Today, we’re going to be going over and showing you how to install the Blue Ox Patriot 3 supplemental braking system here on our 2021 Jeep Gladiator. So a supplemental braking system is going to be one key component of a flat tow setup. It’s actually going to be required at every state to a certain degree. So granted, most of the states are different in regards to their rules and regulations that relate to a supplemental braking system.
The weight of our Jeep, it’s going to pretty much guaranteed that it’s going to be required in every state because it is based on the weight of the towed vehicle. So what a supplemental braking system essentially does is it’s going to take. When we’re in our motor home, we’re flat towing our Jeep, we’re pressing the brakes on our motor home, it’s going to send a pulse or a signal to our braking system here, which is then going to depress the brakes in our towed vehicle. Therefore, it’s going to help us come to a much safer stop, much sooner.It’s also going to help decrease some of the wear on the brakes on our motor home. So here’s what the braking system looks like installed.
