.21 per meal. If you only ate one per day, the 4Patriots kit would still only last you 24 days, and one of those days, all youd be able to eat is a smoothie.
The biggest disappointment is the four packs of plain white rice, which isnt much of a meal. White rice isnt exactly hard to stockpile, either. We have literally dozens of pounds of it in our house.
One of the selling points of these kits that they offer long-lasting, somewhat flavorful, easy to prepare meals. Anyone who can get their hands on rice can throw it in a mylar bag with an oxygen absorber. So I dont exactly think plain rice packets are worth the money.

Cooking the Mac and Cheese from the 4Patriots Survival Food Kit. One whole pack is simmered for about 20 minutes with just under 4 cups of water. No colander is required, it absorption cooks, and will finish with the pasta and cheese sauce together.
The finished product is honestly, totally fine.
I know, youre expecting that the food is completely inedible. Who tries survival food before an emergency anyway? Wouldnt it be easier for them to just not care?
All it takes is a few people actually trying the food and giving bad reviews before people catch on. The food is totally fine, and tastes better than youd expect for survival food.
Its not as good as some of the nicer brands at the store, but it is totally on par with budget prepared food. Its budget survival food at an unbelievably low price, so honestly, thats pretty darn good.
4Patriots Mac and Cheese next to an expensive Organic Brand . While its not truly Americas Finest by any stretch of the imagination, thats a trademark rather than a taste guarantee. It does taste totally fine, and I doubt anyone would complain if you actually had to crack into your survival food kit in an emergency.

Whats Included In A 4patriots Survival Food Kit
They have a variety of survival food kits, all labeled for a different duration. The exact contents of the kit will vary, and theyre explicit about that. Since theyre sourcing survival food, not producing it, the kits will contain a mix from a variety of producers. Most of it will be re-packed in 4Patriots pouches, but not all.
Theres even a leaflet disclaimer in their kit that says, In the interest of expediting your order, some food may not be packaged in our standard 4Patriots branded pouches. Printing takes time, and we thought it best to get you your food as soon as possible, without waiting for a pretty pouch. Thats a nice way of saying we didnt have time to re-pack it, and were branding food under our label from a variety of sources.
The duration listed doesnt necessarily mean it contains enough calories to last that amount of time, at least not the recommended daily amount of 2,000 calories.
I ordered a 2 week kit and it contained:
- 2 packs Energy Drink, total of 20 servings, 180 calories per serving
- 2 packs Oatmeal, total of 16 servings, 210 calories per serving
- 2 packs Potato Soup, total of 16 servings, 240 calories per serving

“Core” inflation a measure that strips out food and energy costs, which can be volatile is important in terms of predicting future inflation trends, economists said.
The measure gives a sense of how broad-based inflation has gotten. Core inflation was 6.6% in September, the largest 12-month increase since August 1982. Core inflation was up 6.3% in October over a year ago the index rose 0.3% during the month versus 0.6% in September.
Shelter, which includes rent, was the “dominant factor” in monthly increase in “core” CPI, according to the BLS. It accounted for 40% of annual core inflation.
The CPI generally lags price dynamics in the broad housing market and likely isn’t an accurate present-day snapshot of shelter prices, economists said. Home sales and mortgage volumes have slowed significantly, leading some to declare the U.S. is in a housing recession.
Other “notable” increases in the past year include medical care , household furnishings and operations , new vehicles , and personal care , the BLS said.
Monthly increases came from shelter, motor vehicle insurance, recreation, new vehicles and personal care, according to the BLS. There were also some monthly declines: used cars and trucks, medical care, apparel and airfares, it added.
“Price pressures remain evident across a broad range of goods and services,” Jerome Powell, chairman of the Federal Reserve, said during a press conference Nov. 2.

Normally I wouldnt go into the ordering experience, and I dont in my other reviews of survival food. In most cases, you order the foodand then they ship you the food. End of story.
I feel like it bears mentioning that this process was really different from any other company Ive dealt with to date, for survival food or anything else.
They try to up-sell you at every single step of the process, from adding something to your cart, to the ordering pages, and even after your order is placed. I received nearly 2 dozen emails encouraging me to add to my order, just in the time between when my order was placed and when it was shipped.
That deal that seems too good to be true? It is. Thats the loss leader, and they intentionally take several weeks to ship your product. During that time youll receive several emails a day, each one more urgent, trying to get you to add to your order.
Frank Bates, the name the emails nominally come from, is incredibly convincing. I received literally dozens of emails from him before my food was shipped, all stressing that my survival depended on adding on just a few more things to my orderliterally, my life depended on it. ACT NOW!
